Psalms 106 Cross References - MKJV

1 Praise Jehovah. O give thanks to Jehovah; for He is good; for His mercy endures forever. 2 Who can utter the mighty acts of Jehovah, or cause all His praise to be heard? 3 Blessed are those who keep judgment, he who does righteousness at all times. 4 Remember me, O Jehovah, with the favor of Your people; O visit me with Your salvation, 5 that I may see the good of Your chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation, to glory with Your inheritance. 6 We have sinned with our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly. 7 Our fathers did not understand Your wonders in Egypt; they did not remember the multitude of Your mercies, but rebelled at the sea, even at the Red Sea. 8 But He saved them for His name's sake, to make His mighty power known. 9 And He rebuked the Red Sea, and it was dried up; so He led them through the depths, as through the wilderness. 10 And He saved them from the hand of the hater, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. 11 And the waters covered their enemies; there was not one of them left. 12 Then they believed His Words; they sang His praise. 13 They hurried and forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel; 14 but they lusted greedily in the wilderness, and tested God in the desert. 15 And He gave them what they asked, but sent leanness into their soul. 16 And they were jealous of Moses in the camp, and Aaron the saint of Jehovah. 17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram. 18 And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked. 19 They made a calf in Horeb, and worshiped the melted image. 20 And they changed their Glory into the likeness of an ox that eats grass. 21 They forgot God their Deliverer, who had done great things in Egypt; 22 wonderful works in the land of Ham, fearful things by the Red Sea. 23 And He said that He would destroy them, if Moses His chosen had not stood before Him in the breach, to turn away His wrath, so that He should not destroy them. 24 And they despised the pleasant land; they did not believe His Word, 25 but murmured in their tents, and did not listen to the voice of Jehovah. 26 And He lifted up His hand to them, to overthrow them in the wilderness; 27 to overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands. 28 And they joined themselves to Baal-peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead, 29 and provoked Him to anger with their doings; and the plague broke in on them. 30 Then Phinehas stood and interceded, and the plague was stayed. 31 And it was counted to him for righteousness to all generations forevermore. 32 And they angered Him at the waters of strife so that it went ill with Moses for their sakes; 33 because they provoked his spirit so that he spoke rashly with his lips. 34 They did not destroy the nations as Jehovah commanded them; 35 but were mixed among the nations, and learned their works. 36 And they served their idols, which were a snare to them. 37 Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons, 38 and shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; and the land was defiled with blood. 39 And they were defiled with their works, and went lusting in their doings. 40 And the wrath of Jehovah was kindled against His people, and He detested His inheritance. 41 And He gave them into the hand of the nations; and those who hated them ruled over them. 42 And their enemies oppressed them, and they were humbled under their hand. 43 Many times He delivered them, but they rebelled in their counsel and sank in their iniquities. 44 And He looked on their affliction when He heard their cry; 45 and He remembered His covenant for them, and was moved to pity, according to the multitude of His mercies. 46 And He gave them to tender mercies before the face of all their captors. 47 Save us, O Jehovah our God, and gather us from among the nations, to give thanks to Your holy name and to triumph in Your praise. 48 Blessed is Jehovah, the God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting; and let all the people say, Amen. Praise Jehovah!

For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. 13 And Moses said to the people, Do not fear. Stand still and see the salvation of Jehovah, which He will prepare for you this day. For the Egyptians whom you have seen today, you shall never see them anymore.

And Aaron made proclamation and said, Tomorrow is a feast to Jehovah. 6 And they rose up early on the next day and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings. And the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play. 7 And Jehovah said to Moses, Go! Get down, for your people, whom you brought out of the land of Egypt, are corrupted. 8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them. Turn from Your fierce wrath, and be moved to pity as to this evil against Your people. 13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, Your servants, to whom You swore by Your own self, and said to them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give to your seed, and they shall inherit it forever. 14 And Jehovah repented as to the evil which He spoke of doing to His people.

And he that gathered least gathered ten homers. And they spread them out for themselves all around the camp. 33 And while the flesh was yet between their teeth, before it was chewed, the wrath of Jehovah was kindled against the people, and Jehovah struck the people with a very great plague. 34 And he called the name of that place Graves of Lust, because there they buried the people that lusted.

1 Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, took both Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben; 2 even they rose up before Moses with some of the sons of Israel, two hundred and fifty rulers of the assembly, elect men in the congregation, men who were well-known. 3 And they gathered themselves against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, You take too much upon you, since all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and Jehovah is among them. Why then do you lift yourselves up above the congregation of Jehovah? 4 And Moses heard and fell on his face. 5 And he spoke to Korah and to all his company, saying, Even tomorrow Jehovah will show who are His, and him who is holy, and will cause him to come near to Him; even him whom He has chosen, He will cause to come near to Him.

