¹ In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar and the thing was true, even a great warfare. And he understood the thing and had understanding of the vision.
² In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three whole weeks. ³ I ate no desirable bread. Neither flesh nor wine came into my mouth. Neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
⁴ And in the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel, ⁵ I lifted up my eyes and looked. And behold, a man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with pure gold of Uphaz. ⁶ Also his body was like the beryl and his face as the appearance of lightning and his eyes as flaming torches and his arms and his feet like burnished brass and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
⁷ And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, for the men who were with me did not see the vision, but a great quaking fell upon them and they fled to hide themselves.
⁸ So I was left alone and saw this great vision. And there remained no strength in me, for my fitness was turned in me into debility and I retained no strength. ⁹ Yet I heard the voice of his words. And when I heard the voice of his words, then I fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face toward the ground.
¹⁰ And behold, a hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands. ¹¹ And he said to me, O Daniel, you man are a great delight, understand the words that I speak to you and stand upright, for I am now sent to you. And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood, trembling.
¹² Then he said to me, Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard. And I have come for your words' sake.
¹³ But the ruler of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me. And I remained there with the kings of Persia. ¹⁴ I have come now to make you understand what will befall your people in the latter days, for the vision is yet for many days.
¹⁵ And when he had spoken to me according to these words, I set my face toward the ground and was mute. ¹⁶ And behold, someone in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips. Then I opened my mouth and spoke and said to him who stood before me, O my lord, because of the vision my pains have turned upon me and I retain no strength. ¹⁷ For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? For as for me, immediately there remained no strength in me, nor was there breath left in me.
¹⁸ Then someone like the appearance of a man touched me again and he strengthened me. ¹⁹ And he said, O man are a great delight, do not fear. Peace be to you. Be strong, yes, be strong. And when he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.
²⁰ Then he said, Do you know why I have come to you? And now I will return to fight with the ruler of Persia. And when I go forth behold, the ruler of Greece will come.
²¹ But I will tell you what is inscribed in the writing of truth. And there is none who holds with me against these, but Michael your* prince.

³² And because the dream was doubled to Pharaoh, it is because the thing is established by God and God will shortly bring it to pass.

²² Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of Jehovah by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, Jehovah stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and put it also in writing, saying,

⁷ Also Cyrus the king brought out the vessels of the house of Jehovah, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem and had put in the house of his gods, ⁸ even those Cyrus king of Persia brought out by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer and numbered them to Sheshbazzar, the ruler of Judah.

⁷ Also they gave money to the masons and to the carpenters and food and drink and oil, to those of Sidon and to those of Tyre, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea, to Joppa, according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia.

³ But Zerubbabel and Jeshua and the rest of the heads of fathers of Israel, said to them, You* have nothing to do with us in building a house to our God, but we ourselves together will build to Jehovah, the God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia has commanded us.

⁵ and hired counselors against them to frustrate their purpose all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.

¹³ But in the first year of Cyrus king of Babylon, Cyrus the king made a decree to build this house of God. ¹⁴ And also the gold and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that was in Jerusalem and brought into the temple of Babylon, those Cyrus the king took out of the temple of Babylon and they were delivered to one whose name was Sheshbazzar whom he had made governor. ¹⁵ And he said to him, Take these vessels. Go put them in the temple that is in Jerusalem and let the house of God be built in its place.
¹⁶ Then the same Sheshbazzar came and laid the foundations of the house of God which is in Jerusalem. And since that time even until now it has been in building and yet it is not completed.
¹⁷ Now therefore, if it seems good to the king, let there be search made in the king's treasure-house, which is there at Babylon, whether it is so, that a decree was made from Cyrus the king to build this house of God at Jerusalem and let the king send his pleasure to us concerning this matter.

³ In the first year of Cyrus the king, Cyrus the king made a decree: Concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, let the house be built–the place where they offer sacrifices–and let the foundations of it is strongly laid, the height of it sixty cubits and the breadth of it sixty cubits,

¹⁴ And the elders of the Jews built and prospered, through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they built and finished it according to the commandment of the God of Israel and according to the decree of Cyrus and Darius and Artaxerxes king of Persia.

²⁸ who says of Cyrus, He is my shepherd and will perform all my pleasure, even saying of Jerusalem, She will be built and of the temple, Your foundation will be laid.

⁷ And the ruler of the eunuchs gave names to them. To Daniel he gave the name of Belteshazzar and to Hananiah, of Shadrach and to Mishael, of Meshach and to Azariah, of Abed-nego.

¹⁷ Now as for these four youths, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom. And Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

²¹ And Daniel continued even to the first year of king Cyrus.

²¹ And he changes the times and the seasons. He removes kings and sets up kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.

⁸ But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods. And I told the dream before him, saying,

¹² inasmuch as an excellent spirit and knowledge and understanding, interpreting of dreams and showing of dark sentences and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar. Now let Daniel be called and he will show the interpretation.

¹⁷ Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let your gifts be to yourself and give your rewards to another. Nevertheless I will read the writing to the king and make known to him the interpretation.

