⁸ It is better to trust in Jehovah than to trust in man.

⁴ Blessed is the man who makes Jehovah his trust and does not turn to the proud, nor to those who turn aside to a lie.

⁸ Trust in Him at all times; you people, pour out your heart before Him; God is a hiding-place for us. Selah. ⁹ Surely the sons of men are vanity; the sons of men are a lie; they go up in the scales; they are altogether lighter than vanity.

⁵ So says Jehovah, Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from Jehovah. ⁶ For he shall be like a juniper in the desert, and shall not see when good comes. But he shall live in the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land that is not inhabited. ⁷ Blessed is the man who trusts in Jehovah, and Jehovah is his trust.

⁵ Put no trust in a friend; put no hope in a guide; keep the door of your mouth from her who lies in your bosom. ⁶ For the son dishonors the father; the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. A man's enemies are the men of his own household. ⁷ Therefore I will look to Jehovah; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me!
