¹⁹ Yet he sent prophets to them to bring them again to Jehovah. And they testified against them, but they would not listen.

¹³ Yet Jehovah testified to Israel and to Judah, by every prophet and every seer, saying, Turn from your* evil ways and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your* fathers and which I sent to you* by my servants the prophets. ¹⁴ Notwithstanding, they would not hear, but stiffened their neck, like the neck of their fathers who did not believe in Jehovah their God.
¹⁵ And they rejected his statutes and his covenant that he made with their fathers and his testimonies which he testified to them. And they followed vanity and became vain and went after the nations that were all around them, concerning whom Jehovah had charged them that they should not do like them.

¹⁵ And Jehovah, the God of their fathers, sent to them by his messengers, rising up early and sending, because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling-place. ¹⁶ But they mocked the messengers of God and despised his words and scoffed at his prophets, until the wrath of Jehovah arose against his people, till there was no remedy.

²⁶ Nevertheless they were disobedient and rebelled against you and cast your law behind their back and killed your prophets who testified against them to turn them again to you and they worked great provocations.

⁷ Because he is our God and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand.
Today, O that you* would hear his voice! ⁸ Harden not your* heart, as in the provocation, as the day of trial in the wilderness,

²³ Listen and hear my voice, listen and hear my speech.

²³ Who is there among you* that will listen to this, that will listen and hear for the time to come?

⁴ Attend to me, O my people and listen to me, O my nation. For a law will go forth from me and I will establish my justice for a light of the peoples.

³ Incline your* ear and come to me. Hear and your* soul will live. And I will make an everlasting covenant with you*, even the faithful holy things of David.

²⁵ Since the day that your* fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt to this day, I have sent to you* all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them. ²⁶ Yet they listened not to me, nor inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff. They did worse than their fathers.

⁴ And Jehovah has sent to you* all his servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, (but you* have not listened, nor inclined your* ear to hear), ⁵ saying, Return now each one from his evil way and from the evil of your* practices and dwell in the land that Jehovah has given to you* and to your* fathers, from everlasting even to everlasting.

⁵ to listen to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I send to you*, even rising up early and sending them, but you* have not listened,

⁴ However I sent all my servants the prophets to you*, rising up early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not do this abominable thing that I hate. ⁵ But they listened not, nor inclined their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense to other gods.

⁹ He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

¹⁵ for the heart of this people has become-callous and they have selectively heard with the ears and they have closed their eyes; lest they should see with their eyes and should hear with their ears and should understand with their heart and should turn again and I will be healing them.’ ¹⁶ But your eyes are fortunate, because they are seeing, and your ears, because they are hearing.

⁴⁷ Woe to you! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and your fathers killed them. ⁴⁸ Consequently, you are testifying and consenting to the works of your fathers, because they indeed killed them, and you build their tombs. ⁴⁹ Because of this, the wisdom of God also said, I will be sending prophets and apostles to them, and some out of them they will be killing and will be banishing; ⁵⁰ in order that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the conception of the world, may be sought from this generation; ⁵¹ from the blood of Abel Yes, I say to you, It will be sought from this generation.

³¹ But he said to him, If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, if someone rises up from the dead.

⁹ Now he began to speak to the people this parable: A man planted a vineyard and rented it to farmers, and went-abroad for a considerable time. ¹⁰ And in the harvest season, he sent a bondservant to the farmers, in order that they might give to him from the fruit of the vineyard, but the farmers whipped him and sent him away empty handed. ¹¹ And he sent yet a different bondservant, and they also whipped and dishonored him, and sent him away empty. ¹² And he sent yet a third, and they also traumatized him and cast him forth. ¹³ But the lord of the vineyard said, What should I do? I will be sending my beloved son; perchance seeing him, they will be revering him. ¹⁴ But when the farmers saw him, they were reasoning with themselves, saying, This is the heir. Come-here. We should kill him, in order that the inheritance may become ours. ¹⁵ And they cast him forth outside the vineyard, and killed him. Therefore, what will the lord of the vineyard do to them?
