¹ And the man knew Eve his wife and she conceived and bore Cain and said, I have gotten a man with the help of Jehovah. ² And again she bore his brother, Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep and Cain worked the ground.
³ And it happened in process of time, that Cain brought an offering to Jehovah of the fruit of the ground. ⁴ And Abel, he also brought of the first-offspring of his flock and of the fat of it. And Jehovah had respect to Abel and to his offering, ⁵ but he did not have respect to Cain and to his offering. And Cain was furious and his countenance fell.
⁶ And Jehovah said to Cain, Why are you furious? And why has your countenance fallen? ⁷ If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin crouches at the door. Its desire will be for you and you should rule over it.
⁸ And Cain told Abel his brother. And it happened, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. ⁹ And Jehovah said to Cain, Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?
¹⁰ And he said, What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries to me from the ground. ¹¹ And now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand. ¹² When you till the ground, it will not again yield to you its strength. You will be a vagrant and a wanderer on the earth.
¹³ And Cain said to Jehovah, My punishment is greater than I can bear. ¹⁴ Behold, you have driven me out this day from the face of the ground and I will be hid from your face and I will be a vagrant and a wanderer in the earth. And it will happen, that whoever finds me will kill me. ¹⁵ And Jehovah said to him, Therefore whoever kills Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold. And Jehovah appointed a sign for Cain, so that anyone who found him should not kill* him.
¹⁶ And Cain went out from the presence of Jehovah and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. ¹⁷ And Cain knew his wife and she conceived and bore Enoch. And Cain built a city and called the name of the city after the name of his son, Enoch.
¹⁸ And Irad was born to Enoch and Irad fathered Mehujael and Mehujael fathered Methushael and Methushael fathered Lamech.
¹⁹ And Lamech took to him two wives. The name of the one was Adah and the name of the other was Zillah. ²⁰ And Adah bore Jabal. He was the father of those who dwell in tents and have cattle. ²¹ And his brother's name was Jubal. He was the father of all those who handle the harp and pipe. ²² And Zillah, she also bore Tubal-cain, the forger of every cutting instrument of brass and iron. And the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah.
²³ And Lamech said to his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice, you*, the wives of Lamech, listen to my speech. For I have killed a man for wounding me and a young man for bruising me. ²⁴ If Cain will be avenged seven times, then Lamech seventy-seven times.
²⁵ And Adam knew his wife again and she bore a son and called his name Seth. For, she said, God has appointed for me another seed instead of Abel, because Cain killed him. ²⁶ And to Seth, to him there was also born a son and he called his name Enosh. Then men began to call upon the name of Jehovah.

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman and between your seed and her seed. He will bruise your head and you will bruise his heel.

²⁵ And Adam knew his wife again and she bore a son and called his name Seth. For, she said, God has appointed for me another seed instead of Abel, because Cain killed him.

²⁹ And he called his name Noah, saying, This one will comfort us in our work and in the toil of our hands, because of the ground which Jehovah has cursed.

¹⁷ Now therefore kill every male among the little ones and kill every woman that has known man by lying with him.

¹² not like Cain who was from the evil one and slaughtered his brother. And he slaughtered him because of what? Because his works were evil but the works of his brother were righteous.

²³ therefore Jehovah God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to work the ground from where he was taken.

²⁵ And Adam knew his wife again and she bore a son and called his name Seth. For, she said, God has appointed for me another seed instead of Abel, because Cain killed him. ²⁶ And to Seth, to him there was also born a son and he called his name Enosh. Then men began to call upon the name of Jehovah.

²⁰ And Noah began to be a farmer and planted a vineyard.

²⁹ And he said to him, You yourself know how I have served you and how your cattle have fared with me. ³⁰ For it was little which you had before I came and it has increased to a multitude and Jehovah has blessed you wherever I turned. And now when shall I also provide for my own house?
³¹ And he said, What shall I give you? And Jacob said, You will not give me anything. If you will do this thing for me, I will again feed your flock and keep it.

¹³ And Israel said to Joseph, Are not your brothers feeding the flock in Shechem? Come and I will send you to them.
And he said to him, Here I am.

³² And the men are shepherds, because they have been keepers of cattle and they have brought their flocks and their herds and all that they have.
³³ And it will happen, when Pharaoh will call you* and will say, What is your* occupation? ³⁴ that you* will say, Your servants have been keepers of cattle from our youth even until now, both we and our fathers, that you* may dwell in the land of Goshen, because every shepherd is an abomination to the Egyptians.

³ And Pharaoh said to his brothers, What is your* occupation? And they said to Pharaoh, Your servants are shepherds, both we and our fathers.

¹ Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the wilderness and came to the mountain of God, to Horeb.

⁷⁰ He also chose David his servant and took him from the sheepfolds. ⁷¹ He brought him from following the ewe-lambs that have their young, to be the shepherd of Jacob his people and Israel his inheritance.
⁷² So he was their shepherd according to the integrity of his heart and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.

³ Behold, sons are a heritage of Jehovah and the fruit of the womb is a reward.

¹⁵ And Jehovah took me from following the flock and Jehovah said to me, Go, prophesy to my people Israel.

⁵¹ from the blood of Abel Yes, I say to you, It will be sought from this generation.

⁴⁴ You are from your father, the devil, and you to do the lusts of your father. That one was a murderer from the beginning and is not standing in the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own things, because he is a liar and the father of it.