²⁸ So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

¹⁶ And I heard a man's voice between the banks of the Ulai, which called and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.

²⁶ And the vision of the evenings and mornings which has been told is true. But shut up the vision, for it belongs to many days to come.

²² And he instructed me and talked with me and said, O Daniel, I have now come out to give you wisdom and understanding. ²³ At the beginning of your supplications the commandment went forth and I have come to tell you, for you are a great delight. Therefore consider the matter and understand the vision.

¹⁴ I have come now to make you understand what will befall your people in the latter days, for the vision is yet for many days.

² And now I will show you the truth. Behold, there will stand up yet three kings in Persia and the fourth will be far richer than them all. And when he has grown strong through his riches, he will stir up all against the realm of Greece.

⁴ But you, O Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, even to the time of the end. Many will run to and fro and knowledge will be increased.

⁹ And he said, Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed till the time of the end.

²⁰ And behold, you will be silent and not able to speak, till the day that these things should happen, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their time.

⁹ And he says to me, Write, the fortunate ones have been invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he says to me, These are true words of God.

⁴ Then everyone who trembled at the words of the God of Israel were assembled to me, because of the trespass of those of the captivity and I sat confounded until the evening oblation.
⁵ And at the evening oblation I arose up from my humiliation, even with my garment and my robe torn and I fell upon my knees and spread out my hands to Jehovah my God,

⁴ And it happened, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept and mourned certain days. And I fasted and prayed before the God of heaven,

⁹ I will say to God my rock, Why have you forgotten me? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

² Because you are the God of my strength. Why have you cast me off? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

¹ We sat down there by the rivers of Babylon, yes, we wept when we remembered Zion. ² We hung up our harps upon the willows in the midst of it.
³ Because those who led us captive there required of us songs and those who wasted us, gladness, saying, Sing for us one of the songs of Zion.
⁴ How will we sing Jehovah's song in a foreign land?
⁵ If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget.

¹⁰ Rejoice you* with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you* who love her. Rejoice for joy with her, all you* who mourn over her,

¹ Oh that my head were waters and my eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

²⁴ Seventy weeks are decreed upon your people and upon your holy city, to finish transgression and to make an end of sins and to make reconciliation for iniquity and to bring in everlasting righteousness and to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.
²⁵ Know therefore and discern, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem to the anointed one, the Prince, will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It will be built again, with street and moat, even in troublesome times.
²⁶ And after the sixty-two weeks the anointed one will be cut off and will have nothing. And the people of the prince who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary and the end of it will be with a flood. And even to the end will be war; desolations are determined. ²⁷ And he will make a firm covenant with many for one week. And in the midst of the week he will cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease. And upon the wing of abominations will come one who makes desolate. And even to the full end and that determined, wrath will be poured out upon the desolate.

¹⁵ And Jesus said to them, The sons of the bridal-party are not able to mourn, inasmuch as the bridegroom is with them, are they? But the days will come, whenever the bridegroom is taken away from them and then they will be fasting.

² that great sorrow is in me and constant anguish in my heart.

⁹ Be miserable and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy be turned to gloom.

⁵ And if anyone wishes to hurt them, fire travels out from their mouth and devours their enemies, and if anyone wishes to hurt them, it is essential for him to thus be killed.

²⁴ And Mephibosheth the son of Saul came down to meet the king. And he had neither dressed his feet, nor trimmed his beard, nor washed his clothes, from the day the king departed until the day he came home in peace.

²⁰ so that his life abhors bread and his soul dainty food.

⁶ Therefore the curse has devoured the earth and those who dwell in it are found guilty. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned and few men left. ⁷ The new wine mourns. The vine languishes. All the merry-hearted do sigh. ⁸ The joy of tambourine ceases. The noise of those who rejoice ends. The joy of the harp ceases. ⁹ They will not drink wine with a song. Strong drink will be bitter to those who drink it. ¹⁰ The waste city is broken down. Every house is shut up, that no man may come in. ¹¹ There is a crying in the streets because of the wine. All joy is darkened. The gladness of the land has gone.

¹⁸ Then the king went to his palace and passed the night fasting, nor were instruments of music brought before him. And his sleep fled from him.

⁸ And also their gods, with their molten images and with their desirable vessels of silver and of gold, he will carry captive into Egypt and he will refrain from the king of the north some years.

¹¹ Inasmuch therefore as you* trample upon the poor and take exactions of wheat from him. You* have built houses of hewn stone, but you* will not dwell in them. You* have planted pleasant vineyards, but you* will not drink the wine of it.

⁹ You* take the spoil of silver. Take the spoil of gold. For there is no end of the store, the glory of all desirable furniture.

¹⁷ But as for you, when you are fasting, anoint your head and wash your face

²⁷ but I am buffeting my body and enslaving it; lest somehow after having preached to others, I myself might become unapproved.

¹⁴ And the name of the third river is Hiddekel. It is that river which goes east of Assyria. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.

³ the word of Jehovah came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar and the hand of Jehovah was there upon him.

