⁸ For what is the hope of the profane, though he gets him gain, when God takes away his soul?

¹³ So are the paths of all who forget God. And the hope of the profane man will perish,

²⁰ But the eyes of the wicked will fail and they will have no way to flee. And their hope will be the giving up of the spirit.

¹⁶ This also will be my salvation, that a profane man will not come before him.

³⁴ For the company of the hypocrites will be barren and fire will consume the tents of bribery.

⁵ that the triumphing of the wicked is short and the joy of the profane but for a moment?

³ Is it not calamity to the unrighteous and disaster to the workers of wickedness?

¹⁴ The sinners in Zion are afraid. Trembling has seized the profane. Who among us can dwell with the devouring fire? Who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings? ¹⁵ He who walks righteously and speaks in uprightness. He who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes away his hands from taking a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of blood and shuts his eyes from looking upon evil.

²⁶ For what is a man profited, if he gains the whole world, and should forfeit his soul? Or what shall a man give as an exchange for his soul?

¹³ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you are devouring widows’houses, and praying long prayers for a pretext, because of this, you will be receiving even-more condemnation.

³⁶ For what will it profit a man, if he has gained the whole world and should forfeit his soul? ³⁷ Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

²⁵ For what is a man profited, having gained the whole world, but has lost or forfeited himself?

²⁰ But God said to him, Fool, your soul is asked back from you in this night, and the things which you prepared, whose will they be? ²¹ So is he who is storing up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.

⁹ But those who are planning to be rich are falling into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful lusts, which are submerging men into utter-destruction and everlasting destruction. ¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils; of which some aspiring to, have been misled from the faith and they themselves are staked-through by many sorrows.

¹ Come now you rich, weep, howling in your miseries, in those which are coming upon you. ² Your riches have rotted and your garments have become moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver have tarnished, and their tarnish will be for a testimony against you and will be eating your flesh like fire. You have stored up treasure in your^\'b0 last days.