¹⁰ The children of God and the children of the devil are apparent in this, everyone who does not practice righteousness is not from God and he who does not love his brother.

¹⁵ Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer and you know that no murderer has everlasting life abiding in him.

¹ And when anyone offers an oblation of a meal offering to Jehovah, his oblation will be of fine flour and he will pour oil upon it and put frankincense on it. ² And he will bring it to Aaron's sons the priests and he will take out of it his handful of the fine flour of it and of the oil of it, with all the frankincense of it. And the priest will burn the memorial of it upon the altar, an offering made by fire, of a sweet aroma to Jehovah. ³ And what is left of the meal offering will be Aaron's and his sons'. It is a thing most holy of the offerings of Jehovah made by fire.
⁴ And when you offer an oblation of a meal offering baked in the oven, it will be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil. ⁵ And if your oblation be a meal offering of the baking-pan, it will be of fine flour unleavened, mingled with oil. ⁶ You will part it in pieces and pour oil in it. It is a meal offering.
⁷ And if your oblation be a meal offering of the frying-pan, it will be made of fine flour with oil. ⁸ And you will bring the meal offering that is made of these things to Jehovah and it will be presented to the priest and he will bring it to the altar. ⁹ And the priest will take up from the meal offering the memorial of it and will burn it upon the altar, an offering made by fire, of a sweet aroma to Jehovah. ¹⁰ And what is left of the meal offering will be Aaron's and his sons'. It is a thing most holy of the offerings of Jehovah made by fire.
¹¹ No meal offering, which you* will offer to Jehovah, will be made with leaven, for you* will burn no leaven, nor any honey, as an offering made by fire to Jehovah.

¹² All the best of the oil and all the best of the vintage and of the grain, the first-fruits of them which they give to Jehovah, I have given them to you.

⁷ And it happened after a while, that the brook dried up because there was no rain in the land.

⁶ But in all this time I was not at Jerusalem, for in the thirty-second year of Artaxerxes king of Babylon I went to the king. And after certain days I asked leave of the king,

¹⁷ And it happened, that, when the sun went down and it was dark, behold, there appeared a smoking furnace and a flaming torch that passed between these pieces.

¹² that you will set apart to Jehovah all that opens the womb. And every first-offspring which you have that comes of a beast, the males will be Jehovah's.

¹⁶ And the priest will burn them upon the altar. It is the food of the offering made by fire, for a sweet aroma. All the fat is Jehovah's. ¹⁷ It will be a everlasting statute throughout your* genealogy in all your* dwellings, that you* will eat neither fat nor blood.

²⁴ And there came out fire from before Jehovah and consumed the burnt offering and the fat upon the altar. And when all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.

³⁵ And fire came out from Jehovah and devoured the two hundred and fifty men who offered the incense.

¹⁷ But the first-offspring of an ox, or the first-offspring of a sheep, or the first-offspring of a goat, you will not redeem. They are holy. You will sprinkle their blood upon the altar and will burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet aroma to Jehovah.

²¹ Then the messenger of Jehovah put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes. And there went up fire out of the rock and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes. And the messenger of Jehovah departed out of his sight.

²⁴ And call you* on the name of your* god and I will call on the name of Jehovah. And the God that answers by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.

³⁸ Then the fire of Jehovah fell and consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust and licked up the water that was in the trench.

²⁶ And David built there an altar to Jehovah and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings and called upon Jehovah. And he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt offering.

¹ Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices. And the glory of Jehovah filled the house.

³ remember all your offerings and accept your burnt-sacrifice (Selah),

⁹ Honor Jehovah with your substance and with the first-fruits of all your increase,

²² And according to the law, I may say, almost all things are cleansed in blood and no forgiveness happens without the shedding of blood.

⁴ In faith, Abel offered a more excellent sacrifice to God than Cain, through which he was witnessed to be righteous, God testifying on the basis of his gifts and through it he still speaks, although being dead.

¹⁹ But like that of an unblemished and unstained lamb, you were redeemed by the precious blood of Christ, ²⁰ who indeed, having been known beforehand, before the conception of the world, but was manifested in the last times because of you,

⁸ And all who are dwelling upon the earth will be worshiping him, everyone whose name has not been written in the Book of Life of the lamb, who has been slaughtered from the conception of the world.

² And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and behold, it was not toward him as formerly.

⁵ and said to them, I see your* father's countenance, that it is not toward me as formerly, but the God of my father has been with me.

¹⁵ And Moses was very angry and said to Jehovah, Do not respect you their offering. I have not taken one donkey from them, neither have I hurt one of them.

² For vexation kills the foolish man and jealousy slays the silly one.

¹⁰ Say you* of the righteous, that it is well, for they will eat the fruit of their practices. ¹¹ Woe to the wicked! It is ill with him, for what his hands have done will be done to him.

¹⁵ Or is it not legal for me to do what I will in the things which are mine? Or is your eye evil, because I am good?

²⁸ But he was angry and was not willing to enter and therefore his father came out and was pleading him.
²⁹ But he answered and said to his father, Behold, I did serve you for so-many years, and I never passed over a commandment of yours, and yet you never gave me a young goat, in order that I might be joyous with my friends. ³⁰ But when this one, your son came, who has devoured your livelihood with prostitutes, you sacrificed the fattened calf for him.

