² For I will gather all nations to battle against Jerusalem; and the city shall be taken, and the houses plundered, and the women raped. And half of the city shall go into exile, and the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

⁹ Jehovah shall establish you a holy people to Himself, as He has sworn to you, if you shall keep the commandments of Jehovah your God and walk in His ways. ¹⁰ And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of Jehovah, and they shall be afraid of you. ¹¹ And Jehovah shall prosper you in goods, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your cattle, and in the fruit of your ground, in the land which Jehovah swore to your fathers to give you. ¹² Jehovah shall open to you His good treasure, the heaven to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. And you shall loan to many nations, and you shall not borrow. ¹³ And Jehovah shall make you the head, and not the tail. And you shall be always above, and you shall not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of Jehovah your God, which I command you today, to observe and to do them. ¹⁴ And you shall not go aside from any of the words which I command you today, to the right hand or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

²⁶ And He will lift up a banner to distant nations, and will hiss to them from the ends of the earth; and behold, they shall come with swift speed.

¹⁶ And their children shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be robbed, and their wives raped.

⁶ Behold, it is written before Me; I will not be silent, except I will repay; yea, I will repay into their bosom ⁷ your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, says Jehovah, they that burned incense on the mountains, and blasphemed Me on the hills. And I will measure their former work into their bosom. ⁸ So says Jehovah, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, Do not destroy it, for a blessing is in it; so I will do to My servants, that I may not destroy them all. ⁹ And I will bring forth a seed out of Jacob, and out of Judah one who inherits My mountains; and My elect will inherit it, and My servants will dwell there.

¹⁸ But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

¹ The Word which came to Jeremiah from Jehovah when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth (because his hand rules) and all the peoples, fought against Jerusalem and against all its cities; saying,

¹⁰ The enemy has spread out his hand upon all her desirable things; for she has seen the nations enter her holy place, whom You commanded that they should not enter into Your congregation.

¹¹ They raped the women in Zion, virgins in the cities of Judah. ¹² Rulers were hanged by the hand; the faces of elders were not honored.

⁴⁰ And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron. Since iron crushes and smashes all things; and as the iron that shatters all these, it will crush and shatter. ⁴¹ And as to that which you saw: the feet and toes, part of potters' clay and part of iron; the kingdom shall be divided. But there shall be in it the strength of the iron, because you saw the iron mixed with miry clay. ⁴² And as the toes of the feet were part of iron and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly brittle. ⁴³ And as you saw iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mix themselves with the seed of men. But they shall not cling to one another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

² I will also gather all nations and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat. And I will fight with them there for My people and for My inheritance Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and divided My land.

¹⁷ So Jehovah says this: Your wife shall be a harlot in the city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided by line. And you shall die in a defiled land; and Israel shall surely go into exile out of his land.

⁸ And it shall be in all the land, says Jehovah, two parts in it shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left in it. ⁹ And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on My name, and I will answer them; I will say, It is My people; and they shall say, Jehovah is my God.

⁷ But when the king heard, he was angry. And he sent out his armies and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

³⁷ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one killing the prophets and stoning those who are sent to her, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you would not! ³⁸ Behold, your house is left to you desolate.

¹⁵ Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place (whoever reads, let him understand). ¹⁶ Then let those in Judea flee into the mountains.

¹⁹ And woe to those who are with child, and to those who give suck in those days! ²⁰ But pray that your flight is not in the winter, nor on the sabbath day; ²¹ for then shall be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world to this time; no, nor ever shall be. ²² And unless those days should be shortened, no flesh would be saved. But for the elect's sake, those days shall be shortened.

¹⁴ But when you see the abomination of desolation, that spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not (let him who reads understand), then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

¹⁹ For in those days shall be affliction, such as has not been from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never shall be.

¹ And it happened in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

⁴³ For the days will come on you that your enemies will raise up a rampart to you, and will surround you, and will keep you in on every side. ⁴⁴ And they will tear you down, and your children within you, and will not leave a stone on a stone because you did not know the time of your visitation.

²⁰ And when you see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that its destruction has come. ²¹ And let those in Judea flee to the mountains. And those in its midst, let them go out. And those in the open spaces, let them not go into her. ²² For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. ²³ But woe to those who are with child, and to those suckling in those days! For there shall be great distress in the land and wrath on this people. ²⁴ And they shall fall by the sword's edge. And shall be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the nations until the times of the nations is fulfilled.

²⁷ Isaiah also cries concerning Israel, "Though the number of the sons of Israel is as the sands of the sea, a remnant shall be saved. ²⁸ For He is bringing the matter to an end, and cutting short in righteousness, because the Lord will make a short work on the earth." ²⁹ And as Isaiah said before, "Unless the Lord of hosts had left us a seed, we would have been as Sodom, and would have been like Gomorrah."

²⁶ But the Jerusalem from above is free, who is the mother of us all. ²⁷ For it is written, "Rejoice, barren one not bearing; break forth and shout, you not travailing; for more are the children of the desolate than she having the husband."