Numbers 16:5

5 And he spoke to Korah and to all his company, saying, Even tomorrow Jehovah will show who are His, and him who is holy, and will cause him to come near to Him; even him whom He has chosen, He will cause to come near to Him. 6 Do this. Take fire-pans, Korah and all his company, 7 and put fire in them, and put incense in them before Jehovah tomorrow. And it shall be the man whom Jehovah chooses, he shall be holy. You take too much upon you, sons of Levi! 8 And Moses said to Korah, Hear now you sons of Levi; 9 is it only a small thing to you that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near Himself to do the service of the tabernacle of Jehovah and to stand before the congregation to minister to them? 10 And He has brought you near, and all your brothers the sons of Levi with you. And do you seek the priesthood also? 11 For this cause you and all your company are gathered against Jehovah. And what is Aaron, that you murmur against him? 12 And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab. And they said, We will not come up. 13 Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land that flows with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, but must you also seize dominion over us? 14 Besides, you have not brought us into a land that flows with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance in fields and vineyards. Will you put out the eyes of these men? We will not come up. 15 And Moses was very angry, and said to Jehovah, Do not respect their offering. I have not taken one ass from them, neither have I hurt one of them. 16 And Moses said to Korah, Stand before Jehovah, you and all your company, you and they, and Aaron, tomorrow. 17 And every man take his fire-pan and put incense in them, and let every man bring his fire-pan before Jehovah, two hundred and fifty fire-pans, you also, and Aaron, each with his fire-pan. 18 And every man took his fire-pan and put fire in them, and laid incense on it, and stood in the door of the tabernacle of the congregation with Moses and Aaron. 19 And Korah gathered all the congregation against them, to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And the glory of Jehovah appeared to all the congregation. 20 And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, 21 Separate yourselves from among this congregation, so that I may devour them in a moment. 22 And they fell upon their faces and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin and will You be angry with all the congregation? 23 And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying, 24 Speak to the congregation saying, Get away from the tent of Korah and Dathan and Abiram. 25 And Moses rose up and went to Dathan and Abiram. And the elders of Israel followed him. 26 And he spoke to the congregation, saying, I pray you, get away from the tents of these wicked men. And touch nothing of theirs lest you be destroyed in all their sins. 27 So they got away from the tent of Korah, Dathan and Abiram, on every side. And Dathan and Abiram came out and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their infants. 28 And Moses said, By this you shall know that Jehovah has sent me to do all these works, and that not from my own heart. 29 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they are visited according to the examination of all men, Jehovah has not sent me.

Numbers 16:29-33

29 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they are visited according to the examination of all men, Jehovah has not sent me. 30 But if Jehovah makes a new thing, and the earth opens her mouth and swallows them up with all that they have, and they go down alive into the pit, then you shall understand that these men have provoked Jehovah.

30 But if Jehovah makes a new thing, and the earth opens her mouth and swallows them up with all that they have, and they go down alive into the pit, then you shall understand that these men have provoked Jehovah. 31 And it happened, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, the ground under them split apart.

And they shall be a sign to the sons of Israel.

38 The fire-pans of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them into broad plates, a covering for the altar; for they offered them before Jehovah, therefore they are made holy. 40 a memorial to the sons of Israel, that no stranger not of the seed of Aaron may come near to offer incense before Jehovah, so that he may not be as Korah and as his company, as Jehovah said to him by the hand of Moses. 41 But on the next day all the congregation of the sons of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron saying, You have killed the people of Jehovah. 42 And it happened when the congregation was gathered together against Moses and against Aaron, they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation. And behold! The cloud covered it, and the glory of Jehovah appeared. 43 And Moses and Aaron came before the tabernacle of the congregation. 44 And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying, 45 Get away from this congregation so that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces. 46 And Moses said to Aaron, Take a fire-pan, and put fire in it from the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly to the congregation and make an atonement for them. For wrath has gone out from Jehovah. The plague has begun. 47 And Aaron did as Moses commanded and ran into the midst of the congregation. And behold! The plague had begun among the people. And he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people. 48 And he stood between the dead and the living, and the plague was stayed. 49 And those who died in the plague were fourteen thousand, seven hundred, besides the ones who died about the matter of Korah. 50 And Aaron returned to Moses to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and the plague was stayed.

