⁷ and the border went up to Debir from the valley of Achor and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is opposite the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the river and the border passed along to the waters of En-shemesh. And the goings out of it were at En-rogel, ⁸ and the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom to the side of the Jebusite southward (what is Jerusalem) and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the outermost part of the vale of Rephaim northward,

⁶³ And as for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the sons of Judah could not drive them out, but the Jebusites dwell with the sons of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.

²⁸ and Zelah, Eleph and the Jebusite (what is Jerusalem), Gibeath, and Kiriath; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin according to their families.

⁸ And the sons of Judah fought against Jerusalem and took it and killed* it with the edge of the sword and set the city on fire.

³³ For a Topheth is prepared of old, yes, it is made ready for the king. He has made it deep and large. The pile of it is fire and much wood. The breath of Jehovah kindles it, like a stream of brimstone.

³¹ And they have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, which I did not command, nor did it come into my mind.
³² Therefore, behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that it will no more be called Topheth, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of Slaughter. For they will bury in Topheth, till there is no place to bury.

² and go forth to the valley of the son of Hinnom, which is by the entry of the Earthen Vessels Gate and proclaim there the words that I will tell you.

⁶ therefore behold, the days come, says Jehovah, that this place will no more be called Topheth, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of Slaughter.

¹¹ and will say to them, Jehovah of hosts says thus: Even so I will break this people and this city, as a potter's vessel is broken, that cannot be made whole again. And they will bury in Topheth till there is no place to bury.

³⁵ And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire to Molech, which I did not command them, nor did it come into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.