² And I saw in the vision, now it was so, that when I saw, I was in Shushan the palace, which is in the province of Elam and I saw in the vision and I was by the river Ulai.

¹³ And it happened, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, there stood a man opposite him with his sword drawn in his hand. And Joshua went to him and said to him, Are you for us, or for our adversaries?

⁵ And righteousness will be the belt of his waist and faithfulness the belt of his loins.

⁹ There is silver beaten into plates, which is brought from Tarshish and gold from Uphaz, the work of the craftsman and of the hands of the goldsmith, blue and purple for their clothing. They are all the work of skillful men.

² And behold, six men came from the way of the upper gate, which lies toward the north, each man with his slaughter weapon in his hand and one man in the midst of them clothed in linen, with a writer's case by his side. And they went in and stood beside the brazen altar.

⁶ And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, How long will it be to the end of these wonders?
⁷ And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, when he held up his right hand and his left hand to heaven and swore by him who lives everlasting that it will be for a time, times and a half. And when they have made an end of smashing the power of the holy people, all these things will be finished.

⁸ I saw in the night, and behold, a man riding upon a red horse and he stood among the myrtle trees that were in the bottom. And behind him there were horses, red, sorrel and white.

¹⁴ Therefore stand, having girded your loins in truth and having clothed yourselves with the breastplate of righteousness,

¹³ And one similar to a son of man was in the middle of the seven lamp-stands. He has clothed himself with a long-robe and the breasts are girded around with a golden belt. ¹⁴ Now his head and his hair were white like white wool, like snow, and his eyes were like a flame of fire; ¹⁵ and his feet similar to polished brass, like what has been refined in a furnace, and his voice like the voice of many waters.

⁶ and there came out from the temple the seven messengers who had the seven wounds, they were clothing themselves with clean bright flax-linen and golden belts had been girded around their chests. ⁷ And one out of the four living creatures gave to the seven messengers seven golden bowls full of the fury of God, who lives forevermore.

²⁰ and the fourth row a beryl and an onyx and a jasper. They will be enclosed in gold in their settings.

⁷ And their feet were straight feet and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot and they sparkled like burnished brass.

¹⁴ And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.

¹⁶ The appearance of the wheels and their work was like a beryl. And those four had one likeness and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel within a wheel.

²⁴ And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings like the noise of great waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a noise of tumult like the noise of a host. When they stood, they let down their wings.

⁹ And I looked, and behold, four wheels beside the cherubim, one wheel beside one cherub and another wheel beside another cherub. And the appearance of the wheels was like a beryl stone.

² And he was transfigured before them, and his face shined like the sun, and his garments became white like the light.

²⁹ And while he was praying, the form of his face was a different form, and his garments became white and dazzling.

¹³ And one similar to a son of man was in the middle of the seven lamp-stands. He has clothed himself with a long-robe and the breasts are girded around with a golden belt. ¹⁴ Now his head and his hair were white like white wool, like snow, and his eyes were like a flame of fire; ¹⁵ and his feet similar to polished brass, like what has been refined in a furnace, and his voice like the voice of many waters. ¹⁶ And he has in his right hand seven stars and a sharp two edged long-sword traveled out from his mouth and his appearance was as the sun appears in its power. ¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell like one dead at his feet. And he placed his right hand upon me, saying, Do not fear; I am the first and the last,

¹ And I saw a strong messenger coming down from heaven, having been dressed with a cloud, and the rainbow is upon his head and his face is like the sun and his feet like pillars of fire;

³ and he cried out with a loud voice, just-like a lion roars and when he cried out, the seven thunders spoke their voices.
⁴ And when the seven thunders spoke their voices, I was about to write and I heard a voice from heaven saying, Seal up the things which the seven thunders spoke and do not write them.

¹² Now his eyes are a flame of fire and upon his head are many diadems, and he has names written which no one knows except he himself.

²⁰ the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, carnelian; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, hyacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.

¹⁰ And he said, I heard your sound in the garden and I was afraid, because I was naked. And I hid myself.

¹⁷ And Elisha prayed and said, Jehovah, I beseech you, open his eyes that he may see. And Jehovah opened the eyes of the young man and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
¹⁸ And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed to Jehovah and said, I beseech you, strike this people, with blindness. And he killed* them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. ¹⁹ And Elisha said to them, This is not the way, neither is this the city. Follow me and I will bring you* to the man whom you* seek. And he led them to Samaria.
²⁰ And it happened, when they came into Samaria, that Elisha said, Jehovah, open the eyes of these men that they may see. And Jehovah opened their eyes and they saw. And behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.

¹⁰ Enter into the rock and hide you in the dust, from before the terror of Jehovah and from the glory of his majesty.

²⁴ Can any man hide himself in secret places so that I will not see him? says Jehovah. Do I not fill heaven and earth? says Jehovah.

¹⁸ Son of man, eat your bread with quaking and drink your water with trembling and with fearfulness.

⁷ But the men traveling together with him stood speechless, indeed hearing the voice, but viewing no one.