Numbers 20:2-13

2 And there was no water for the congregation. And they gathered themselves against Moses and against Aaron. 3 And the people contended with Moses and spoke, saying, Oh that we had died when our brothers died before Jehovah! 4 And why have you brought up the congregation of Jehovah into this wilderness, so that we and our cattle should die there? 5 And why have you made us to come up out of Egypt, to bring us into this evil place? It is no place of seed or of figs or of vines or of pomegranates. And there is no water to drink. 6 And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces. And the glory of Jehovah appeared to them. 7 And Jehovah spoke to Moses saying, 8 Take the rod, and gather the assembly, you and Aaron your brother, and speak to the rock before their eyes. And it shall give forth its water, and you shall bring forth to them water out of the rock. So you shall give the congregation and their animals drink. 9 And Moses took the rod from before Jehovah as He commanded him. 10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said to them, Hear now you rebels. Numbers 20:11-11

11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he struck the rock twice. And the water came out plentifully, and the congregation and their animals drank. 12 And Jehovah spoke to Moses and Aaron, Because you did not believe Me, to sanctify Me in the eyes of the sons of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. 13 These are the Waters of Strife, because the sons of Israel fought with Jehovah, and He showed Himself holy among them.

Numbers 20:23-24

23 And Jehovah spoke to Moses and Aaron in Mount Hor, by the border of the land of Edom, saying, 24 Aaron shall be gathered to his people. For he shall not enter into the land which I have given to the sons of Israel, because you rebelled against My word at the Waters of Strife.

Numbers 25:5

5 And Moses said to the judges of Israel, Every one of you kill his men who were joined to Baal-peor. 6 And behold! One of the sons of Israel came and brought to his brothers a woman of Midian, before the eyes of Moses, and before all the congregation of the sons of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 7 And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation and took a spear in his hand. 8 And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and pierced both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman, through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the sons of Israel. 9 And those that died in the plague were twenty-four thousand.

Numbers 25:11-13

11 Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned My wrath away from the sons of Israel while he was zealous for My sake among them, so that I did not destroy the sons of Israel in My jealousy. 12 Therefore say, Behold! I give him My covenant of peace. 13 And he shall have it, and his seed after him, the covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the sons of Israel. 14 And the name of the Israelite who was killed, he who was struck with the woman of Midian, was Zimri, the son of Salu, ruler of a chief house of the Simeonites. 15 And the Midianite woman's name who was killed was Cosbi, the daughter of Zur. Numbers 33:55-56

55 But if you will not drive out the people of the land from before you, then it will be, those of them whom you let remain shall be goads in your eyes and thorns in your sides, and they shall trouble you in the land in which you live. 56 And it shall be, as I thought to do to them, so I shall do to you.

Deuteronomy 4:26-27

26 I call Heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that you shall soon utterly perish from off the land which you are crossing over Jordan to possess. You shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed. 27 And Jehovah shall scatter you among the nations, and you shall be left few in number among the nations where Jehovah shall drive you.

Deuteronomy 4:34

34 Or has God gone forth to take a nation for Himself from the midst of a nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that Jehovah your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

Deuteronomy 8:7-9

7 For Jehovah your God brings you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and depths that spring out of valleys and hills, 8 a land of wheat and barley and vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey, 9 a land in which you shall eat bread without want. Deuteronomy 9:13-14

13 And Jehovah spoke to me saying: I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiff-necked people. 14 Let Me alone, so that I may destroy them and blot out their name from under the heavens. And I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they.

Deuteronomy 9:14-14

14 Let Me alone, so that I may destroy them and blot out their name from under the heavens. And I will make of you a nation mightier and greater than they. 15 So I turned and came down from the mountain, and the mountain burned with fire. And the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands. 16 And I looked, and behold! You had sinned against Jehovah your God, and had made you a molten calf. You had turned aside quickly out of the way which Jehovah had commanded you.

19 For I was afraid of the anger and fury with which Jehovah was angry against you to destroy you. But Jehovah listened to me at that time also.

Deuteronomy 9:21

21 And I took your sin, the calf which you had made, and burned it with fire, and stamped it, grinding it very small, until it was as small as dust. And I threw the dust of it into the torrent that descended out of the mountain. 22 And at Taberah, and at Massah, and at the Graves of Lust, you provoked Jehovah to anger. 23 And when Jehovah sent you from Kadesh-barnea, saying: Go up and possess the land which I have given you, then you rebelled against the commandment of Jehovah your God, and you did not believe Him, nor listened to His voice.

Deuteronomy 11:11-12

11 But the land which you are entering to possess it is a land of hills and valleys, drinking water from the rain of the heavens. 12 It is a land which Jehovah your God cares for. The eyes of Jehovah your God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even to the end of the year.

Deuteronomy 12:30-31

30 take heed to yourself that you do not become snared by following them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not ask about their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods, that I too may do likewise? 31 You shall not do so to Jehovah your God. For every abomination to Jehovah, which He hates, they have done to their gods; even their sons and their daughters they have burned in the fire to their gods.

Deuteronomy 13:9-11

9 But you shall surely kill him. Your hand shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people. 10 And you shall stone him with stones so that he dies, because he has sought to drive you away from Jehovah your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of slaves. 11 And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this among you.

