⁷ If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin crouches at the door. Its desire will be for you and you should rule over it.

¹⁶ He said to the woman, I will greatly multiply your pain and your childbearing, in pain you will bring forth children. And your desire will be to your husband and he will rule over you.

⁸ And Cain told Abel his brother. And it happened, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. ⁹ And Jehovah said to Cain, Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?
¹⁰ And he said, What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries to me from the ground. ¹¹ And now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand. ¹² When you till the ground, it will not again yield to you its strength. You will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth.
¹³ And Cain said to Jehovah, My punishment is greater than I can bear.

²¹ And he said to him, Behold, I have lifted up you concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow the city of which you have spoken.

²³ But if you* will not do so, behold, you* have sinned against Jehovah and be sure your* sin will find you* out.

²³ All this, O king, Araunah gives to the king. And Araunah said to the king, Jehovah your God accept you.

²⁸ And he went with Joram the son of Ahab to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth-gilead and the Syrians wounded Joram.

⁴ as I was in the ripeness of my days, when the friendship of God was upon my tent,

⁸ Now therefore, take to you* seven bullocks and seven rams. And go to my servant Job and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering. And my servant Job will pray for you*, for him I will accept, that I not deal with you* after your* senselessness. For you* have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has.

⁵ To respect the person of a wicked man is not good, nor to turn aside a righteous man in judgment.

²⁷ The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination. Much more when he brings it with a wicked mind!

¹² Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and prolongs his days, yet surely I know that it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before him. ¹³ But it will not be well with a wicked man, neither will he prolong his days, which are as a shadow, because he did not fear before God.

¹⁰ Say you* of the righteous, that it is well, for they will eat the fruit of their practices. ¹¹ Woe to the wicked! It is ill with him, for what his hands have done will be done to him.

²⁰ To what purpose does there come to me frankincense from Sheba and the sweet cane from a far country? Your* burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your* sacrifices pleasing to me.

⁸ And when you* offer the blind for sacrifice, you* say, It is no evil! and when you* offer the lame and sick, It is no evil! Present it now to your governor. Will he be pleased with you, or will he accept your person? says Jehovah of hosts.

¹⁰ Oh that there was among you* who would shut the doors, that you* might not kindle my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you*, says Jehovah of hosts, nor will I accept an offering at your* hand.

¹³ You* also say, Behold, what a weariness it is! And you* have sniffed at it, says Jehovah of hosts. And you* have brought what was taken by violence and the lame and the sick. Thus you* bring the offering.
Should I accept this at your* hand? says Jehovah.

³⁵ but in every nation, he who fears him and is working righteousness, is acceptable to him.

⁶ who will ‘repay to each according to his works.’ ⁷ Everlasting life to those who indeed by endurance in good work are seeking glory and honor and incorruption. ⁸ But to those seeking things out of selfish ambition and who are indeed disobedient to the truth, but obey unrighteousness, he will repay with fury and wrath, ⁹ affliction and distress upon every soul of man who is working evil, both of the Jew first and of the Greek. ¹⁰ But glory and honor and peace to every man who is working good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek;

¹⁶ Do you not know, that to whom you present yourselves as bondservants to obedience, you are the bondservants to whom you obey; either of sin to death or of obedience to righteousness?

⁸ But sin, having taken a starting-point, worked in me through the commandment all manner of coveting; for separate from the law sin is dead. ⁹ But I was previously living separate from the law, but when the commandment came, sin lived again through me and I died;

¹ Therefore brethren, I am encouraging you through the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, which is your logical divine service.

¹⁸ For the one who is serving Christ in these things is well pleasing to God and approved by men.

¹⁶ that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, having done the sacred work of the good-news of God, in order that the offering up of the Gentiles might become acceptable, having been made holy in the Holy Spirit.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of his favor, in which he has favored us in the beloved,

⁴ But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to be devout toward their own family and to give back reimbursement to their parents; for this is acceptable in God’s sight.

⁴ In faith, Abel offered a more excellent sacrifice to God than Cain, through which he was witnessed to be righteous, God testifying on the basis of his gifts and through it he still speaks, although being dead.

¹⁵ Thereafter when this lust has conceived, it bears sin, and sin, when it has matured, gives-birth to death.

⁵ You, yourselves, like living stones, are also built up as a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
