² I sleep, but my heart is awake. It is the sound of my Beloved that knocks, saying, Open to Me, My sister, My love, My dove, My undefiled; for My head is filled with dew, My locks with the drops of the night.

²⁰ And Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed to him a few days, for the love he had for her.

⁴⁰ I was there; in the day the heat consumed me, and the frost by night. And my sleep departed from my eyes. ⁴¹ And I have been twenty years in your house. I served you fourteen years for your two daughters, and six for your flocks. And you have changed my wages ten times.

⁷ Lift up your heads, O gates; and be lifted up, O everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. ⁸ Who is this King of glory? Jehovah strong and mighty, Jehovah mighty in battle. ⁹ Lift up your heads, O gates; even lift up, O everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. ¹⁰ Who is this King of glory? Jehovah of Hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah.

¹⁰ I am Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.

²⁶ My son, give Me your heart, and let your eyes watch My ways.

⁸ The voice of my Beloved! Behold, He comes leaping on the mountains, skipping on the hills.

¹⁰ My Beloved spoke, and said to me, Rise up, My love, My beautiful one, and come away.

¹⁴ O My dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let Me see your face, let Me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is beautiful.

¹ By night on my bed I sought Him whom my soul loved; I sought Him, but I did not find Him.

⁷ You are all fair, My love; no blemish is in you.

⁹ You have ravished My heart, My sister, My spouse; you have ravished My heart with one of your eyes, with one chain of your neck.

¹¹ His head is like refined gold; His locks are bushy, black as a raven.

⁹ But My dove, My undefiled is one alone. She is the only one of her mother. She is the choice of her who bore her. The daughters saw her and blessed her; the queens and the concubines saw her, and they praised her.

⁹ and the roof of your mouth like the best wine for my Beloved, that goes down smoothly for my Beloved, flowing softly over the lips of sleeping ones.

⁷ Many waters cannot quench love, nor will the rivers overflow it. If a man would give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be scorned.

⁶ I gave My back to the strikers, and My cheeks to pluckers; I did not hide My face from shame and spitting.

¹⁴ Just as many were astonished at You (so much was the disfigurement from man, His appearance and His form from the sons of mankind);

³ He is despised and rejected of men; a Man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as it were a hiding of faces from Him, He being despised, and we esteemed Him not. ⁴ Surely He has borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. ⁵ But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was on Him; and with His stripes we ourselves are healed.

¹⁸ And as he was speaking with me, I was stunned, on my face toward the ground. But he touched me and set me upright.

¹ And the angel that talked with me came again and awakened me, as a man that is awakened out of his sleep.

¹⁷ so that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, "He took on Himself our weaknesses and bore our sicknesses."

⁴ But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. ⁵ While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

³⁵ For I was hungry, and you gave me food; I was thirsty, and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger, and you took Me in; ³⁶ I was naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me. ³⁷ Then the righteous shall answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry, and fed You? Or thirsty, and gave You drink? ³⁸ When did we see You a stranger, and took You in? Or naked, and clothed You? ³⁹ Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and came to You? ⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say to them, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brothers, you have done it to Me. ⁴¹ Then He also shall say to those on the left hand, Depart from Me, you cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the Devil and his angels. ⁴² For I was hungry, and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty, and you gave Me no drink; ⁴³ I was a stranger and you did not take Me in; I was naked, and you did not clothe Me; I was sick, and in prison, and you did not visit me. ⁴⁴ Then they will also answer Him, saying, Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to You? ⁴⁵ Then He shall answer them, saying, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.

⁴⁰ And He came to the disciples and found them asleep. And He said to Peter, What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? ⁴¹ Watch and pray that you enter not into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

³⁵ And rising up quite early in the night, He went out and went away into a deserted place, and He was praying there.

¹² And it happened in those days that He went out into a mountain to pray, and He was spending the night in prayer to God.

³² But Peter and those with him were heavy with sleep. But fully awakening, they saw His glory, and the two men who stood with Him.

⁴⁴ And being in an agony He prayed more earnestly. And His sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

⁴ And when he puts forth his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him. For they know his voice.

¹⁴ For the love of Christ constrains us, judging this, that if one died for all, then all died; ¹⁵ and He died for all, that the living ones may live no more to themselves, but to Him who died for them and having been raised.

²⁰ I have been crucified with Christ, and I live; yet no longer I, but Christ lives in me. And that life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith toward the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself on my behalf.

¹⁴ Therefore he says, "Awake, sleeping ones! And arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light."

⁴ You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments. And they will walk with Me in white, for they are worthy.

²⁰ Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him and he with Me.

⁴ These are those who were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, as a firstfruit to God and to the Lamb.