Deuteronomy 13:15-17

15 you shall surely strike those who live in that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it completely, and all that is in it, and all the cattle of it, with the edge of the sword. 16 And you shall gather all its spoil into the middle of its street, and shall burn the city with fire, and all its spoil, every bit of it, for Jehovah your God. And it shall be a heap forever. It shall not be built again. 17 And let nothing of the cursed thing cling to your hand, so that Jehovah may turn from the heat of His anger and show you mercy, and give mercies to you, and multiply you as He has sworn to your fathers,

15 And you shall remember that you were a slave in the land of Egypt, and Jehovah your God redeemed you. Therefore I command you this thing today.

9 So you shall put away innocent blood from among you, when you do the right in the sight of Jehovah.

Deuteronomy 28:64-65

64 And Jehovah shall scatter you among all people, from the one end of the earth even to the other, and you shall serve other gods there, which neither you nor your fathers have known, wood and stone. 65 And among these nations you shall find no ease, neither shall the sole of your foot have rest. But Jehovah shall give you there a trembling heart and failing of eyes and sorrow of mind.

4 Yet Jehovah has not given you a heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, until today.

17 They sacrificed to devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new ones newly come up, whom your fathers did not fear.

Deuteronomy 32:17-21

18 You forgot the Rock who brought you forth, and ceased to care for God who formed you. 19 And Jehovah saw, and despised them because of the provoking of His sons and of His daughters.

Deuteronomy 32:19

19 And Jehovah saw, and despised them because of the provoking of His sons and of His daughters. 20 And He said, I will hide My face from them; I will see what their end shall be. For they are a very perverse generation, sons in whom is no faithfulness. 21 They have moved Me to jealousy with a no-god. They have provoked Me to anger with their vanities. And I will move them to jealousy with a no-people. I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

Deuteronomy 32:26-27

26 I said I would dash them to pieces; I would make the memory of them to cease from among men, 27 were it not the provocation of an enemy I feared, lest their enemies should misconstrue; lest they should say, Our hand is high and Jehovah has not done all this. 28 For they are a nation without wisdom, neither is there any understanding in them. 29 If they were wise, they would understand this; they would consider their latter end! 30 How shall one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them and Jehovah had shut them up?

36 For Jehovah will bring His people justice; and He shall have compassion on His servants, for He sees that their power is gone, and only the imprisoned and abandoned remain.

12 Yet the sons of Manasseh were not able to occupy these cities, but the Canaanites wanted to live in that land. 13 And it happened when the sons of Israel had become strong, they put the Canaanites to tribute. But they did not completely drive them out. 14 The sons of Joseph spoke to Joshua saying, Why have you given me one lot and one portion to inherit, since I am a great people, because Jehovah has blessed me until now? 15 And Joshua answered them, If you are a great people, and if mount Ephraim is too narrow for you, get up to the forest and cut down more for yourself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants. 16 And the sons of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us. And all the Canaanites who live in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, those who are of Beth-shean and its towns, and those who are of the valley of Jezreel.

But those who lived in Beth-shemesh and Beth-anath became tributaries to them. 34 And the Amorites forced the sons of Dan into the mountain. For they would not allow them to come down to the valley. 35 But the Amorites desired to stay in Mount Heres in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim. Yet the hand of the house of Joseph was heavy so that they became tributaries. 36 And the border of the Amorites was from the going up to Akrabbim, from the rock and upward.

Judges 2:2-3

2 And you shall make no treaty with those who live in this land. You shall throw down their altars. But you have not obeyed My voice. And they were greatly distressed. 16 But Jehovah raised up judges who delivered them out of the hand of those who spoiled them. 17 And yet they would not listen to their judges, but they went lusting after other gods, and bowed themselves to them. They turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, for they had obeyed the commandments of Jehovah; these did not do so.

Judges 2:17-18

17 And yet they would not listen to their judges, but they went lusting after other gods, and bowed themselves to them. For Jehovah took pity because of their groanings before their oppressors and their crushers.

Judges 2:18

18 And when Jehovah raised judges up for them, then Jehovah was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge. For Jehovah took pity because of their groanings before their oppressors and their crushers. 19 And it happened when the judge was dead, they returned and made themselves more rotten than their fathers in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down to them. They did not cease from their own doings nor from their stubborn way. 20 And the anger of Jehovah glowed against Israel. And He said, Because this nation has transgressed My covenant which I commanded their fathers, and has not listened to My voice,

8 And the sons of Israel said to Samuel, Do not cease from crying to Jehovah our God for us, so that He will save us out of the hand of the Philistines. 9 And Samuel took a suckling lamb, and offered a whole burnt offering to Jehovah. And Samuel cried to Jehovah for Israel, and Jehovah answered him. 10 And it happened as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel. But Jehovah thundered with a great noise on that day on the Philistines, and troubled them. And they were beaten before Israel. 11 And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and struck them as far as below Beth-car. 12 And Samuel took a stone and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Jehovah has helped us until now.

