⁵ Jehovah is the portion of my inheritance, and of my cup; You shall uphold my lot.

⁹ For Jehovah's portion is His people. Jacob is the lot of His inheritance.

⁶ Yea, I have set My king on My holy hill, on Zion.

⁴ For You have maintained my right and my cause; You sat in the throne judging right.

⁶ On the wicked He shall rain snares, fire and brimstone; and a horrible tempest shall be the portion of their cup.

⁷ For the king trusts in Jehovah, and in the mercy of the Most High; he shall not be moved. ⁸ Your hand shall find out all Your enemies; Your right hand shall find out those who hate You. ⁹ You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your presence; Jehovah will swallow them up in His wrath, and the fire shall devour them. ¹⁰ Their fruit shall You destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the sons of men. ¹¹ For they intended evil against You; they imagined a wicked thing; they are not able to prevail. ¹² For You shall make them turn the back; You shall make ready Your arrows on Your strings against their faces.

⁵ You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over.

⁶ You will add to the days of the king's life; his years will be for many generations. ⁷ He shall abide before God forever; prepare mercy and truth to preserve him.

²⁶ My flesh and my heart fail; but God is the strength of my heart, and my part forever.

⁴ Your seed will I establish forever, and build up your throne to all generations. Selah.

²⁰ I have found David, My servant; with My holy oil I have anointed him. ²¹ My hand shall be always with him; My arm also shall make him strong. ²² The enemy shall not use force on him, nor the son of wickedness afflict him. ²³ And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague those who hate him. ²⁴ But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him; and in My name his horn shall be lifted up. ²⁵ I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers. ²⁶ He shall cry to Me, My Father, You are my God, and the rock of my salvation. ²⁷ And I will make him My first-born, higher than the kings of the earth. ²⁸ I will keep My mercy for him forever, and My covenant shall stand fast with him. ²⁹ Also I have set his seed forever, and his throne as the days of the heavens. ³⁰ If his children forsake My Law, and do not walk in My judgments; ³¹ if they profane My Precepts, and do not keep My Commandments; ³² then I will visit their wickedness with the rod, and their sin with stripes. ³³ But I will not completely take My loving-kindness from him, and I will not be false in My faithfulness. ³⁴ I will not break My covenant, nor change the thing that has gone out of My lips. ³⁵ Once I have sworn by My holiness that I will not lie to David. ³⁶ His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before Me. ³⁷ It shall be established forever like the moon, and like a faithful witness in the heavens. ¹ A Psalm of David. Jehovah said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand until I place Your enemies as Your footstool. ² Jehovah shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion; rule in the midst of Your enemies.

¹³ I will take the cup of salvation, and call on the name of Jehovah.

⁵⁷ CHETH: You are my portion, O Jehovah; I have said that I would keep Your Words.

³ For the rod of the wicked shall not rest on the lot of the righteous; lest the righteous put forth their hands to iniquity.

¹¹ Jehovah has sworn to David in truth; He will not turn from it; Of the fruit of your body I will set on the throne for you.

¹⁷ There I will make the horn of David to bud; I have prepared a lamp for My anointed. ¹⁸ I will clothe his enemies with shame; but his crown shall shine on him.

⁵ I cried to You, O Jehovah; I said, You are my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.

¹ Behold My Servant, whom I uphold; My Elect, in whom My soul delights. I have put My Spirit on Him; He shall bring out judgment to the nations.

¹² Therefore I will divide to Him with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He has poured out His soul to death; and He was counted among the transgressors; and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for transgressors.

¹⁶ The Portion of Jacob is not like them; for He is the Maker of all things; and Israel is the rod of His inheritance. Jehovah of Hosts is His name.

²⁴ Jehovah is my portion, says my soul; therefore I will hope in Him.

³² God raised up this Jesus, of which we all are witnesses.

³¹ This One God has exalted to be a Ruler and Savior to His right hand in order to give repentance and remission of sins to Israel.

²⁵ for it is right for Him to reign until He has put all the enemies under His feet.

¹⁸ And do not be drunk with wine, in which is excess, but be filled with the Spirit,
