¹ And the child Samuel served Jehovah before Eli. And the word of Jehovah was precious in those days; there was no frequent vision.
² And it happened at that time, when Eli was laid down in his place (now his eyes had begun to grow dim so that he could not see), ³ and the lamp of God was not yet gone out and Samuel was laid down in the temple of Jehovah where the ark of God was, ⁴ that Jehovah called Samuel. And he said, Here I am.
⁵ And he ran to Eli and said, Here I am, for you called me. And he said, I did not call. Lie down again. And he went and lay down. ⁶ And Jehovah called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli and said, Here I am, for you called me. And he answered, I did not call, my son. Lie down again.
⁷ Now Samuel did not yet know Jehovah, neither was the word of Jehovah yet revealed to him. ⁸ And Jehovah called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli and said, Here I am, for you called me. And Eli perceived that Jehovah had called the child.
⁹ Therefore Eli said to Samuel, Go, lie down and it will be, if he calls you, that you will say, Speak, Jehovah, for your servant hears. So Samuel went and lay down in his place. ¹⁰ And Jehovah came and stood and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel said, Speak, for your servant hears.
¹¹ And Jehovah said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel at which both the ears of everyone who hears it will tingle. ¹² In that day I will perform against Eli all that I have spoken concerning his house, from the beginning even to the end. ¹³ For I have told him that I will judge his house everlasting, for the iniquity which he knew, because his sons brought a curse upon themselves and he did not restrain them. ¹⁴ And therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the iniquity of Eli's house will not be expiated with sacrifice nor offering everlasting.
¹⁵ And Samuel lay until the morning and opened the doors of the house of Jehovah. And Samuel was afraid to show Eli the vision. ¹⁶ Then Eli called Samuel and said, Samuel, my son. And he said, Here I am. ¹⁷ And he said, What is the thing that Jehovah has spoken to you? I beseech you, do not hide it from me. God do so to you and more also, if you hide anything from me of all the things that he spoke to you. ¹⁸ And Samuel told him every whit and hid nothing from him. And he said, It is Jehovah. Let him do what seems him good.
¹⁹ And Samuel grew and Jehovah was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. ²⁰ And all Israel from Dan even to Beer-sheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of Jehovah. ²¹ And Jehovah appeared again in Shiloh, for Jehovah revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of Jehovah.

¹¹ And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house and the child ministered to Jehovah before Eli the priest.

¹⁸ But Samuel ministered before Jehovah, being a child, girded with a linen ephod.

¹⁵ And Samuel lay until the morning and opened the doors of the house of Jehovah. And Samuel was afraid to show Eli the vision.

²¹ And Jehovah appeared again in Shiloh, for Jehovah revealed himself to Samuel in Shiloh by the word of Jehovah.

⁹ We do not see our signs. There is no more any prophet, nor any among us who knows how long.

¹² I will make a man more rare than fine gold, even a man than the pure gold of Ophir.

¹¹ Behold, the days come, says the lord Jehovah, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of Jehovah. ¹² And they will wander from sea to sea and from the north even to the east. They will run to and fro to seek the word of Jehovah and will not find it.

¹ And it happened, that when Isaac was old and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his elder son and said to him, My son. And he said to him, Here I am.

¹⁰ Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he could not see. And he brought them near to him and he kissed them and embraced them.

¹⁹ And his father refused and said, I know, my son, I know. He also will become a people and he also will be great. However, his younger brother will be greater than he and his seed will become a multitude of nations.

²² Now Eli was very old. And he heard all that his sons did to all Israel and how that they lay with the women who assembled at the door of the tent of meeting.

¹⁵ Now Eli was ninety-eight years old and his eyes were dim so that he could not see.

¹⁰ The days of our years are threescore years and ten, or even by reason of strength eighty years, yet their pride is but labor and sorrow, because it is soon gone and we fly away.