And they built high places in all their cities for themselves, from the Watch Tower to the fortified city. 10 And they set up images and Asherahs for themselves in every high hill, and under every green tree. 11 And they burned incense in all the high places, like the nations whom Jehovah had removed from before them; and did evil things to provoke Jehovah to anger.

10 and gave out signs and wonders upon Pharaoh and upon all his servants and upon all the people of his land. For You knew that they were acting proudly against them. And their pursuers You threw into the deep, like a stone into the mighty waters.

27 And You delivered them into the hand of their enemies, who troubled them. And in the time of their trouble, they cried to You, and You heard from Heaven. And according to Your manifold mercies, You gave them deliverers, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies. 28 But after they had rest, they did evil again before You, and You left them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had the rule over them. But they returned and cried to You, and You heard from Heaven. And many times You delivered them according to Your mercies, 29 and testified against them that You might bring them again to Your Law. But they acted proudly and did not listen to Your commandments, but sinned against Your judgments (which if a man do, he shall live in them), and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear. 30 And many years You had patience with them, and testified against them by Your Spirit, by Your prophets, but they would not give ear. And You gave them into the hand of the people of the lands. 31 But for Your great mercies, You did not completely destroy them nor forsake them. For You are a gracious and merciful God. 32 And now, our God, the great, the mighty, and the fearful God, who keeps covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble that has come upon us, on our kings, on our rulers, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all Your people, since the time of the kings of Assyria to this day, seem little before You.

Nehemiah 9:33-38

33 But You are just in all that is brought upon us, for You have done right, but we have done wickedly. 34 And our kings, our rulers, our priests, and our fathers, have not kept Your Law, nor listened to Your commandments and Your words with which You testified against them.

Nehemiah 9:34-38

34 And our kings, our rulers, our priests, and our fathers, have not kept Your Law, nor listened to Your commandments and Your words with which You testified against them. 35 For they have not served You in their kingdom, and in Your great goodness which You gave them, and in the large and rich land which You gave before them, and they did not turn from their wicked works. 36 Behold, we are servants today. And the land that You gave to our fathers to eat its fruit, and its good, behold, we are servants in it. 37 And it yields much increase to the kings whom You have set over us because of our sins. And they rule over our bodies, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and we are in great distress. 38 And because of all this we are cutting a sure covenant, and write it, and our princes, Levites, and priests are sealing it.

Or what likeness will you compare to Him? 19 The workman melts a graven image, and the goldsmith spreads it over with gold, and casts silver chains. 20 He too poor for that offering chooses a tree that will not rot; he looks for a skillful workman to prepare a graven image that will not totter. 21 Have you not known? Have you not heard? Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth? 22 It is He who sits on the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in; 23 who brings the rulers to nothing; He makes the judges of the earth as vanity. 24 Yes, they shall not be planted; yes, they shall not be sown. Yes, their stump shall not take root in the earth. And He shall also blow on them, and they shall wither, and the tempest shall take them away like stubble. 25 To whom then will you compare Me, or am I equaled? says the Holy One.

She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and has fornicated there. 7 And I said after she had done all these things, Turn to Me! But she did not return. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it. 8 And I saw, when for all the causes for which backsliding Israel committed adultery, I sent her away and gave a bill of divorce to her, yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but she went and whored, she also. 9 And it happened, from the folly of her whoredom, she defiled the land and fornicated with stones and stocks.

15 But you trusted in your beauty, and played the harlot because of your name, and poured out your fornications on all who passed by; it was his. 16 And you took from your clothes and adorned your high places with different colors, and fornicated on them, such as had not come, nor shall be. 17 And you have taken beautiful things of My gold and of My silver, which I had given you, and made images of males, and fornicated with them. 18 And you took your embroidered dresses and covered them, and you have given to their face My oil and My incense. 19 Also My food which I gave you, fine flour and oil and honey with which I fed you, you have given it to their face for a soothing aroma. And it happened, says the Lord Jehovah. 20 And you have taken your sons and your daughters, whom you have borne to Me, and you gave these to them for food. Are your fornications small?

Ezekiel 16:20-21

20 And you have taken your sons and your daughters, whom you have borne to Me, and you gave these to them for food. Are your fornications small? 21 You have slaughtered My sons and gave them to cause these to pass through the fire for them.