⁹ But those who were together with me indeed saw the light and became fearful, but they did not hear with understanding the voice of the one who spoke to me.

²¹ And so fearful was the manifestation, that Moses said, ‘I am fearful and trembling.

²⁴ And Jacob was left alone and a man wrestled with him until the breaking of the day. ²⁵ And when he saw that he did not prevail against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was strained as he wrestled with him.

³¹ And the sun rose upon him as he passed over Peniel and he limped upon his thigh.

³ And Moses said, I will turn aside now and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.

²⁸ Here is the end of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts troubled me much and my countenance was changed in me, but I kept the matter in my heart.

⁷ And I saw him come close to the ram. And he was moved with anger against him and killed* the ram and broke his two horns. And there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground and trampled upon him. And there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.

²⁷ And I, Daniel, fainted and was sick certain days. Then I rose up and did the king's business. And I wondered at the vision, but none understood it.

¹⁶ I heard and my body trembled. My lips quivered at the voice. Rottenness enters into my bones and I tremble in my place, because I must wait quietly for the day of trouble, for the coming up of the people who invade us.

⁶ And when the disciples heard it, they fell upon their face, and were extremely afraid.

⁶ For he did not know what he would say; for they were fearful.

³² Behold, the hour is coming and has now come, in order that you might be scattered, each one to his own and you may leave me alone and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

² I know a man in Christ, who fourteen years before, (whether in the body, I do not know or outside of the body, I do not know; God knows), such a one was seized up to the third heaven. ³ And I know such a man (whether in the body or outside of the body, I do not know; God knows),

⁷ And, in order that I should not promote myself by the excellence of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of the Adversary, in order that it might batter me, in order that I should not promote myself.

¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell like one dead at his feet. And he placed his right hand upon me, saying, Do not fear; I am the first and the last,

²¹ And Jehovah God caused a deep sleep to fall upon the man and he slept. And God took one of his ribs and closed up the flesh under it.

¹² And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram. And behold, a horror of great darkness fell upon him.

¹³ In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men,

¹⁵ In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, in slumbering upon the bed.

² I was asleep, but my heart awoke. It is the voice of my beloved who knocks, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled. For my head is filled with dew, my locks with the drops of the night.

¹⁸ Now as he was speaking with me, I fell into a deep sleep with my face toward the ground, but he touched me and set me upright.

³² Now Peter and those who were together with him were heavy with sleep; but then having thoroughly awaken, they saw his glory and the two men standing together with him.

⁴⁵ And having stood up from his prayer, he came to the disciples and found them, falling-asleep from sorrow,

⁹ Then Jehovah put forth his hand and touched my mouth. And Jehovah said to me, Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.

²¹ yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.

¹⁶ And behold, someone in the likeness of the sons of men touched my lips. Then I opened my mouth and spoke and said to him who stood before me, O my lord, because of the vision my pains have turned upon me and I retain no strength.

¹⁸ Then someone like the appearance of a man touched me again and he strengthened me.

¹⁴ fear came upon me and trembling, which made all my bones to shake. ¹⁵ Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up. ¹⁶ It stood still, but I could not discern the appearance of it. A form was before my eyes.
There was silence and I heard a voice, saying,

¹ Yes, at this my heart trembles and is moved out of its place.

¹¹ So will the king desire your beauty, because he is your lord and bow to him.

¹⁰ I am my beloved's and his desire is toward me.

¹ And he said to me, Son of man, stand upon your feet and I will speak with you.

¹⁶ And I heard a man's voice between the banks of the Ulai, which called and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.
¹⁷ So he came near where I stood. And when he came, I was frightened and fell upon my face. But he said to me, Understand, O son of man, for the vision belongs to the time of the end.

³ I ate no desirable bread. Neither flesh nor wine came into my mouth. Neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

¹⁹ And he said, O man are a great delight, do not fear. Peace be to you. Be strong, yes, be strong. And when he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.

⁸ And they went out and fled from the tomb. Now trembling and astonishment were holding them, and they said nothing to anyone; for they were afraid.

²³ But one of his disciples was reclining on Jesus’bosom, the one whom Jesus loved.

²⁰ But Peter, turning again, sees the disciple whom Jesus loved following; who also leaned-back upon his chest at the supper and who had said, Lord, who is he who is giving you up?

⁶ And trembling and amazed, he said, What do you wish me to do?
And the Lord said to him, But stand up and enter into the city and it will be spoken to you what it is essential for you to do.

¹⁶ But rise up and stand upon your feet; for to this end I have appeared to you, to assign you to be an attendant and a witness both of the things which you have seen, and of the things which will be seen by you.

²⁹ And it will be an everlasting statute to you*. In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you* will afflict your* souls and will do no manner of work, the home-born, or the stranger who travels among you*.

³¹ It is a Sabbath of solemn rest to you* and you* will afflict your* souls. It is an everlasting statute.

⁷ And on the tenth day of this seventh month you* will have a holy convocation and you* will afflict your* souls. You* will do no manner of work.

¹⁰ When I wept in my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.