⁴⁵ But the Jews, having seen the crowds, were filled up from jealousy, and were contradicting the things being spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming him.

¹¹ And David was displeased, because Jehovah had broken forth upon Uzza. And he called that place Perez-uzza, to this day. ¹² And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring the ark of God home to me? ¹³ So David did not move the ark to him into the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.

¹⁸ Come now and let us reason together, says Jehovah, though your* sins be as scarlet, they will be as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, they will be as wool.

⁵ Jehovah says thus: What unrighteousness have your* fathers found in me, that they have gone far from me and have walked after vanity and have become vain?

³¹ O generation, see you* the word of Jehovah. Have I been a wilderness to Israel, or a land of thick darkness? Why do my people say, We have broken loose. We will come no more to you?

³ O my people, what have I done to you? And in what have I wearied you? Testify against me. ⁴ For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you out of the house of bondage. And I sent before you Moses, Aaron and Miriam.
⁵ O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him. Remember from Shittim to Gilgal, that you* may know the righteous acts of Jehovah.

³¹ Now he said to him, Child, you are always with me, and all the things which are mine are yours. ³² But we ought to be joyous and rejoice, because this one, your brother was dead, and then lived again, and was perishing and then was found.

¹ Therefore as the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus is making and immersing more disciples than John, ² (although Jesus himself was not immersing, but his disciples did), ³ he left Judea and went away into Galilee.
⁴ Now it was essential for him to go through Samaria.

⁸ For his disciples had gone away into the city, in order that they might buy nourishment.
⁹ Therefore the Samaritan woman says to him, How is it that you, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, who is a Samaritan woman? (For Jews have no dealings together with Samaritans.)
¹⁰ Jesus answered and said to her, If you knew the gift of God and who it is that says to you, Give to me some water to drink; you would have asked him, and he would have given living water to you.
¹¹ The woman says to him, Lord, you have no bucket and the well is deep. Therefore from where do you have the living water?

¹⁶ He said to the woman, I will greatly multiply your pain and your childbearing, in pain you will bring forth children. And your desire will be to your husband and he will rule over you.

⁸ And Cain told Abel his brother. And it happened, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. ⁹ And Jehovah said to Cain, Where is Abel your brother? And he said, I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?
¹⁰ And he said, What have you done? ²¹ And he said to him, Behold, I have lifted up you concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow the city of which you have spoken.

²³ But if you* will not do so, behold, you* have sinned against Jehovah and be sure your* sin will find you* out.

²³ All this, O king, Araunah gives to the king. And Araunah said to the king, Jehovah your God accept you.

²⁸ And he went with Joram the son of Ahab to war against Hazael king of Syria at Ramoth-gilead and the Syrians wounded Joram.

⁴ as I was in the ripeness of my days, when the friendship of God was upon my tent,

⁸ Now therefore, take to you* seven bullocks and seven rams. And go to my servant Job and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering. And my servant Job will pray for you*, for him I will accept, that I not deal with you* after your* senselessness. For you* have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has.

⁵ To respect the person of a wicked man is not good, nor to turn aside a righteous man in judgment.

²⁷ The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination. Much more when he brings it with a wicked mind!

¹² Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and prolongs his days, yet surely I know that it will be well with those who fear God, who fear before him. ¹³ But it will not be well with a wicked man, neither will he prolong his days, which are as a shadow, because he did not fear before God.

²⁰ To what purpose does there come to me frankincense from Sheba and the sweet cane from a far country? Your* burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your* sacrifices pleasing to me.

⁸ And when you* offer the blind for sacrifice, you* say, It is no evil! and when you* offer the lame and sick, It is no evil! Present it now to your governor. Will he be pleased with you, or will he accept your person? says Jehovah of hosts.

¹⁰ Oh that there was among you* who would shut the doors, that you* might not kindle my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you*, says Jehovah of hosts, nor will I accept an offering at your* hand.

¹³ You* also say, Behold, what a weariness it is! And you* have sniffed at it, says Jehovah of hosts. And you* have brought what was taken by violence and the lame and the sick. Thus you* bring the offering.
Should I accept this at your* hand? says Jehovah.

³⁵ but in every nation, he who fears him and is working righteousness, is acceptable to him.

⁶ who will ‘repay to each according to his works.’ ⁷ Everlasting life to those who indeed by endurance in good work are seeking glory and honor and incorruption. ⁸ But to those seeking things out of selfish ambition and who are indeed disobedient to the truth, but obey unrighteousness, he will repay with fury and wrath, ⁹ affliction and distress upon every soul of man who is working evil, both of the Jew first and of the Greek. ¹⁰ But glory and honor and peace to every man who is working good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek;

¹⁶ Do you not know, that to whom you present yourselves as bondservants to obedience, you are the bondservants to whom you obey; either of sin to death or of obedience to righteousness?

⁸ But sin, having taken a starting-point, worked in me through the commandment all manner of coveting; for separate from the law sin is dead. ⁹ But I was previously living separate from the law, but when the commandment came, sin lived again through me and I died;

¹ Therefore brethren, I am encouraging you through the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing to God, which is your logical divine service.

¹⁸ For the one who is serving Christ in these things is well pleasing to God and approved by men.

