⁶ And Solomon said, You have shown to your servant David my father great loving kindness, just-as he walked before you in truth and in righteousness and in uprightness of heart with you. And you have kept for him this great loving kindness, that you have given him a son to sit on his throne as it is this day.

⁷ My servant Moses is not so. He is faithful in all my house.

⁵ Go and tell my servant David, Jehovah says thus, Shall you build a house for me to dwell in?

⁸ Now therefore thus you will say to my servant David, Jehovah of hosts says thus, I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, that you should be prince over my people, over Israel. ⁹ And I have been with you wherever you went and have cut off all your enemies from before you. And I will make you a great name, like the name of the great ones that are on the earth.
¹⁰ And I will appoint a place for my people Israel and will plant them, that they may dwell in their own place and be moved no more. Neither will the sons of wicked afflict them any more, as at the first, ¹¹ and as from the day that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel and I will cause you to rest from all your enemies. Moreover Jehovah tells you that Jehovah will make you a house. ¹² When your days are fulfilled and you will sleep with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will proceed out of your guts and I will establish his kingdom.

⁷ And Nathan said to David, You are the man. Jehovah says thus, the God of Israel, I anointed you king over Israel and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul. ⁸ And I gave you your master's house and your master's wives into your bosom and gave you the house of Israel and of Judah. And if that had been too little, I would have added to you such and such things.

⁴⁷ Jehovah lives. And my rock is blessed. And God is exalted, the rock of my salvation, ⁴⁸ Even the God who executes vengeance for me and who brings down peoples under me, ⁴⁹ and who brings me forth from my enemies. Yes, you lift me up above those who rise up against me. You deliver me from the violent man.
⁵⁰ Therefore I will give thanks to you, O Jehovah, among gentiles and will sing praises to your name. ⁵¹ He gives great deliverance to his king and shows loving kindness to his anointed, to David and to his seed, until everlasting.

⁴⁸ And also thus said the king, Praise Jehovah, the God of Israel, who has given one of my seed to sit on my throne this day, my eyes even seeing it.

⁴ That Jehovah may establish his word which he spoke concerning me, saying, If your sons take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there will not fail you a man on the throne of Israel.

⁴ And as for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, in integrity of heart and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded you and will keep my statutes and my ordinances,

⁵ because David did what was right in the eyes of Jehovah and did not turn aside from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, except only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.

³ Remember now, O Jehovah, I beseech you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart and have done what is good in your sight. And Hezekiah wept greatly.

¹² Both riches and honor come of you and you rule over all. And in your hand is power and might. And in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all. ¹³ Now therefore, our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name.
¹⁴ But who am I and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? For all things come of you and of your own have we given you.

⁶ I will sing to Jehovah because he has dealt bountifully with me.

² He who walks uprightly and works righteousness and speaks truth in his heart,

²⁰ Jehovah has rewarded me according to my righteousness. According to the cleanness of my hands he has recompensed me. ²¹ Because I have kept the ways of Jehovah and have not wickedly departed from my God.
²² Because all his ordinances were before me and I put not away his statutes from me. ²³ I was also perfect with him and I kept myself from my iniquity.
²⁴ Therefore Jehovah has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in his eyesight.

⁷⁰ He also chose David his servant and took him from the sheepfolds. ⁷¹ He brought him from following the ewe-lambs that have their young, to be the shepherd of Jacob his people and Israel his inheritance.
⁷² So he was their shepherd according to the integrity of his heart and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.

⁷ Return to your rest, O my soul, because Jehovah has dealt bountifully with you.

¹⁷ Deal bountifully with your servant that I may live, so I will observe your word.

⁵ Therefore I deemed it necessary to encourage the brethren, in order that they should go beforehand to you, and should prearrange the bounty you have proclaimed beforehand. This is to be ready, as a bounty and not as something from greed.

¹¹ You are enriched in everything to all liberality, which is working through us thanksgiving to God.