⁴ Say to those who are of a fearful heart, Be strong, do not fear. Behold, your* God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you*.

¹⁰ Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

¹⁴ Do not fear, you worm Jacob and you* men of Israel. I will help you, says Jehovah and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel.

⁹ Then you will call and Jehovah will answer, you will cry and he will say, Here I am. If you take the yoke away from the midst of you, the putting forth of the finger and speaking wickedly,

²⁴ And it will happen that, before they call, I will answer and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

³ And I set my face to the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.
⁴ And I prayed to Jehovah my God and made confession and said, Oh, Lord, the great and fearful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness with those who love him and keep his commandments,

²⁰ And while I was speaking and praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and presenting my supplication before Jehovah my God for the holy mountain of my God, ²¹ yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation.

² In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three whole weeks. ³ I ate no desirable bread. Neither flesh nor wine came into my mouth. Neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.

¹¹ And he said to me, O Daniel, you man are a great delight, understand the words that I speak to you and stand upright, for I am now sent to you. And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood, trembling.

⁵ Now the messenger answered and said to the women, Do not be afraid; for I know that you are seeking Jesus, who has been crucified.

¹⁰ Then Jesus says to them, Do not be afraid. Go; report to my brethren in order that they might go into Galilee and they will be seeing me there.

⁶ Now he says to them, Do not be utterly amazed. You are seeking Jesus, the Nazarene, who has been crucified. He was raised. He is not here. Behold, the place where they laid him.

¹³ But the messenger said to him, Do not fear, Zacharias, because your supplication was heard and your wife Elisabeth will be giving-birth to a son to you and you will call his name John.

³⁰ And the messenger said to her, Do not fear, Mary; for you have found favor with God.

¹⁰ And the messenger said to them, Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good-news of great joy which will be to all the people,

³⁸ And he said to them, Why are you disturbed? And why do questions come up in your hearts?

³ He saw openly in a vision, at approximately the ninth hour of the day, a messenger of God who came to him and said to him, Cornelius.
⁴ But having stared at him and becoming fearful, said, What is it, Lord?
But he said to him, Your prayers and your charity have gone up for a memorial in God’s sight. ⁵ And now send men to Joppa and send for Simon, who is surnamed Peter.

³⁰ And Cornelius said, Four days till this hour, I was fasting and praying in the ninth hour in my house, and behold, a man stood in my sight in bright apparel, ³¹ and says, Cornelius, your prayer is heard and your charity is remembered in God’s sight.

⁹ Now the Lord said to Paul through a vision in the night, Do not be afraid, but speak out and do not be silent, ¹⁰ because I am with you and no one will be laying a hand on you to mistreat you, because there are many people in this city believing in me.

²⁴ saying, Do not fear, Paul; it is essential for you to stand-before Caesar and behold, God has granted to you all those who are sailing with you.

⁴ Then the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah and troubled them in building, ⁵ and hired counselors against them to frustrate their purpose all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia. ⁶ And in the reign of Ahasuerus, in the beginning of his reign, they wrote an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem.

²⁴ Then the work of the house of God which is at Jerusalem ceased and it ceased until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.

²⁰ Then he said, Do you know why I have come to you? And now I will return to fight with the ruler of Persia. And when I go forth behold, the ruler of Greece will come.
²¹ But I will tell you what is inscribed in the writing of truth. And there is none who holds with me against these, but Michael your* prince.

¹ And at that time Michael will stand up, the great prince who stands for the sons of your people. And there will be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time. And at that time your people will be delivered, everyone who will be found written in the book.

¹ And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the messenger of Jehovah and Satan standing at his right hand to be his adversary. ² And Jehovah said to Satan, Jehovah rebuke you, O Satan. Yes, Jehovah who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you. Is this not a brand plucked out of the fire?

¹² Because the wrestling in us is not with blood and flesh, but with the principalities, with the authorities, with the world dominions of the darkness of this age, with the spiritual ones of wickedness in the heavenly places. \ulnone\nosupersub

¹⁰ And you are fulfilled in him, who is the head of all principality and authority;

¹⁸ Hence, we wished to come to you, indeed, I, Paul, even once and then twice, and yet the Adversary hindered us.

²² who is at the right hand of God, having traveled into heaven; with messengers and authorities and powers having been made subject to him.

⁹ But Michael the archangel, when arguing with the devil, after he was reasoning concerning the body of Moses, he did not dare to bring a judging of blasphemy against him, but said, The Lord rebuke you.

⁷ And there became a war in heaven. Michael and his messengers made war with the dragon, and the dragon and his messengers made war.

¹ And Jacob called to his sons and said, gather yourselves together, that I may tell you* what will befall you* in the latter days.

³⁰ When you are in tribulation and all these things have come upon you, in the latter days you will return to Jehovah your God and listen to his voice.

²¹ And it will happen, when many evils and troubles have come upon them, that this song will testify before them as a witness, for it will not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed. For I know their imagination which they frame this day, before I have brought them into the land which I swore.

