¹⁰ There will not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, a psychic, he who practices soothsaying, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,

²³ For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft and stubbornness is as idolatry and household-idol. Because you have rejected the word of Jehovah, he has also rejected you from being king.

¹³ So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against Jehovah, because of the word of Jehovah, which he did not keep and also because he asked counsel of a spiritist, to inquire of it, ¹⁴ and did not inquire of Jehovah. Therefore he killed him and turned the kingdom to David the son of Jesse.

⁶ He also made his sons to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom. And he practiced soothsaying and used enchantments and practiced sorcery and dealt with psychics and with wizards. He worked much evil in the sight of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger.

¹⁸ Son of man, the house of Israel has become dross to me. All of them are brass and tin and iron and lead, in the midst of the furnace. They are the dross of silver.

⁹ But there was a certain man, Simon by name, who was formerly in the city practicing-magic and astonishing the people of Samaria, saying that he himself was someone great. ¹⁰ To whom they were taking-heed, from the little to the great, saying, This one is the power of God, the Great. ¹¹ Now they were taking-heed to him because he had astonished them with his magic for a considerable time.

¹⁶ Now it happened, while traveling to the place of prayer, that a certain maidservant encountered us, having a spirit of divination, who was providing her lords much business by fortune-telling. ¹⁷ This maidservant was crying out, having followed after Paul and us, saying, These men are bondservants of the Highest God, who are proclaiming to us the way of salvation. ¹⁸ Now she was doing this for many days. But Paul, also being pained, turned and said to the spirit, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come forth away from her. And it came out in the same hour.
¹⁹ But when her lords saw that the hope of their business was gone, grabbing Paul and Silas, they dragged them into the marketplace in front of the rulers.

¹⁹ For it is essential for sects to be also among you, in order that those who are the approved ones may become apparent among you.

¹⁹ For you are tolerating the foolish gladly, being so prudent. \ulnone\nosupersub

¹⁰ Renounce a sectarian man after a first and second admonition;

¹ But false prophets happened to be also among the people, as false teachers will also be among you, who will be smuggling in sects of destruction, denying even the Master who bought them, bringing quick destruction upon themselves.

⁸ But to the cowardly and unbelieving and sinners and detestable and murderers and fornicators and sorcerers and idolaters and to all the false witnesses, their part will be in the lake which is burning with fire and brimstone; which is the second death.