¹⁶ that I might be a minister of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles, having done the sacred work of the good-news of God, in order that the offering up of the Gentiles might become acceptable, having been made holy in the Holy Spirit.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of his favor, in which he has favored us in the beloved,

⁴ But if any widow has children or grandchildren, let them learn first to be devout toward their own family and to give back reimbursement to their parents; for this is acceptable in God’s sight.

¹⁵ Thereafter when this lust has conceived, it bears sin, and sin, when it has matured, gives-birth to death.

⁵ You, yourselves, like living stones, are also built up as a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

²⁷ And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside into the midst of the gate to speak with him quietly and killed* him there in the body, so that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.

²⁶ Then Absalom said, If not, I beseech you, let my brother Amnon go with us. And the king said to him, Why should he go with you? ²⁷ But Absalom pressed him and he let Amnon and all the king's sons go with him.
²⁸ And Absalom commanded his servants, saying, Notice you* now, when Amnon's heart is merry with wine and when I say to you*, Strike Amnon, then kill him. Do not fear; have I not commanded you*? Be courageous and be valiant.

⁶ And your handmaid had two sons and they two strove together in the field and there was none to part them, but the one killed* the other and killed him.

⁹ And Joab said to Amasa, Is it well with you, my brother? And Joab took Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him.
¹⁰ But Amasa took no heed to the sword that was in Joab's hand. So he killed* him with it in the body and shed out his guts to the ground and struck him not again and he died. And Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.

² that Sanballat and Geshem sent to me, saying, Come, let us meet together in one of the villages in the plain of Ono. But they thought to do me mischief.

¹⁵ Surely then you will lift up your face without spot. Yes, you will be steadfast and will not fear.

³ Who will ascend into the hill of Jehovah? And who will stand in his holy place?
⁴ He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood and has not sworn deceitfully.
⁵ He will receive a blessing from Jehovah and righteousness from the God of his salvation. ⁶ This is the generation of those who seek after him, who seek your face, even Jacob. Selah.

³ The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit. He has ceased to be wise and to do good.

²¹ His mouth was smooth as butter, but his heart was war. His words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords.

¹⁹ Surely you will kill the wicked, O God. Depart from me therefore, you* bloodthirsty men.

²⁴ He who hates masquerades with his lips, but he lays up deceit within him. ²⁵ Because he speaks graciously, do not believe him, for there are seven abominations in his heart.
²⁶ Though his hatred cover itself with guile, his wickedness will be openly shown before the assembly.

⁶ For the son dishonors the father. The daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. A man's enemies are the men of his own house.

³⁵ so that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of Abel the righteous to the blood of Zechariah son of Barachiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.

⁴⁸ But Jesus said to him, Judas, are you giving up the Son of Man with a kiss?

²⁴ and to Jesus the intermediary of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling which speaks better than that of Abel.

¹² not like Cain who was from the evil one and slaughtered his brother. And he slaughtered him because of what? Because his works were evil but the works of his brother were righteous.
¹³ Do not marvel my brethren, if the world hates you. ¹⁴ We know that we have stepped out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother is abiding in death. ¹⁵ Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer and you know that no murderer has everlasting life abiding in him.

¹¹ Woe to them! Because they traveled in the way of Cain and poured themselves into the error of Balaam’s reward and perished in the dispute of Korah.

⁹ And Jehovah God called to the man and said to him, Where are you?
¹⁰ And he said, I heard your sound in the garden and I was afraid, because I was naked. And I hid myself.
¹¹ And he said, Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you that you should not eat?

³² And they sent the coat of many colors and they brought it to their father and said, We have found this. Know now whether it is your son's coat or not.

¹³ And you say, What does God know? Can he judge through the thick darkness? ¹⁴ Thick clouds are a covering to him, so that he does not see and he walks on the vault of heaven.

¹² Because he who makes inquiry for blood remembers them. He does not forget the cry of the poor.

¹³ Why does the wicked man despise God and say in his heart, You will not require it?
¹⁴ You have seen. Because you behold mischief and spite, to repay with your hand. The poor man commits himself to you. You have been the helper of the fatherless.

¹³ He who covers his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

⁴ When it remained unsold, was it not remaining yours? And when it was sold, was it not still in your authority? Why did you purpose this matter in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God. ⁵ But Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and expired, and there became great fear upon all those who heard these things. ⁶ Now when the younger-men stood up, they enshrouded him and carried him out and buried him.
⁷ Now it happened after an interval of approximately three hours, his wife also came in, not knowing what has happened. ⁸ But Peter answered her, Tell me if you were given so-much for the parcel of ground?
And she said, Yes, for so much.
⁹ But Peter said to her, Why is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door and they will be carrying you out.

¹³ And Jehovah God said to the woman, What is this that you have done?
And the woman said, The serpent deceived me and I ate.

⁵ And surely I will require your* blood, the blood of your* lives. I will require it at the hand of every beast. And I will require the life of man at the hand of man, even at the hand of every man's brother.

²⁰ And Jehovah said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great and because their sin is very grievous,

⁷ And Jehovah said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, because I know their sorrows.

³³ So you* will not pollute the land in which you* are, for blood, it pollutes the land. And no expiation can be made for the land for the blood that is shed in it, but by the blood of him who shed it.

¹⁹ And Joshua said to Achan, I beseech you, my son give glory to Jehovah, the God of Israel and make confession to him and tell me now what you have done. Hide it not from me.

