¹ O Jehovah, you are my God. I will exalt you. I will praise your name. For you have done wonderful things, even counsels of old, in faithfulness and truth. ² For you have made of a city a heap, of a fortified city a ruin, a palace of strangers to be no city. It will not be built everlasting.

⁷ I form the light and create darkness. I make peace and create evil. I am Jehovah who does all these things.

¹⁰ declaring the end from the beginning and from long-ago things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel will stand and I will do all my pleasure, ¹¹ calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country. ⁶ Shall the trumpet be blown in a city and the people not be afraid? Shall evil befall a city and Jehovah has not done it?