² And it will happen in the latter days, that the mountain of Jehovah's house will be established on the top of the mountains and will be exalted above the hills and all nations will flow to it.

²⁸ but there is a God in heaven who reveals secrets. And he has made known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what will be in the latter days.
Your dream and the visions of your head upon your bed, are these:

²² And he instructed me and talked with me and said, O Daniel, I have now come out to give you wisdom and understanding.

¹ In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar and the thing was true, even a great warfare. And he understood the thing and had understanding of the vision.

⁵ Afterward the sons of Israel will return and seek Jehovah their God and David their king and will come with fear to Jehovah and to his goodness in the latter days.

¹ But in the latter days it will happen, that the mountain of Jehovah's house will be established on the top of the mountains and it will be exalted above the hills and peoples will flow to it.

³ For the vision is yet for the appointed time and it breathes-out toward the end and will not lie. Though it abide, wait for it, because it will surely come. It will not delay.

¹ But know this, that grievous times will be present in the last days.

³ how shall we flee, having neglected so-great a salvation, which having received at the beginning was spoken through the Lord, which was confirmed to us from those who heard it?

²⁷ In that day your mouth will be opened to him who has escaped and you will speak and no more be mute. So you will be a sign to them. And they will know that I am Jehovah.

²² Now the hand of Jehovah had been upon me in the evening, before he who escaped came. And he had opened my mouth until he came to me in the morning. And my mouth was opened and I was no more mute.

⁹ Yet I heard the voice of his words. And when I heard the voice of his words, then I fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face toward the ground.

¹⁰ And Moses said to Jehovah, Oh, Lord, I am not a man of words, neither yesterday nor in any time past, nor since you have spoken to your servant, because I am slow of speech and of a slow tongue.

¹³ And he said, Oh, Lord, I beseech you, send by the hand of him whom you will send.

¹⁴ And he said, No, but as captain of the army of Jehovah I have now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped and said to him, What does my lord say to his servant?

¹³ And Gideon said to him, Oh, my lord, if Jehovah is with us, then why has all this befallen us? And where are all his wondrous works which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not Jehovah bring us up from Egypt? But now Jehovah has cast us off and delivered us into the hand of Midian.

¹⁵ And he said to him, Oh, Lord, with what shall I save Israel? Behold, my family is the poorest in Manasseh and I am the least in my father's house.

⁸ Then Manoah entreated Jehovah and said, Oh, Lord, I beseech you, let the man of God whom you sent come again to us and teach us what we will do to the child that will be born.

¹⁸ Because in much wisdom is much grief and he who increases knowledge increases sorrow.

⁷ And he touched my mouth with it and said, Behold, this has touched your lips and your iniquity is taken away and your sin forgiven.

²⁶ And above the expanse that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone. And upon the likeness of the throne was a likeness as the appearance of a man upon it above.

²⁷ But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth and you will say to them, The lord Jehovah says thus. He who hears, let him hear and he who forbears, let him forbear, for they are a rebellious house.

¹⁵ As for me, Daniel, my spirit was grieved in the midst of my body and the visions of my head troubled me.

¹⁵ And it happened, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, that I sought to understand it, and behold, there stood before me someone as the appearance of a man.

¹⁷ So he came near where I stood. And when he came, I was frightened and fell upon my face. But he said to me, Understand, O son of man, for the vision belongs to the time of the end.

⁵ I lifted up my eyes and looked. And behold, a man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with pure gold of Uphaz. ⁶ Also his body was like the beryl and his face as the appearance of lightning and his eyes as flaming torches and his arms and his feet like burnished brass and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.

⁸ So I was left alone and saw this great vision. And there remained no strength in me, for my fitness was turned in me into debility and I retained no strength. ⁹ Yet I heard the voice of his words. And when I heard the voice of his words, then I fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face toward the ground.
¹⁰ And behold, a hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.

¹⁷ For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? For as for me, immediately there remained no strength in me, nor was there breath left in me.
¹⁸ Then someone like the appearance of a man touched me again and he strengthened me.

⁸ And I heard, but I did not understand. Then I said, O my lord, what will be the outcome of these things?

⁶⁴ Now his mouth was instantly opened, and his tongue loosed, and he was speaking, thanking God.

¹⁵ For I will be giving you a mouth and wisdom, which all who lay in opposition to you will not be able to stand against, nor to speak against.

²⁸ And Thomas answered and said to him, My Lord and my God!

⁷ but emptied himself, having taken the form of a bondservant, having become in the likeness of men; ⁸ and having been found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, having become obedient as far as death, and even death from a cross.

¹³ And one similar to a son of man was in the middle of the seven lamp-stands. He has clothed himself with a long-robe and the breasts are girded around with a golden belt.

²⁰ and you* will say, Moreover, behold, your servant Jacob is behind us. For he said, I will appease him with the present that goes before me and afterward I will see his face. Perhaps he will accept me.

¹⁰ And they saw the God of Israel. And there was under his feet as it were a paved work of sapphire stone and as it were the very heaven for clearness. ¹¹ And he laid not his hand upon the nobles of the sons of Israel. And they beheld God and ate and drank.