²⁶ Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons, says Jehovah and I will requite you in this plot, says Jehovah. Now therefore take and cast him into the plot of ground, according to the word of Jehovah.

¹⁸ O earth, do not cover you my blood and let my cry have no resting place.

¹² From out of the populous city men groan and the soul of the wounded cries out. Yet God does not regard the foolishness.

³⁸ If my land cries out against me and the furrows of it weep together; ³⁹ if I have eaten the fruits of it without money, or have caused the owners of it to lose their lives,

²¹ These things you have done and I kept silence. You thought that I was altogether such a one as yourself. But I will reprove you and set them in order before your eyes.

¹⁴ He will redeem their soul from oppression and violence. And their blood will be precious in his sight,

⁷ For the vineyard of Jehovah of hosts is the house of Israel and the men of Judah his pleasant plant. And he looked for justice, but, behold, oppression, for righteousness, but, behold, a cry.

³ But Peter said, Ananias, why has the Adversary filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to pilfer part of the price of the parcel of ground?

⁹ But Peter said to her, Why is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Behold, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door and they will be carrying you out.

⁴ Behold, the wages of the workers who mowed your farmlands, the wages which have been defrauded by you, are crying out against you and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Hosts.

⁹ And when he opened the fifth seal, I saw underneath the altar the souls of those who have been slaughtered because of the word of God and because of the testimony of the lamb which they were holding to. ¹⁰ And they cried with a loud voice, saying, Until when, O holy and true Master, do you not judge and avenge our blood from those who dwell upon the earth?

¹⁴ And Jehovah God said to the serpent, Because you have done this, cursed are you above all cattle and above every beast of the field. Upon your belly you will go and dust you will eat all the days of your life.

¹⁴ Behold, you have driven me out this day from the face of the ground and I will be hid from your face and I will be a vagrant and a wanderer in the earth. And it will happen, that whoever finds me will kill me.

¹⁶ Cursed be he who dishonors his father or his mother. And all the people will say, Truly.
¹⁷ Cursed be he who removes his neighbor's landmark. And all the people will say, Truly.
¹⁸ Cursed be he who makes the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people will say, Truly.
¹⁹ Cursed be he who distorts the justice to the traveler, fatherless and widow. And all the people will say, Truly.
²⁰ Cursed be he who lies with his father's wife, because he has uncovered his father's skirt. And all the people will say, Truly.
²¹ Cursed be he who lies with any manner of beast. And all the people will say, Truly.
²² Cursed be he who lies with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people will say, Truly.
²³ Cursed be he who lies with his mother-in-law. And all the people will say, Truly.
²⁴ Cursed be he who slays his neighbor in secret. And all the people will say, Truly.
²⁵ Cursed be he who takes a bribe to kill an innocent man. And all the people will say, Truly.
²⁶ Cursed is every man who does not continue in all things written in the book of the law, to do them. And all the people will say, Truly.

¹⁵ But it will happen, if you will not listen to the voice of Jehovah your God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command you this day, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:
¹⁶ You will be cursed in the city and you will be cursed in the field. ¹⁷ Your basket and your kneading-trough will be cursed. ¹⁸ The fruit of your body and the fruit of your ground, the increase of your cattle and the young of your flock will be cursed. ¹⁹ You will be cursed when you come in and you be will cursed when you go out. ²⁰ Jehovah will send upon you cursing, confusion and rebuke, in all that you put your hand to do, until you are destroyed and until you perish quickly, because of the evil of your practices, by which you have forsaken me.

¹⁹ and it happens, when he hears the words of this curse, that he graces himself in his heart, saying, I will have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to destroy the moist with the dry.
²⁰ Jehovah will not pardon him, but then the anger of Jehovah and his jealousy will smoke against that man and all the curse that is written in this book will lie upon him and Jehovah will blot out his name from under heaven. ²¹ And Jehovah will set him apart to evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that is written in this book of the law.

³⁸ If my land cries out against me and the furrows of it weep together; ³⁹ if I have eaten the fruits of it without money, or have caused the owners of it to lose their lives, ⁴⁰ let thistles grow instead of wheat and cockle instead of barley.
The words of Job are ended.

²¹ For, behold, Jehovah comes forth out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity. The earth also will disclose her blood and will no more cover her slain.

¹⁰ For as many as are from the works of the law are under a curse; for it has been written, ‘Cursed is everyone who is not remaining in all things which have been written in the book of the law, and to practice them.’

¹⁶ And the earth helped the woman and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

¹⁷ And to Adam he said, Because you have obeyed the voice of your wife and have eaten of the tree, of which I commanded you, saying, You will not eat of it, cursed is the ground for your sake. You will eat of it in toil all the days of your life.
¹⁸ Also, it will bring forth thorns and thistles to you and you will eat the herb of the field.

²⁰ and your* strength will be spent in vain, for your* land will not yield its increase, nor will the trees of the land yield their fruit.

³⁶ And as for those who are left of you*, I will send a faintness into their heart in the lands of their enemies. And the sound of a driven leaf will chase them and they will flee as a man flees from the sword and they will fall when no man pursues.

²³ And your sky that is over your head will be brass and the earth that is under you will be iron. ²⁴ Jehovah will make the rain of your land powder and dust. From the sky it will come down upon you, until you are destroyed.

