¹⁰ You have broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; You have scattered Your enemies with Your strong arm.

¹⁹ And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand. ²⁰ And I will stretch out My hand and smite Egypt with all My wonders which I will do in the midst of it. And after that he will let you go.

¹ And Jehovah said to Moses, See, I have made you a god to Pharaoh. And Aaron your brother shall be your prophet. ² You shall speak all that I command you. And Aaron your brother shall speak to Pharaoh, he will send the sons of Israel out of his land. ³ And I will harden Pharaoh's heart and multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt. ⁴ But Pharaoh shall not listen to you, and I will lay My hand upon Egypt, and bring My armies, My people the sons of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments. ⁵ And the Egyptians shall know that I am Jehovah when I stretch forth My hand upon Egypt, and bring out the sons of Israel from among them. ⁶ And Moses and Aaron did as Jehovah commanded them; so they did. ⁷ And Moses was eighty years old, and Aaron was eighty-three years old, when they spoke to Pharaoh. ⁸ And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying: ⁹ When Pharaoh shall speak to you saying, Give a miracle for yourselves, you shall say to Aaron, Take your rod, and throw it in front of Pharaoh. It shall become a snake. ¹⁰ And Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh. And they did so, as Jehovah had commanded. And Aaron threw down his rod in front of Pharaoh and in front of his servants, and it became a snake. ¹¹ Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers. And they, the magicians of Egypt, did the same with their secret arts. ¹² For each man threw down his rod, and they became snakes. But Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods. ¹³ And He hardened Pharaoh's heart so that he did not listen to them, as Jehovah had said. ¹⁴ And Jehovah said to Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened. He refuses to let the people go. ¹⁵ You go to Pharaoh in the morning. Lo, he goes out to the water. And you shall stand by the river's brink until he comes. And you shall take in your hand the rod which was turned to a snake.

³⁴ Or has God gone forth to take a nation for Himself from the midst of a nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that Jehovah your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

¹¹ Do not kill them, lest my people forget; scatter them by Your power and bring them down, O Jehovah our shield.

³⁰ Rebuke the wild beasts of the reeds, the herd of bulls, with the calves of the peoples, trampling down with the pieces of silver. He scatters the people who delight in war.

⁴³ how He had set His signs in Egypt, and His wonders in the fields of Zoan. ⁴⁴ He turned their rivers into blood, and their floods, so that they could not drink. ⁴⁵ He sent different kinds of flies among them, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them. ⁴⁶ He also gave their crops to the stripping locust, and their labor to the locust. ⁴⁷ He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycamore trees with sleet. ⁴⁸ He gave up their cattle to the hail, and their flocks to bolts of fire. ⁴⁹ He sent on them the heat of His anger, wrath and fury and trouble, by sending evil angels. ⁵⁰ He made a way to His anger; He did not save their soul from death, but gave their life over to the plague, ⁵¹ and struck all the first-born in Egypt, the first of the strong in the tents of Ham; ⁵² and led His people forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock. ⁵³ And He led them on safely, so that they did not fear; but the sea flooded over their enemies. ⁵⁴ And He brought them within His own holy border, this mountain, which His right hand had bought. ⁵⁵ He also cast out the nations before them, and divided them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents. ⁵⁶ Yet they tempted and provoked the Most High God, and kept not His testimonies; ⁵⁷ but they turned back, and acted unfaithfully like their fathers; they were turned aside like a deceiving bow. ⁵⁸ For they provoked Him to anger with their high places, and moved Him to jealousy with their carved images. ⁵⁹ When God heard, He was angry, and turned away from Israel; ⁶⁰ so that He left the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which He placed among men, ⁶¹ and delivered His strength into captivity, and His glory into the enemy's hands. ⁶² He also gave His people over to the sword, and was angry with His inheritance. ⁶³ The fire burned up their young men; and their maidens were not given in marriage. ⁶⁴ Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows were not able to weep. ⁶⁵ Then the Lord awakened like one out of sleep, like a mighty man rejoicing with wine. ⁶⁶ And He drove His enemies backward; He put them to a never-ending shame. ⁶⁷ And He refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim; ⁶⁸ but chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which He loved. ⁶⁹ And He built His holy place like high palaces, like the earth which He has founded forever. ⁷⁰ He also chose David His servant, and took him from the sheepfolds; ⁷¹ from following the ewes great with young He brought him to feed Jacob His people, and Israel His inheritance. ⁷² And he fed them according to the pureness of his heart, and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.

²⁷ They showed His signs among them, and wonders in the land of Ham. ²⁸ He sent darkness, and made it dark; and they did not rebel against His Word. ²⁹ He turned their waters into blood, and killed their fish. ³⁰ Their land swarmed with frogs in the rooms of their kings. ³¹ He spoke, and there came fly swarms and gnats in all their borders. ³² He gave them hail for rain and flaming fire in their land. ³³ He struck their vines also and their fig trees, and broke the trees of their borders. ³⁴ He spoke, and locusts came, and larvae without number; ³⁵ and they ate up all the plants in their land, and ate the fruit of their ground. ³⁶ He also struck all the first-born in their land, the chief of all their strength. ³⁷ He also brought them out with silver and gold; and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. ³⁸ Egypt was glad when they departed; for the fear of them had fallen on them. ³⁹ He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light in the night. ⁴⁰ They asked, and He brought quail, and satisfied them with the food of heaven. ⁴¹ He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river. ⁴² For He remembered His holy promise and Abraham His servant. ⁴³ And He brought forth His people with joy, and His chosen with gladness, ⁴⁴ and gave them the lands of the nations; and they inherited the labor of the people, ⁴⁵ so that they might take heed to His Precepts and keep His Laws. Praise Jehovah!

⁶ Cast forth lightning and scatter them; shoot out Your arrows and destroy them.

¹ Behold, Jehovah empties the land and makes it bare, and distorts its face, and scatters its inhabitants.