²⁰ And he said, You cannot see my face, because man will not see me and live.

²² And Gideon saw that he was the messenger of Jehovah. And Gideon said, Alas, O lord Jehovah! Inasmuch as I have seen the messenger of Jehovah face to face.

²¹ But the messenger of Jehovah appeared no more to Manoah or to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was the messenger of Jehovah.
²² And Manoah said to his wife, We will surely die, because we have seen God. ²³ But his wife said to him, If Jehovah were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering and a meal offering at our hand, neither would he have shown us all these things, nor would at this time have told such things as these.

¹ In the year that king Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up and his train filled the temple. ² Above him stood the seraphim. Each one had six wings, with two he covered his face and with two he covered his feet and with two he flew.
³ And one cried to another and said, Holy, holy, holy, is Jehovah of hosts. The whole earth is full of his glory. ⁴ And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him who cried and the house was filled with vapor.
⁵ Then I said, Woe is me! For I am undone, because I am a man of unclean lips and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips. For my eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of hosts.

⁴³ He says to them, Therefore how does David in the Spirit call him Lord, saying, ⁴⁴ The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right, until I should place your enemies as the footstool of your feet?

³⁶ David himself said in the Holy Spirit, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I should place your enemies as the footstool of your feet.’

¹⁸ No one has seen God at anytime; the only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, that one has described him.

¹⁵ And David saw that Saul came out to seek his life and David was in the wilderness of Ziph in the forest.

⁵ But I would strengthen you* with my mouth and the solace of my lips would keep back your * grief.

⁶ Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? No, but he would give heed to me.

³ Strengthen you* the weak hands and confirm the feeble knees. ⁴ Say to those who are of a fearful heart, Be strong, do not fear. Behold, your* God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you*.

¹⁰ And behold, a hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.

³² But I besought concerning you, in order that your faith may not fail, and someday having turned back again, establish your brethren.

⁴³ Now a messenger from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him.

²³ And having spent some time there, he came out and went through the region of Galatia and afterwards Phrygia, further strengthening all the disciples.

⁹ And he has said to me, My grace is enough for you; for my power is completed in weakness. Therefore I will rather gladly be boasting in my weaknesses, in order that the power of the Christ might reside upon me. ¹⁰ Hence I am delighting in weaknesses, in insults, in calamities, in persecutions, in distresses, on behalf of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am mighty.

¹⁶ in order that he may give to you, according to the riches of his glory, to be powerful with his power, through his Spirit in the inward man;

¹³ I am strong in all things in the Christ, who is empowering me.

¹¹ being empowered in all power, according to the dominion of his glory, for all endurance and patience with joy,

⁶ Be strong and of good courage, for you will cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.
⁷ Only be strong and very courageous to observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded you. Turn not from it, neither to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.

⁹ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage. Do not be frightened, neither be dismayed, for Jehovah your God is with you wherever you go.

²³ And Jehovah said to him, Peace be to you. Do not fear; you will not die.

⁹ Therefore Eli said to Samuel, Go, lie down and it will be, if he calls you, that you will say, Speak, Jehovah, for your servant hears. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. ¹⁰ And Jehovah came and stood and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel said, Speak, for your servant hears.

³ You answered me in the day that I called. You encouraged me with strength in my soul.

¹ But now Jehovah says thus who created you, O Jacob and he who formed you, O Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name, You are mine. ² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, nor will the flame kindle upon you.

²³ At the beginning of your supplications the commandment went forth and I have come to tell you, for you are a great delight. Therefore consider the matter and understand the vision.

¹¹ And he said to me, O Daniel, you man are a great delight, understand the words that I speak to you and stand upright, for I am now sent to you. And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood, trembling.
¹² Then he said to me, Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard. And I have come for your words' sake.

⁴ Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, says Jehovah and be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest and be strong, all you* people of the land, says Jehovah and work. For I am with you*, says Jehovah of hosts,

⁹ Jehovah of hosts says thus: Let your* hands be strong, you* who hear in these days these words from the mouth of the prophets who were in the day that the foundation of the house of Jehovah of hosts was laid, even the temple, that it might be built.

¹³ And it will happen that, as you* were a curse among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you* and you* will be a blessing. Do not fear. Let your* hands be strong.

³⁶ Now while they are speaking these things, Jesus stood in the midst of them and says to them, Peace is to you. ³⁷ But they became terrified and fearful and were thinking that they had viewed a spirit. ³⁸ And he said to them, Why are you disturbed? And why do questions come up in your hearts?

³ Therefore the sisters sent to him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom you love is sick.

⁵ Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

³⁶ Therefore the Jews were saying, Behold how he loved him!

²⁷ I am leaving peace with you. I am giving my peace to you; not like the world gives, I am giving to you. Let your heart not be disturbed, nor let it be cowardly.