⁶⁵ And among these nations you will find no ease and there will be no rest for the sole of your foot, but Jehovah will give you there a trembling heart and failing of eyes and pining of soul. ⁶⁶ And your life will hang in doubt before you and you will fear night and day and will have no assurance of your life.

¹⁰ Let his sons be vagabonds and beg and let them seek out of their desolate places.

³ And it happened on the morrow, that Pashhur brought out Jeremiah out of the stocks. Then Jeremiah said to him, Jehovah has not called your name Pashhur, but Magor-missabib.
⁴ For Jehovah says thus, Behold, I will make you a terror to yourself and to all your friends. And they will fall by the sword of their enemies and your eyes will behold it. And I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon and he will carry them captive to Babylon and will kill them with the sword.

¹⁷ My God will cast them away because they did not listen to him and they will be wanderers among the nations.

²⁰ For the creation was subjected to futility, not voluntarily, but because of the one who subjected it, in hope

²² He does not believe that he will return out of darkness. And he is awaited by the sword.

⁹ And men were burnt with great heat and the men blasphemed the name of God who has the authority over these wounds, and they did not repent to give him glory.

¹¹ and they blasphemed the God of heaven out of their pains and out of their sores, and they did not repent from their works.

²¹ And great hail, approximately a talant’s poundage,
comes down from heaven upon men and men blasphemed God from the wound of the hail, because its wound is extremely great.

¹⁵ And Jehovah said to him, Therefore whoever kills Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold. And Jehovah appointed a sign for Cain, so that anyone who found him should not kill* him.
¹⁶ And Cain went out from the presence of Jehovah and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

⁵ And surely I will require your* blood, the blood of your* lives. I will require it at the hand of every beast. And I will require the life of man at the hand of man, even at the hand of every man's brother. ⁶ Whoever sheds man's blood, his blood will be shed by man. For in the image of God he made man.

¹⁷ And I will set my face against you* and you* will be struck before your* enemies. Those who hate you* will rule over you* and you* will flee when no man pursues you*.

¹² And the sons of Israel spoke to Moses, saying, Behold, we perish, we are undone, we are all undone. ¹³ Every man who comes near, who comes near to the tabernacle of Jehovah, dies. Shall we all of us perish?

¹⁹ The avenger of blood will himself put the murderer to death. When he meets him, he will put him to death.

²¹ or in enmity killed* him with his hand, so that he died, he who killed* him will surely be put to death. He is a murderer. The avenger of blood will put the murderer to death, when he meets him.

²⁷ and the avenger of blood find him outside the border of his city of refuge and the avenger of blood kills the manslayer, he will not be guilty of blood,

⁶⁵ And among these nations you will find no ease and there will be no rest for the sole of your foot, but Jehovah will give you there a trembling heart and failing of eyes and pining of soul.

⁷ And behold, the whole family is risen against your handmaid and they say, Deliver him who killed* his brother that we may kill him for the life of his brother whom he killed and so destroy the heir also. Thus they will quench my coal which is left and will leave to my husband neither name nor remainder upon the face of the earth.

²⁰ The wicked man travails with pain all his days, even the number of years that are laid up for the oppressor. ²¹ Sound of terrors is in his ears. In prosperity the destroyer will come upon him. ²² He does not believe that he will return out of darkness. And he is awaited by the sword. ²³ He wanders abroad for bread, saying, Where is it? He knows that the day of darkness is ready at his hand. ²⁴ Distress and anguish make him afraid. They prevail against him as a king ready to the battle.

¹⁴ And they say to God, Depart from us, for we do not desire the knowledge of your ways. ¹⁵ What is the Almighty that we should serve him? And what profit should we have, if we pray to him?

¹¹ Cast me not away from your presence and take not your holy Spirit from me. ¹² Restore to me the joy of your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit.
¹³ Then I will teach transgressors your ways and sinners will be turned to you.
¹⁴ Deliver me from blood guiltiness, O God, you God of my salvation. And my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness.

¹² Let there be none to prolong kindness to him, nor let there be any to have pity on his fatherless sons.

⁷ Make haste to answer me, O Jehovah, my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me, lest I become like those who go down into the pit.

³² An evil man is thrust down in his evil-doing, but a righteous man has hope in his death.

¹ A wicked man flees when no man pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.

²² And they will look to the earth, and behold, distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish and into thick darkness to be driven away.

³ For it happened through the anger of Jehovah, in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

³ Therefore they will be as the morning cloud and as the dew that passes away early, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the threshing-floor and as the smoke out of the chimney.

⁴¹ Then he will also say to them at the left, Travel away from me, you those who have been cursed into the everlasting fire which has been prepared for the devil and his messengers:

⁴⁶ And these will be going away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into everlasting life.

⁹ who will be suffering-punishment, the sentence of everlasting utter-destruction away from the face of the Lord, and away from the glory of his strength,

²⁴ If Cain will be avenged seven times, then Lamech seventy-seven times.

¹⁸ And if for these things you* will not yet listen to me, then I will discipline you* seven times more for your* sins.

²¹ And if you* walk contrary to me and will not listen to me, I will bring seven times more plagues upon you* according to your* sins.

²⁴ then I also will walk contrary to you* and I will kill* you*, even I, seven times for your* sins.

