¹² How you are fallen from heaven, O daystar, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, who laid the nations low!

¹⁰ For the stars of heaven and the constellations of it will not give their light. The sun will be darkened in its going forth and the moon will not cause its light to shine.

⁴ that you will take up this taunt against the king of Babylon and say, How has the oppressor ceased, the golden city ceased
⁵ Jehovah has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers, ⁶ who killed* the peoples in wrath with a continual stroke, who ruled the nations in anger, with a persecution that none restrained.

⁴ And all the host of heaven will be dissolved and the heavens will be rolled together as a scroll. And all their host will fade away as the leaf fades from the vine and as a fading leaf from the fig tree.

²³ How the hammer of the whole earth is cut apart and broken! How Babylon has become a desolation among the nations!

²⁰ You are my battle-axe and weapons of war. And with you I will smash the nations and with you I will destroy kingdoms, ²¹ and with you I will smash the horse and his rider, ²² and with you I will smash the chariot and he who rides in it and with you I will smash man and woman and with you I will smash the old man and the youth and with you I will smash the young man and the virgin, ²³ and with you I will smash the shepherd and his flock and with you I will smash the farmer and his yoke of oxen and with you I will smash governors and deputies.
²⁴ And I will render to Babylon and to all the inhabitants of Chaldea all their evil that they have done in Zion in your* sight, says Jehovah.

¹³ You were in Eden, the garden of God. Every precious stone was your covering, the ruby, the topaz and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald and the carbuncle and gold. The workmanship of your tambourine and of your pipes was in you. In the day that you were created they were prepared.
¹⁴ You were the anointed cherub who covers. And I set you, so that you were upon the holy mountain of God. You have walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
¹⁵ You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, till unrighteousness was found in you. ¹⁶ By the abundance of your commerce they filled the midst of you with violence and you have sinned. Therefore I have cast you out of the mountain of God as profane and I have destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.
¹⁷ Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty. You have corrupted your wisdom because of your brightness. I have cast you to the ground. I have laid you before kings, that they may behold you.

¹⁸ But he said to them, I was viewing the Adversary falling like lightning from heaven.

¹⁹ And we have the steadfast prophetic word, (as to a lamp appearing in a dreary place, until the day should dawn and the morning-star might rise), to which you are doing well, and taking-heed in your hearts.

⁴ For if God did not spare messengers who sinned, but threw them into hell and gave them to restraints of blackness, being kept for judgment;

²⁸ and I will be giving to him the morning star.

¹⁰ And the third messenger sounded and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch and it fell upon the third of the rivers and upon the springs of the waters;

¹ And the fifth messenger sounded and I saw a star from heaven has fallen to the earth and the key of the pit of the abyss was given to him.

⁷ And there became a war in heaven. Michael and his messengers made war with the dragon, and the dragon and his messengers made war. ⁸ And they did not prevail, neither was a place found for him anymore in heaven. ⁹ And the great dragon was cast down, the ancient serpent, who is called the devil and the Adversary, the one who is misleading the whole inhabited-earth; he was cast down to the earth and his messengers were cast down with him. ¹⁰ And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ has become, because the accuser of our brethren has been cast down, who accuses them in the sight of our God day and night.

¹⁶ I, Jesus, have sent my messenger to testify to you these things in the congregations. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star.