³ in the day when the keepers of the house will tremble and the strong men will bow themselves down and the grinders cease because they are few and those who look out of the windows will be darkened,

²⁰ And you will command the sons of Israel, that they bring to you pure beaten olive oil for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually ²¹ in the tent of meeting, outside the veil which is before the testimony. Aaron and his sons will keep it in order from evening to morning before Jehovah. It will be an everlasting statute throughout their genealogy from the sons of Israel.

⁷ And Aaron will burn in it incense of sweet spices. Every morning, when he dresses the lamps, he will burn it. ⁸ And when Aaron lights the lamps at evening, he will burn it, a perpetual incense before Jehovah throughout your* genealogy.

² Command the sons of Israel, that they bring to you pure beaten olive oil for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually. ³ Aaron will keep it outside the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, in order from evening to morning before Jehovah continually. It will be an everlasting statute throughout your* genealogy. ⁴ He will keep the lamps upon the pure lamp-stand in order before Jehovah continually.

⁶ And her rival provoked her greatly, to make her fret, because Jehovah had shut up her womb.

¹¹ And they burn to Jehovah every morning and every evening burnt offerings and sweet incense. Also they set the showbread in order upon the pure table and the lamp-stand of gold with the lamps of it to burn every evening. For we keep the charge of Jehovah our God, but you* have forsaken him.

⁷ But as for me, in the abundance of your loving kindness I will come into your house. I will worship toward your holy temple in your fear.

⁴ One thing I have asked of Jehovah, that I will seek after, that I may dwell in the house of Jehovah all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of Jehovah and to inquire in his temple.

⁹ The voice of Jehovah makes the female-deers to birth-calves and strips the forests bare. And in his temple everything says, Glory.

¹ And it happened after these things, that God proved Abraham and said to him, Abraham. And he said, Behold, here I am.

⁴ And when Jehovah saw that he turned aside to see, God called to him out of the midst of the bush and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here I am.

⁶ Moses and Aaron among his priests and Samuel among those who call upon his name, they called upon Jehovah and he answered them.

⁸ And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send and who will go for us? Then I said, Behold, send me.

⁴ and having fallen upon the earth, he heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?

⁶ And there are diversities of workings, but it is the same God, who is working all things in all. ⁷ But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for what is advantageous: ⁸ for the word of wisdom is given to one through the Spirit, and the word of knowledge to another according to the same Spirit; ⁹ and miraculous faith to different one in the same Spirit; and gifts of healing to another in the same Spirit; ¹⁰ and workings of miracles to another; and prophecy to another; and the discernings of spirits to another; varieties of languages to a different one; and the translation of foreign languages to another; ¹¹ but the one and the same Spirit is working all these things, sectioning off to each one in his own way just-as he wills.

²⁸ And indeed God placed some in the congregation of believers, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, thereafter miracles, thereafter gifts of healing, helps, those who pilot others, those with varieties of languages.

¹⁵ But when God was delighted–he separated me from my mother’s womb, having called me through his grace, ¹⁶ to reveal his Son in me, in order that I may proclaim the good-news of him among the nations. Immediately, I did not consult with flesh and blood;

²⁹ And he lifted up his eyes and saw Benjamin his brother, his mother's son and said, Is this your* youngest brother, of whom you* spoke to me? And he said, God be gracious to you, my son.

¹⁶ And the man said to Eli, I am he who came out of the army and I fled today out of the army. And he said, How did the matter go, my son?

²² Then Ahimaaz the son of Zadok said yet again to Joab, But come what may, I beseech you, let me also run after the Cushite. And Joab said, Why will you run, my son, seeing that you will have no reward for the news?

² And behold, they were bringing a paralytic to him, having been put upon a cot, and Jesus seeing their faith said to the paralytic, Child, have courage; your sins have been forgiven to you.

²⁴ but let he who boasts boast in this, that he has understanding and knows me, that I am Jehovah who exercises loving kindness, justice and righteousness, in the earth. For in these things I delight, says Jehovah.

² He said to them, Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?
But they said to him, But, we did not hear if there is a Holy Spirit.