²⁸ then I will walk contrary to you* in wrath and I also will discipline you* seven times for your* sins.

⁷ And moreover the word of Jehovah came against Baasha by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani and against his house, both because of all the evil that he did in the sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands in being like the house of Jeroboam and because he killed* him.

¹¹ Kill them not, lest my people forget. Scatter them by your power and bring them down, O Lord our shield,

¹² and render to our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom their reproach with which they have reproached you, O Lord,

³¹ Yet if he is found, he will restore sevenfold. He will give all the substance of his house.

⁴ And Jehovah said to him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men who sigh and who cry over all the abominations that are done in the midst of it.

⁶ Kill utterly the old man, the young man and the virgin and little sons and women, but do not come near any man upon whom is the mark. And begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the old men who were before the house.

⁴ And Jehovah said to him, Call his name Jezreel, for yet a little while and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu and will cause the kingdom of the house of Israel to cease.

⁵² Then Jesus says to him, Return your sword into its place; for all those who take up the sword will be perishing with the sword.

⁹ And another, a third messenger followed them, saying in a loud voice, If anyone is worshiping the beast and his image and receives a mark upon his forehead or upon his hand,

¹¹ and the smoke of their torment is going up forevermore, and they have no rest day and night, who are worshiping the beast and his image and if anyone receives the mark of his name.

⁸ And they heard the sound of Jehovah God walking in the garden in the cool of the day. And the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of Jehovah God among the trees of the garden.

¹⁸ And all the people perceived the thunderings and the lightnings and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking. And when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off.

²³ But Jehovah was gracious to them and had compassion on them and had respect to them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and would not destroy them, neither did he cast them from his presence as yet.

²⁰ For it happened in Jerusalem and Judah through the anger of Jehovah, until he had cast them out from his presence. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

¹² And Jehovah said to Satan, Behold, all that he has is in your power, only upon himself do not put forth your hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of Jehovah.

⁷ So Satan went forth from the presence of Jehovah and killed* Job with severe boils from the sole of his foot to his crown.

¹⁷ He will not look upon the rivers, the flowing streams of honey and butter.

¹¹ But let all those who take refuge in you rejoice. Let them shout for joy everlasting, because you defend them. Let those also who love your name be joyful in you.

² As smoke is driven away, so drive them away. As wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

³⁹ therefore, behold, I will utterly forget you*. And I will cast you* off and the city that I gave to you* and to your* fathers, away from my presence.

²⁰ For where two or three have been gathered together in my name, I am there in the midst of them.

²⁶ Then you will begin to say, We ate and drank in your sight and you taught in our streets.

³ All things became through him, and without him nothing became that has become into being.

¹⁰ He was in the world and the world became through him and the world did not know him.

⁹ For they themselves are reporting concerning us, what sort of entrance we had toward you, and how you turned from idols to God, to serve a living and true God,

¹⁸ And Jared lived a hundred and sixty-two years and fathered Enoch.

²² And Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he fathered Methuselah and fathered more sons and daughters.

⁴ And they said, Come, let us build a city for us and a tower and its top in the heavens. And let us make a name for ourselves, lest we are scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.

¹⁸ Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and reared up for himself the pillar which is in the king's valley, for he said, I have no son to keep my name in remembrance. And he called the pillar after his own name and it is called Absalom's monument to this day.

¹¹ Their inward thought is that their houses are everlasting, their dwelling-places to all generations. They call their lands after their own names.

⁴ I made great works for me. I built houses for me. I planted vineyards for me. ⁵ I made gardens for me and parks and I planted trees in them of all kinds of fruit. ⁶ I made pools of water for me, to water the forest from there where trees were reared.
⁷ I bought men-servants and maid-servants and had servants born in my house. I also had great possessions of herds and flocks, above all who were before me in Jerusalem. ⁸ I also gathered silver and gold and the treasure of kings and of the provinces for me. ⁹ I got for me male-singers and female-singers and the luxuries of the sons of men and a wife and wives.
So I was great and increased more than all who were before me in Jerusalem. Also my wisdom remained with me.
¹⁰ And whatever my eyes desired I did not keep from them. I did not withhold my heart from any joy. Because my heart rejoiced because of all my labor and this was my portion from all my labor.
¹¹ Then I looked on all the works that my hands had worked and on the labor that I had labored to do, and behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind and there was no profit under the sun.

³⁰ The king spoke and said, Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for the royal dwelling-place by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?

²⁸ Likewise, even as it happened in the days of Lot; they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; ²⁹ but in the day that Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.

²¹ And Enoch lived sixty-five years and fathered Methuselah.

² Esau took his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon the Hivite,

¹⁸ And Jehovah God said, It is not good that the man should be alone, I will make a helper for him.

²⁴ Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother and will cling to his wife and the two will be one flesh.

⁴ But he answered and said to them, Have you not read, He who made them, made them male and female from the beginning. ⁵ And said, Because of this, a man will be leaving his father and mother and will be joined to his wife, and the two will be jointed into one flesh. ⁶ So-that they are no more two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has yoked together; let man not separate.

⁸ He says to them, Moses permitted you to divorce your wives for your hardness of heart, but from the beginning it has not become so.

² And again she bore his brother, Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep and Cain worked the ground.

²¹ And his brother's name was Jubal. He was the father of all those who handle the harp and pipe.

