² And the Philistines took the ark of God and brought it into the house of Dagon and set it by Dagon.

²³ And the lords of the Philistines gathered together to offer a great sacrifice to Dagon their god and to rejoice, for they said, Our god has delivered Samson our enemy into our hand.

And you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of brass, iron, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor know. And the God in whose hand your breath is and whose are all your ways, you have not glorified.

¹¹ Then he will sweep by as a wind and will pass over and be guilty; he whose might is his god.

¹⁶ Therefore he sacrifices to his net and burns incense to his drag, because by them his portion is fat and his food plentiful.