⁹ Just-as the Father has loved me, I have also loved you. Abide in my love. ¹⁰ If you keep my commandments, you will be abiding in my love; just-as I have kept my Father’s commandments and am abiding in his love. ¹¹ I have spoken to you these things, in order that my joy may abide in you and in order that your joy should be fulfilled. ¹² This is my commandment, in order that you should love one another, just-as I have loved you. ¹³ No one has greater love than this: in order that someone should lay down his life on behalf of his friends. ¹⁴ You are my friends, if you practice as many things as I command you.

³³ I have spoken to you these things, in order that you may have peace in me. You have affliction in the world, but have courage; I have overcome the world.

²⁶ Therefore, when Jesus saw his mother and the disciple, whom he loved, standing beside her, he says to his mother, Woman, behold your son!

¹³ Watch. Stand-firm in the faith. Be manly. Be powerful.

⁹ And he has said to me, My grace is enough for you; for my power is completed in weakness. Therefore I will rather gladly be boasting in my weaknesses, in order that the power of the Christ might reside upon me.

¹⁰ Furthermore, my brethren, be empowered in the Lord and in the dominion of his strength.

¹ You therefore, my child, be empowered in the grace which is in Christ Jesus.

³⁶ And the messenger of Jehovah went forth and killed* in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and eighty-five thousand. And when men arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.

⁶ After this I beheld, and behold, another, like a leopard, which had upon its back four wings of a bird. The beast also had four heads and dominion was given to it.

⁵ And as I was considering, behold, a male-goat came from the west over the face of the whole earth and did not touch the ground. And the goat had a notable horn between his eyes. ⁶ And he came to the ram that had the two horns, which I saw standing before the river and ran upon him in the fury of his power.
⁷ And I saw him come close to the ram. And he was moved with anger against him and killed* the ram and broke his two horns. And there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground and trampled upon him. And there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
⁸ And the male-goat magnified himself exceedingly. And when he was strong, the great horn was broken and instead of it there came up four notable horns toward the four winds of heaven.

²¹ And the rough male-goat is the king of Greece. And the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

¹³ But the ruler of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days, but behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me. And I remained there with the kings of Persia.

² And now I will show you the truth. Behold, there will stand up yet three kings in Persia and the fourth will be far richer than them all. And when he has grown strong through his riches, he will stir up all against the realm of Greece. ³ And a mighty king will stand up, who will rule with great dominion and do according to his will.
⁴ And when he will stand up, his kingdom will be broken and will be divided toward the four winds of heaven, but not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion with which he ruled, for his kingdom will be plucked up, even for others besides these.

²³ But instantly a messenger of the Lord struck him, because he did not give God the glory and he expired, having become maggot-eaten.

²² Let them bring forth and declare to us what will happen. Declare the former things, what they are, that we may consider them and know the latter end of them, or show us things to come.
²³ Declare the things that are to come hereafter, that we may know that you* are gods. Yes, do good, or do evil, that we may be dismayed and behold it together.

⁸ Bring forth the blind people who have eyes and the deaf who have ears.
⁹ Let all the nations be gathered together and let the peoples be assembled. Who among them can declare this and show us former things? Let them bring their witnesses that they may be justified, or let them hear and say, It is truth.

²⁵ Know therefore and discern, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem to the anointed one, the Prince, will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It will be built again, with street and moat, even in troublesome times.

¹ And as for me, in the first year of Darius the Mede, I stood up to confirm and strengthen him.
² And now I will show you the truth. Behold, there will stand up yet three kings in Persia and the fourth will be far richer than them all. And when he has grown strong through his riches, he will stir up all against the realm of Greece. ³ And a mighty king will stand up, who will rule with great dominion and do according to his will.
⁴ And when he will stand up, his kingdom will be broken and will be divided toward the four winds of heaven, but not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion with which he ruled, for his kingdom will be plucked up, even for others besides these.
⁵ And the king of the south will be strong and one of his rulers. And he will be powerful over him and have dominion. His dominion will be a great dominion. ⁶ And at the end of years they will join themselves together. And the daughter of the king of the south will come to the king of the north to make a smoothly agreement, but she will not retain the strength of her arm, nor will he stand, nor his arm. But she will be given up and also those who brought her and he who fathered her and he who strengthened her in those times.
⁷ But out of a shoot from her roots will a man stand up in his place, who will come to the army and will enter into the fortress of the king of the north and will deal against them and will prevail. ⁸ And also their gods, with their molten images and with their desirable vessels of silver and of gold, he will carry captive into Egypt and he will refrain from the king of the north some years.
⁹ And he will come into the realm of the king of the south, but he will return into his own land. ¹⁰ And his sons will war and will assemble a multitude of great forces, which will come on and overflow and pass through. And they will return and war, even to his fortress.
¹¹ And the king of the south will be moved with anger and will come out and fight with him, even with the king of the north. And he will set forth a great multitude and the multitude will be given into his hand. ¹² And the multitude will be lifted up and his heart will be exalted. And he will cast down tens of thousands, but he will not prevail.

⁷ Surely the lord Jehovah will do nothing unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets.

¹⁵ And the words of the prophets agree together with this; just-as it has been written,

¹⁸ (known to God are all his works from the age.)