¹⁴ For God speaks once, yes twice, though man does not regard it. ¹⁵ In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls upon men, in slumbering upon the bed.

¹¹ When I was an infant, I was speaking like an infant, I had the mindset like that of an infant, I was reasoning like an infant. Now that I have become a man, I have done-away-with the things of the infant. ¹² For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. I know now partially, but then I will fully know just-as I was also fully known.

¹⁹ And they said to Moses, Speak with us and we will hear, but do not let God speak with us, lest we die.

⁸ I will hear what God, Jehovah, will speak, Because he will speak peace to his people and to his holy ones. But do not let them turn again to folly.

¹⁹ And he said, O man are a great delight, do not fear. Peace be to you. Be strong, yes, be strong. And when he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.

⁶ And trembling and amazed, he said, What do you wish me to do?
And the Lord said to him, But stand up and enter into the city and it will be spoken to you what it is essential for you to do.

⁴ that Jehovah called Samuel. And he said, Here I am.
⁵ And he ran to Eli and said, Here I am, for you called me. And he said, I did not call. Lie down again. And he went and lay down. ⁶ And Jehovah called yet again, Samuel. And Samuel arose and went to Eli and said, Here I am, for you called me. And he answered, I did not call, my son. Lie down again.

⁸ And Jehovah called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli and said, Here I am, for you called me. And Eli perceived that Jehovah had called the child.

¹² therefore Jehovah says thus, the God of Israel, Behold, I bring such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever hears of it, both his ears will tingle.

¹⁹ As often as it passes though, it will take you*. For morning by morning it will pass through, by day and by night. And it will be nothing but terror to understand the report.

¹⁴ Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvelous work among this people, even a marvelous work and a wonder. I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and the understanding of their prudent men will be hidden.

³ And say, Hear the word of Jehovah, O kings of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Jehovah of hosts says thus, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, which whoever hears, his ears will tingle.

⁶ Shall the trumpet be blown in a city and the people not be afraid? Shall evil befall a city and Jehovah has not done it?
⁷ Surely the lord Jehovah will do nothing unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets.

⁵ Behold you* scoffers and look and wonder marvelously. For I am working a work in your* days, which you* will not believe though it is told you*.

²⁶ men passing-out from fear and expectation of the things which are coming upon the inhabited-earth; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

⁴¹ ‘You despisers, behold and marvel and disappear, because I am working a work in your days, a work which you may never believe, even if someone describes it to you.’

¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie, neither the son of man, that he should repent. Has he said and will he not do it? Or has he spoken and will he not make it good?

¹⁵ And it will happen, that as all the good things have come upon you* of which Jehovah your* God spoke to you*, so will Jehovah bring upon you* all the evil things, until he has destroyed you* from this good land which Jehovah your* God has given you*.

²⁷ And there came a man of God to Eli and said to him, Jehovah says thus, Did I reveal myself to the house of your father when they were in Egypt in bondage to Pharaoh's house? ²⁸ And did I choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my priest, to go up to my altar, to burn incense, to wear an ephod before me? And did I give to the house of your father all the offerings of the sons of Israel made by fire?
²⁹ Why do you* kick at my sacrifice and at my offering, which I have commanded in my habitation and honor your sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chief of all the offerings of Israel my people?
³⁰ Therefore Jehovah, the God of Israel, says, I said indeed that your house and the house of your father, should walk before me everlasting, but now Jehovah says, Be it far from me, for those who honor me I will honor and those who despise me will be lightly esteemed.
³¹ Behold, the days come, that I will cut off your arm and the arm of your father's house, that there will not be an old man in your house. ³² And you will see an enemy in my habitation, in all that I will give Israel and there will not be an old man in your house forever. ³³ And the man of your, whom I will not cut off from my altar, will be to consume your eyes and to grieve your heart. And all the increase of your house will die in the flower of their age.
³⁴ And this will be the sign to you, that will come upon your two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas: In one day they will die, both of them. ³⁵ And I will raise up for me a faithful priest who will do according to what is in my heart and in my mind. And I will build for him a sure house and he will walk before my anointed forever.
³⁶ And it will happen, that everyone who is left in your house will come and bow down to him for a piece of silver and a loaf of bread and will say, I beseech you, put me into one of the priests' offices that I may eat a morsel of bread.

