⁹ But Uriah slept at the door of the king's house with all the servants of his lord and did not go down to his house. ¹⁰ And when they had told David, saying, Uriah did not go down to his house, David said to Uriah, Have you not come from a journey? Why did you not go down to your house?
¹¹ And Uriah said to David, The ark and Israel and Judah, abide in booths and my lord Joab and the servants of my lord, are encamped in the open field. Shall I then go into my house, to eat and to drink and to lie with my wife? As you live and as your soul lives, I will not do this thing.
¹² And David said to Uriah, Remain here today also and tomorrow I will let you depart. So Uriah abode in Jerusalem that day and the morrow. ¹³ And when David had called him, he ate and drank before him and he made him drunk. And at evening he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but did not go down to his house.

¹² For you did it secretly, but I will do this thing before all Israel and before the sun.

¹³ And you say, What does God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness? ¹⁴ Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he does not see and he walks on the vault of heaven.

¹¹ He says in his heart, God has forgotten. He hides his face. He will never see it.

¹⁸ When you saw a thief, you consented with him and have been partaker with adulterers.

¹¹ And they say, How does God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?

⁷ And they say, Jehovah will not see, nor will the God of Jacob consider.

³² He who commits adultery with a woman is void of understanding. He who would destroy his own soul does it. ³³ He will get wounds and dishonor and his reproach will not be wiped away.
³⁴ Because jealousy is a man's fury and he will not spare in the day of vengeance. ³⁵ He will not regard any ransom, nor will he be satisfied, because you give many gifts.

¹⁰ And behold, a woman attired like a prostitute and with a guarded heart met him there.

¹² Then he said to me, Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, each man in his chambers of imagery? For they say, Jehovah does not see us. Jehovah has forsaken the land.

⁹ Then he said to me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great and the land is full of blood and the city full of perverseness. For they say, Jehovah has forsaken the land and Jehovah does not see.
