²¹ And the people said to Joshua, No, but we will serve Jehovah.

⁸ And all the people answered together and said, All that Jehovah has spoken we will do. And Moses reported the words of the people to Jehovah.

¹⁹ And they said to Moses, Speak with us and we will hear, but do not let God speak with us, lest we die.

³ And Moses came and told the people all the words of Jehovah and all the ordinances. And all the people answered with one voice and said, All the words which Jehovah has spoken will we
do.

⁷ And he took the book of the covenant and read in the audience of the people. And they said, All that Jehovah has spoken will we do and be obedient.

²⁷ Go near and hear all that Jehovah our God will say. And speak to us all that Jehovah our God will speak to you and we will hear it and do it.
²⁸ And Jehovah heard the voice of your* words, when you* spoke to me. And Jehovah said to me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken to you. They have well said all that they have spoken.

¹⁷ You have avowed Jehovah to be your God this day and that you would walk in his ways and keep his statutes and his commandments and his ordinances and listen to his voice.

⁵ One will say, I am Jehovah's and another will call himself by the name of Jacob and another will subscribe with his hand to Jehovah and surname himself by the name of Israel.