⁶ But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did they not overtake your* fathers? And they turned and said, Like as Jehovah of hosts thought to do to us, according to our ways and according to our practices, so he has dealt with us.

³³ The heaven and the earth will pass away, but my words may never pass away.

¹² Now the sons of Eli were worthless men; they did not know Jehovah.

¹⁷ And the sin of the young men was very great before Jehovah, for the men despised the offering of Jehovah.

²² Now Eli was very old. And he heard all that his sons did to all Israel and how that they lay with the women who assembled at the door of the tent of meeting.
²³ And he said to them, Why do you* such things? For I hear of your* evil dealings from all this people. ²⁴ No, my sons, for it is no good report that I hear. You* make Jehovah's people to transgress. ²⁵ If one man sins against another, God will judge him, but if a man sins against Jehovah, who will entreat for him? Notwithstanding, they did not listen to the voice of their father, because Jehovah intended to kill them.
²⁶ And the child Samuel grew on and increased in favor both with Jehovah and also with men.

⁶ And his father had not displeased him at any time in saying, Why have you done so? And he was also a very handsome man. And he was born after Absalom.

⁴⁴ The king said moreover to Shimei, You know all the evil which your heart has known, what you did to David my father. Therefore Jehovah will return your evil upon your own head.

¹² O our God, will you not judge them? For we have no might against this great company that comes against us. Neither do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.

¹⁸ Chasten your son because there is hope and do not let your soul spare for his crying.

¹³ Do not withhold correction from the child, because if you beat him with the rod, he will not die. ¹⁴ You will beat him with the rod and will deliver his soul from Sheol.

¹⁵ The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself causes shame to his mother.

²² Because also your own heart knows many times that you yourself likewise have cursed others.

³ Now the end is upon you and I will send my anger upon you and will judge you according to your ways. And I will bring upon you all your abominations.

³⁰ Therefore I will judge you*, O house of Israel, each one according to his ways, says the lord Jehovah. Return and turn yourselves from all your* transgressions, so iniquity will not be your* ruin.

¹² Let the nations move themselves and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat, for there I will sit to judge all the nations all around.

³⁷ He who loves his father or mother above me is not worthy of me, and he who loves his son or daughter above me is not worthy of me.

²⁰ because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart and he knows all things.

³¹ Thus you* will separate the sons of Israel from their uncleanness, that they not die in their uncleanness when they defile my tabernacle that is in the midst of them.

³⁰ But the soul that does anything with a high hand, whether he is home-born or a traveler, the same blasphemes Jehovah and that soul will be cut off from among his people. ³¹ Because he has despised the word of Jehovah and has broken his commandment, that soul will utterly be cut off; his iniquity will be upon him.

²⁵ If one man sins against another, God will judge him, but if a man sins against Jehovah, who will entreat for him? Notwithstanding, they did not listen to the voice of their father, because Jehovah intended to kill them.

¹⁶ Because you delight not in sacrifice, else I would give it. You have no pleasure in burnt offering.

¹⁴ And Jehovah of hosts revealed himself in my ears, Surely this iniquity will not be forgiven you* till you* die, says the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.

¹⁶ Therefore pray you not for this people, nor lift up cry nor prayer for them. Neither make intercession to me, for I will not hear you.

¹ Then Jehovah said to me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind would not be toward this people. Cast them out of my sight and let them go forth.

¹³ In your filthiness is lewdness. Because I have cleansed you and you were not cleansed, you will not be cleansed from your filthiness any more, till I have caused my wrath toward you to rest.