²⁷ And the boys grew. And Esau was a skillful hunter, a man of the field. And Jacob was a quiet man, dwelling in tents.

⁵⁰ These were the sons of Caleb: the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah: Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim, ⁵¹ Salmon the father of Bethlehem, Hareph the father of Beth-gader.
⁵² And Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim had sons: Haroeh, half of the Manahathites,

⁴ and Penuel the father of Gedor and Ezer the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah, the father of Bethlehem.
⁵ And Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.

⁹ nor to build houses for us to dwell in. Neither have we vineyard, nor field, nor seed, ¹⁰ but we have dwelt in tents and have obeyed and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.

¹¹ And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith of which he had in the uncircumcision, that he might be the father of all those who believe, even through uncircumcision, that righteousness might also be counted to them; ¹² and the father of circumcision, to those not only from the circumcision, but to those who also are marching in the footprints of the faith of our father Abraham which he had in uncircumcision.

⁹ In faith, he sojourned in the land of promise, as an alien, having dwelt in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the joint heirs of the same promise.

²⁷ Why did you flee secretly and creep away from me and did not tell me, that I might have sent you away with gladness and with songs, with tambourine and with harp,

¹² They sing to the timbrel and harp and rejoice at the sound of the pipe.

¹² And the harp and the lute, the tambourine and the pipe and wine, are in their feasts, but they do not regard the work of Jehovah, nor have they considered the operation of his hands.

⁵ who scatter-words to the mouth of the harp, who invent for themselves instruments of music, like David,

³ And this is the offering which you* will take of them: gold and silver and brass,

²² only the gold and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin and the lead–

⁹ a land in which you will eat bread without scarceness. You will not lack anything in it, a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you may dig copper.

²⁵ Your bars will be iron and brass and as your days, so will your strength be.

⁷ Now therefore send me a man skillful to work in gold and in silver and in brass and in iron and in purple and crimson and blue and who knows how to engrave engravings, to be with the skillful men who are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father provided.

¹³ You will not murder.

¹⁸ You will not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the sons of your people, but you will love your neighbor as yourself. I am Jehovah.

¹⁸ And he took up his oracle and said, Rise up, Balak and hear. Listen to me, you son of Zippor.

⁷ And when they told it to Jotham, he went and stood on the top of Mount Gerizim and lifted up his voice and cried out and said to them, Listen to me, you* men of Shechem, that God may listen to you*.

¹⁵ And Jehovah said to him, Therefore whoever kills Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold. And Jehovah appointed a sign for Cain, so that anyone who found him should not kill* him.

²² Jesus says to him, I do not say to you, Until seven times, but, until seventy-times seven-times.

¹ And the man knew Eve his wife and she conceived and bore Cain and said, I have gotten a man with the help of Jehovah. ² And again she bore his brother, Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep and Cain worked the ground.
³ And it happened in process of time, that Cain brought an offering to Jehovah of the fruit of the ground.

⁸ And Cain told Abel his brother. And it happened, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.

¹⁰ And he said, What have you done? The voice of your brother's blood cries to me from the ground. ¹¹ And now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood from your hand.

³ And Adam lived a hundred and thirty years and fathered a son in his own likeness, according to his image and called his name Seth. ⁴ And the days of Adam were eight hundred years after he fathered Seth. And he fathered more sons and daughters.

¹ Adam, Seth, Enosh,

³⁸ from Enos, from Seth, from Adam, who was from God.

⁸ And he moved from there to the mountain on the east of Bethel and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. And there he built an altar to Jehovah and called upon the name of Jehovah.

²⁵ And he built an altar there and called upon the name of Jehovah and pitched his tent there. And Isaac's servants dug a well there.

¹⁷ You have avowed Jehovah to be your God this day and that you would walk in his ways and keep his statutes and his commandments and his ordinances and listen to his voice.
¹⁸ And Jehovah has avowed you this day to be a people for his own possession, as he has promised you and that you should keep all his commandments,

¹⁷ I will offer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving and will call upon the name of Jehovah.

⁵ One will say, I am Jehovah's and another will call himself by the name of Jacob and another will subscribe with his hand to Jehovah and surname himself by the name of Israel.

¹ Hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel and have come forth out of the waters of Judah, who swear by the name of Jehovah and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness

¹⁹ We have become like those of old whom never ruled over you and who were not called by your name.

¹⁶ In those days Judah will be saved and Jerusalem will dwell safely. And this is the name whereby she will be called: Jehovah our righteousness.

³² And it will happen, that whoever will call on the name of Jehovah will be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, as Jehovah has said and among the remnant those whom Jehovah calls.

⁹ For then I will turn to the peoples of a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of Jehovah, to serve him with one consent.

²¹ And it will be, that everyone, whoever calls upon the name of the Lord, will be saved.’

²⁶ and having found him, he led him to Antioch. Now it happened, they were gathered together with him in the congregation a whole year and he taught a considerable crowd, and the disciples were first divinely-called Christians, in Antioch.

¹³ for everyone, ‘Whomever calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.’

² to the congregation of God which is in Corinth–those who have been made holy in Christ Jesus, called ones, holy-ones, together with all who are calling upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours:

¹⁴ Because of this, I am bowing my knees to the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, ¹⁵ from whom every family in the heavens and upon the earth is named,