Ezekiel 16:21-21

21 You have slaughtered My sons and gave them to cause these to pass through the fire for them. 22 And in all your hateful deeds and your fornications you have not remembered the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, and squirming in your blood. 23 Woe, woe to you says the Lord Jehovah! For it happened after all your evil, 24 that you have also built yourself a mound, and you have made yourself a high place in every street. 25 You have built your high place at the head of every way, and have made your beauty to be despised, and have opened your feet to everyone who passed by, and have multiplied your fornications. 26 You have also whored with the Egyptians, your neighbors great of flesh, and have multiplied your fornications to provoke Me to anger. 27 And, behold, therefore I have stretched out My hand over you, and drew back your portion. And I gave you to the will of those who hate you, the daughters of the Philistines, who are ashamed of your wicked way. 28 You have whored with the Assyrians, without your being satisfied; yea, you whored and yet you were not satisfied. 29 And your whoredom is idolatry in the land of Canaan, to the Chaldean, and yet you were not satisfied with this. 30 How weak is your heart, says the Lord Jehovah, since you do all these, the work of a woman, an overbearing harlot; 31 in that you build your mound at the head of every way, and make your high place in every street. Yet you have not been as a harlot, scorning wages. 32 Like the adulterous wife, instead of her husband, she takes strangers. 33 They give a gift to all harlots, but you give your gifts to all your lovers, and bribe them to come to you from all around, for your fornication. 34 And in you was the opposite from those women in your fornications, since no one whores after you, and in your giving wages, and hire is not given to you. In this you are opposite. 35 Therefore, O harlot, hear the Word of Jehovah. 36 So says the Lord Jehovah: Because your lewdness was poured out and your nakedness was bared in your fornications with your lovers, and with all the idols of your abominations, and by the blood of your sons whom you gave to them; 37 behold, therefore I will gather all your lovers, with whom you have been pleased, even all whom you loved, with all whom you have hated; I will even gather them against you from all around, and will uncover your nakedness to them, and they will see all your nakedness. 38 And I will judge you with judgments of adulteresses, and with shedders of blood. And I will give you blood and fury and jealousy. 39 And I will also give you into their hand, and they will tear down your mound, and will demolish your high places. They shall also strip you of your clothes, and shall take your beautiful things, and leave you naked and bare. 40 They shall also raise a company against you, and they shall stone you with stones, and cut you with their swords. 41 And they shall burn your houses with fire, and execute judgments on you in the sight of many women. And I will make you stop whoring; and also, you shall not give hire again. 42 And I will make My fury to rest against you, and My jealousy shall depart from you, and I will be quiet and will be angry no more. 43 Because you have not remembered the days of your youth, but have troubled Me in all these things; so, behold, I will also repay your way on your head, says the Lord Jehovah. And you shall not commit this wickedness above all your abominations. 44 Behold, all who use proverbs shall use this proverb against you, saying, As the mother, so is her daughter. 45 You are your mother's daughter, who despises her husband and her sons. And you are the sister of your sisters, who despise their husbands and their sons. Your mother was a Hittite, and your father an Amorite. 46 And your older sister is Samaria, she and her daughters who dwell at your left hand. And your younger sister, who dwells at your right hand, is Sodom and her daughters. 47 Yet you have not walked according to their ways, nor done according to their hateful deeds; but, as if it were a very little thing, you were corrupted more than they were in all your ways. 48 As I live, says the Lord Jehovah, Sodom your sister, she nor her daughters, has not done as you have done, you and your daughters. 49 Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom; pride. Fullness of bread and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters. Nor did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. 50 And they were haughty and did abominable things before Me, so I turned away as I saw fit. 51 Nor has Samaria sinned as much as half your sins; but you have multiplied your abominations more than they, and have justified your sisters in all your abominations which you have done. 52 You also, who have judged your sisters, bear your own shame for your sins which you have committed more abominable than they. They are more righteous than you! Yes, blush and bear your shame, since you have justified your sisters. 53 When I shall return their captivity, the captivity of Sodom and her daughters, and the captivity of Samaria and her daughters, then also the captivity of your captivity in their midst; 54 that you may bear your shame, and blush in all that you have done, since you are a comfort to them. 55 When your sisters, Sodom and her daughters, shall return to their former state, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former state, then you and your daughters shall return to your former state. 56 For your sister Sodom was not mentioned by your mouth in the day of your pride, 57 before your wickedness was uncovered, as at the time of your reproach of the daughters of Syria, and of all her neighbors, the daughters of the Philistines who hated you from all around. 58 You are bearing your wickedness and your abominations, says Jehovah. 59 For so says the Lord Jehovah: I will even deal with you as you have done, who have despised the oath in breaking the covenant. 60 But I will remember My covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish to you an everlasting covenant. 61 And you shall remember your ways and be ashamed, when you shall receive your sisters, your older and your younger. And I will give them to you for daughters, but not by your covenant. 62 And I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall know that I am Jehovah; 63 so that you may remember and be ashamed; and it will not be possible to open your mouth any more because of your shame; in that I am propitiated for all that you have done, says the Lord Jehovah.

Ezekiel 18:21-22

21 But if the wicked will turn from all his sins which he has committed, and keep all My statutes, and do justice and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. 22 All his transgressions that he has done, they shall not be mentioned to him; in his righteousness that he has done he shall live.

