⁴ with three courses of great stones and a course of new timber. And let the expenses be given out of the king's house.

³⁶ And he built the inner court with three courses of hewn stone and a course of cedar beams.

²⁰ And whatever more will be needful for the house of your God, which you will have occasion to bestow, bestow it out of the king's treasure-house. ²¹ And I, even I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers who are beyond the River, that whatever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, will require of you*, it is done with all diligence, ²² to a hundred talants of silver and to a hundred measures of wheat and to a hundred baths of wine and to a hundred baths of oil and salt without prescribing how much.
²³ Whatever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be done exactly for the house of the God of heaven; for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?

²⁹ Because of your temple at Jerusalem kings will bring presents to you.

¹⁰ The kings of Tarshish and of the isles will render tribute. The kings of Sheba and Seba will offer gifts.

²³ And kings will be your nursing fathers and their queens your nursing mothers. They will bow down to you with their faces to the earth and lick the dust of your feet. And you will know that I am Jehovah and those who wait for me will not be put to shame.

⁶ The multitude of camels will cover you. The dromedaries of Midian and Ephah, all those from Sheba will come. They will bring gold and frankincense and will proclaim the praises of Jehovah. ⁷ All the flocks of Kedar will be gathered together to you. The rams of Nebaioth will minister to you. They will come up with acceptance on my altar and I will glorify the house of my glory.
⁸ Who are these that fly as a cloud and as the doves to their windows? ⁹ Surely the isles will wait for me and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, for the name of Jehovah your God and for the Holy One of Israel, because he has glorified you. ¹⁰ And foreigners will build up your walls and their kings will minister to you. For in my wrath I killed* you, but in my favor I have had mercy on you.

¹⁶ And the earth helped the woman and the earth opened her mouth and swallowed up the river which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