⁴ For it is impossible that the blood of oxen and male-goats should take away sins. ⁵ Hence when he enters into the world, he says, ‘You did not wish to have sacrifice and offering, but you, yourself, completed a body for me. ⁶ You were not delighted in whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices concerning sin. ⁷ Then I said, (as it has been written concerning me in the volume of the book), Behold, I am coming to do your will, O God.’ ⁸ After saying this above, You do not wish, nor were you delighted in sacrifice and offering and whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices concerning sin, (which are offered according to the law), ⁹ then he has said, ‘Behold, I am coming to do your will, O God.’He assassinates
the first covenant, in order that he should establish the second covenant, ¹⁰ in which will, we have been made holy through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

²⁶ For when we sin willfully after the receiving of the full knowledge of the truth, then a sacrifice is left no more for us concerning sins, ²⁷ but a certain fearful expectancy of judgment and a zeal of fire which is about to eat the adversaries. ²⁸ Anyone who has rejected the Law of Moses, dies without mercy upon the word of two or three witnesses. ²⁹ How much worse punishment, do you think he will be deemed worthy of, after having trampled under foot the Son of God, and having deemed the blood of the covenant in which he was made holy as common, and having insulted the Spirit of the grace? ³⁰ For we know the one who said, ‘Vengeance is for me. I will be repaying says the Lord.’And again, ‘ The Lord will judge his people.’ ³¹ It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

⁹ So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh and after they had drunk. Now Eli the priest was sitting upon his seat by the door-post of the temple of Jehovah.

⁶ Then I said, Ah, lord Jehovah! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am a child. ⁷ But Jehovah said to me, Do not say, I am a child. For I will send you to whomever; you will go and whatever I will command you; you will speak.
⁸ Do not be afraid because of them, for I am with you to deliver you, says Jehovah.

¹⁰ Oh that there was among you* who would shut the doors, that you* might not kindle my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you*, says Jehovah of hosts, nor will I accept an offering at your* hand.

¹⁰ Now if Timothy comes, see to it, in order that he may become fearless toward you; for he is working the work of the Lord, as I also am. ¹¹ Therefore let no one scorn him. But send him onward in peace, in order that he may come to me; for I am waiting for him with the brethren.

¹⁷ Where you die, I will die and there I will be buried. Jehovah do so to me and more also, if anything but death parts you and me.

¹³ Jehovah do so to Jonathan and more also, should it please my father to do you evil, if I not disclose it to you and send you away that you may go in peace. And Jehovah be with you as he has been with my father.

³⁵ And all the people came to cause David to eat bread while it was yet day, but David swore, saying, God do so to me and more also, if I taste bread, or anything else, till the sun is down.

¹³ And say you* to Amasa, Are you not my bone and my flesh? God do so to me and more also, if you not be captain of the army before me continually in the place of Joab.

¹⁶ And the king said to him, How many times shall I make you swear that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of Jehovah?

⁵ Let a righteous man kill* me, as a kindness. And let him reprove me, as oil upon the head. Do not let my head refuse it. Because my prayer will continue even in their wickedness.

¹⁹ Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was stricken mute for a while and his thoughts troubled him. The king answered and said, Belteshazzar, do not let the dream, or the interpretation, trouble you. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, may the dream be to those who hate you and the interpretation of it to your adversaries.

⁷ Will it be said, O house of Jacob, Is the Spirit of Jehovah restricted? Are these his practices? Do not my words do good to him who walks uprightly?

⁶³ But Jesus was silent. And the high-priest answered and said to him, I implore you by the living God, in order that you should tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God?

²⁵ Far be it from you to do such a thing, to kill a righteous man with a wicked man, that so the righteous man should be as the wicked man. Far be it from you. Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

¹⁵ And the sons of Israel said to Jehovah, We have sinned. Do to us whatever seems good to you, please only deliver us this day.

¹⁰ And the king said, What have I to do with you*, you* sons of Zeruiah? Because he curses and because Jehovah has said to him, Curse David, who then will say, Why have you done so?
¹¹ And David said to Abishai and to all his servants, Behold, my son, who came out from my guts, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite? Let him alone and let him curse, for Jehovah has bidden him. ¹² It may be that Jehovah will look on the wrong done to me and that Jehovah will reward me good for his cursing of me this day.