And I said, I will pour out My fury against them to fulfill My anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt. 9 But I worked for My name's sake, that it should not be profaned before the nations among whom they were, for I made Myself known to them in their eyes, by bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

Ezekiel 20:13-14

13 But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes, and they despised My judgments, which if a man does, he shall even live in them. And I said, I will pour out My fury on them in the wilderness to destroy them. 14 But I worked for My name's sake, so that it should not be profaned before the nations in whose sight I brought them out.

Ezekiel 20:14-14

14 But I worked for My name's sake, so that it should not be profaned before the nations in whose sight I brought them out. 15 And also I lifted up My hand to them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey; it is the glory of all lands;

Ezekiel 20:28-32

28 When I had brought them into the land for which I lifted up My hand to give it to them, then they saw every high hill, and all the thick trees, and they offered their sacrifices there. And there they offered their provoking gifts. There also they made their sweet aroma, and poured out their drink offerings there. 29 And I said to them, What is the high place to which you go? And the name of it is called High Place to this day. 30 Therefore say to the house of Israel, So says the Lord Jehovah: Are you defiled in the same way as your fathers? And do you go whoring after their abominations?

Ezekiel 20:30-31

30 Therefore say to the house of Israel, So says the Lord Jehovah: Are you defiled in the same way as your fathers? And do you go whoring after their abominations? 31 For when you offer your gifts, when you make your sons to pass through the fire, you defile yourselves with all your idols, even to this day. And shall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I Live, says the Lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you.

Ezekiel 20:31-31

31 For when you offer your gifts, when you make your sons to pass through the fire, you defile yourselves with all your idols, even to this day. And shall I be inquired of by you, O house of Israel? As I Live, says the Lord Jehovah, I will not be inquired of by you. 32 And what comes up on your spirit shall not happen at all, that you say, We will be like the nations, like the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.

Ezekiel 20:43

43 And there you shall remember your ways and all your doings in which you have been defiled. And you shall despise yourselves in your own sight for all your evils which you have committed. 44 And you shall know that I am Jehovah when I have worked with you for My name's sake, not according to your wicked ways nor according to your corrupt doings, O house of Israel, says the Lord Jehovah.

Ezekiel 23:3-49

3 And they fornicated in Egypt; they whored in their youth, their breasts were handled, and there their virgin nipples were worked. 4 And their names were Oholah, the oldest, and Oholibah, her sister. And they were Mine, and they bore sons and daughters. And their names: Samaria is Oholah, and Jerusalem is Oholibah. 5 And Oholah whored under Me. And she lusted after her lovers, to her Assyrian neighbors, 6 clothed with purple, governors and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding horses. 7 So she bestowed her harlotries on them, the choice sons of Assyria; with all of them, and with all whom she lusted after; she defiled herself with all their idols. 8 Nor did she leave her fornications from Egypt. For in her youth they lay with her, and they worked her virgin nipples, and poured their fornications on her. 9 Therefore I have given her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians on whom she lusted. 10 They uncovered her nakedness. They took her sons and her daughters and killed her with the sword. And she became notorious among women, and they executed judgment on her. 11 And her sister Oholibah saw, she was more corrupt in her lustfulness than she, and her fornications were greater than her sister's whoredom. 12 She lusted to the sons of Assyria, governors and rulers nearby, clothed most perfectly; horsemen riding horses, all of them desirable young men. 13 And I saw that she was defiled, one way was to both of them. 14 And she added to her fornications. And she saw men carved on the wall; images of the Chaldeans engraved with vermilion, 15 girded with girdles on their loins, with flowing turbans on their heads, all of them looking like rulers, like the sons of Babylon in Chaldea, the land of their birth; 16 and she lusted after them, to the sight of her eyes, and sent messengers to them into Chaldea. 17 And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love, and they defiled her with fornications. And she was defiled with them, and her mind was alienated from them. 18 So she uncovered her fornications and uncovered her nakedness. And My soul was alienated from her just as My soul was alienated from her sister. 19 Yet she multiplied her fornications to recall the days of her youth, in which she had played the harlot in the land of Egypt. 20 And she lusted on her lovers, whose flesh is like the flesh of asses and whose issue is like the issue of horses. 21 So you longed for the wickedness of your youth, when the Egyptians worked your nipples, for the sake of the breasts of your youth. 22 So, O Oholibah, the Lord Jehovah says this: Behold, I will raise up against you your lovers, from whom your soul is alienated; and I will bring them against you from all around; 23 the Babylonians, and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, and Shoa, and Koa, and all the Assyrians with them; all of them desirable young men, governors and rulers, all of them, third heads and called ones; all of them riding on horses. 24 And they shall come against you with weapons, chariots, and wheels, and with an assembly of peoples; buckler and shield and helmet shall set against you all around. And I will set judgment before them, and they shall judge you by their judgments. 25 And I will set My jealousy against you, and they shall deal with you in fury. They shall take away your nose and your ears, and the rest of you shall fall by the sword. They shall take away your sons and your daughters, and the rest of you shall be devoured by the fire. 26 They shall also strip you of your clothes and take away your beautiful jewels. 27 So I will make your wickedness to cease from you, and your fornication from the land of Egypt. And you shall not lift up your eyes to them, nor shall you remember Egypt any more. 28 For so says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will give you into the hand of those whom you hate, into the hand of whom your soul was alienated from them. 29 And they shall deal with you in hatred, and shall take away all your labor, and shall leave you naked and bare. And the nakedness of your fornications shall be uncovered, both your wickedness and your fornications. 30 These things will be done to you because you have whored after the nations, and because you are defiled with their idols. 31 You have walked in the way of your sister; therefore I will give her cup into your hand. 32 So says the Lord Jehovah: You shall drink of your sister's cup deep and large; you shall be laughed to scorn and mocked; for it holds much. 33 with drunkenness and sorrow you are filled, the cup of horror and ruin, the cup of your sister Samaria. 34 You shall even drink it and empty it. And you shall break its pieces, and tear off your own breasts. For I have spoken, says the Lord Jehovah. 35 So the Lord Jehovah says this: Because you have forgotten Me and cast Me behind your back, therefore bear also your wickedness and your adulteries. 36 And Jehovah said to me: Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah, and declare to them their abominations, 37 that they have committed adultery, and blood is on their hands? And they have committed adultery with their idols and have also caused their sons whom they bore to Me to pass through the fire to them, to devour them.