²¹ And he said, Naked I came out of my mother's womb and naked I will return there. Jehovah gave and Jehovah has taken away, praise the name of Jehovah.

¹⁰ But he said to her, You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. What? Shall we receive good at the hand of God and will we not receive evil? In all this Job did not sin with his lips.

⁹ I was mute. I did not open my mouth, because you did it.

⁸ Then Hezekiah said to Isaiah, The word of Jehovah which you have spoken is good. He said moreover, For there will be peace and truth in my days.

³⁹ Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

⁶ Therefore humble yourselves under the powerful hand of God, in order that he may exalt you in time;

²² And it happened at that time, that Abimelech and Phicol the captain of his army spoke to Abraham, saying, God is with you in all that you do.

² And Jehovah was with Joseph. And he was a man who succeeds. And he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

²¹ But Jehovah was with Joseph and showed kindness to him and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison. ²² And the keeper of the prison committed to Joseph's hand all the prisoners who were in the prison. And whatever they did there, he was the doer of it. ²³ The keeper of the prison did not look to anything that was under his hand, because Jehovah was with him and what he did, Jehovah made it prosper.

²⁴ And the woman bore a son and called his name Samson. And the child grew and Jehovah blessed him.

²¹ And Jehovah visited Hannah and she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before Jehovah.

⁶ And he said to him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God and he is a man who is held in honor. All that he says occurs. Now let us go there, perhaps he can tell us concerning our journey on which we go.

¹⁴ And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways and Jehovah was with him.

⁵⁶ Praise Jehovah, who has given rest to his people Israel according to all that he promised. There has not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by Moses his servant.

² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, nor will the flame kindle upon you.

²⁶ who confirms the word of his servant and performs the counsel of his messengers, who says of Jerusalem, She will be inhabited and of the cities of Judah, They will be built and I will raise up the waste places of it,

²³ ‘Behold, the virgin will be pregnant, and will be bearing a son, and they will call his name Immanuel'; which is, after being translated, ‘God with us.’

²⁸ And the messenger coming to her, said, Hail! She who has been favored. The Lord is with you. You have been blessed among women.

⁸⁰ Now the child was growing and becoming-powerful in spirit and was in the wildernesses until the day of his public showing to Israel.

⁴⁰ Now the child was growing and becoming-powerful in spirit, being filled with wisdom, and the favor of God was upon him.

⁵² And Jesus was progressing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.

¹¹ Furthermore brethren: rejoice; be completed; be comforted; be mindful of the same thing; be at peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.

¹⁴ The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, is with all of you.

¹ Then all the sons of Israel went out. And the congregation was assembled as one man, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, with the land of Gilead, to Jehovah at Mizpah.

¹⁰ to transfer the kingdom from the house of Saul and to set up the throne of David over Israel and over Judah, from Dan even to Beer-sheba.

¹¹ But I counsel that all Israel be gathered together to you, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude and that you go to battle in your own person.

¹² And I have gratitude to the one who empowered me, namely, the Christ, Jesus our Lord, because he deemed me faithful, placing me into his service;

⁷ And Jehovah appeared to Abram and said, I will give this land to your seed. And there he built an altar to Jehovah, who appeared to him.

¹ After these things the word of Jehovah came to Abram in a vision, saying, Do not fear, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward.

⁶ And he said, Hear now my words. If there is a prophet among you*, I Jehovah will make myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with him in a dream.

¹ And the child Samuel served Jehovah before Eli. And the word of Jehovah was precious in those days; there was no frequent vision.

⁴ that Jehovah called Samuel. And he said, Here I am.

¹⁰ And Jehovah came and stood and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel said, Speak, for your servant hears.

⁷ Surely the lord Jehovah will do nothing unless he reveals his secret to his servants the prophets.

¹ God spoke long-ago in many parts and in many manners, in the prophets to the fathers, has spoken to us in the end of these days in his Son,