Ezekiel 23:37-49

37 that they have committed adultery, and blood is on their hands? And they have committed adultery with their idols and have also caused their sons whom they bore to Me to pass through the fire to them, to devour them. 38 And yet they have done this to Me: They have defiled My sanctuary in that day, and have profaned My sabbaths. 39 And when they had slain their sons to their idols, then they came into My sanctuary in that day to profane it. And lo, this they have done in the midst of My house. 40 And they have even sent for men to come from far, to whom a messenger was sent. And lo, they came. You washed yourself for them, painted your eyes, and adorned yourself with ornaments, 41 and sat on a stately bed with a table prepared before it, on which you set My incense and My oil. 42 And the sound of a crowd was at ease with her; and drunkards from the wilderness were brought with the men of the host of mankind; and they put bracelets on their hands, and crowns of beauty on their heads. 43 And I said about the one worn in adulteries, Will they now whore with her, and she with them? 44 And they went in to her, as they go in to a woman of harlotry; so they went in to Oholah and to Oholibah, the wicked women. 45 And as righteous men, they shall judge them with the judgment of adulteresses, and the judgment of women who shed blood; because they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands. 46 For so says the Lord Jehovah: I will bring up a company on them, and will give them to be removed and stripped. 47 And the company shall stone them with stones, and cut them down with their swords. They shall kill their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire.

Ezekiel 23:47-49

47 And the company shall stone them with stones, and cut them down with their swords. They shall kill their sons and their daughters, and burn up their houses with fire. 48 So I will cause wickedness to cease out of the land, that all women may be taught, even not to go after your wickedness. 49 And they shall put your wickedness on you, and you shall bear the sins of your idols. And you shall know that I am the Lord Jehovah.

Ezekiel 36:24-28

24 For I will take you from among the nations and gather you out of all lands, and will gather you into your own land. 25 And I will sprinkle clean waters on you, and you shall be clean. I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from your idols. 26 And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. And I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall keep My judgments and do them. 28 And you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers. And you shall be My people, and I will be your God.

Ezekiel 37:21-28

21 And say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and will gather them on every side, and will bring them into their own land. 22 And I will make them one nation in the land on the mountains of Israel, and one King shall be king to them all. And they shall not still be two nations, nor shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all. 23 Nor shall they be defiled with their idols, even with their filthy idols, nor with all of their transgressions. But I will save them out of all their dwelling places, in them where they sinned, and will cleanse them. And they shall be to Me for a people, and I will be to them for God. 24 And David My servant shall be King over them. And there shall be one Shepherd to all of them. And they shall walk in My judgments, and obey My Laws, and do them. 25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, the land in which your fathers have lived. And they shall dwell in it, even they and their sons, and the sons of their sons for ever. And My servant David shall be their ruler forever. 26 And I will cut a covenant of peace with them. It shall be an everlasting covenant with them. And I will place them, and multiply them, and will set My sanctuary in their midst forever. 27 And My tabernacle shall be with them. Yea, I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 28 And the nations shall know that I Jehovah sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary shall be in their midst forever.

Ezekiel 39:25-29

25 Therefore so says the Lord Jehovah: And I will return the captivity of Jacob, and will have mercy on the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for My holy name; 26 after they have borne their shame and all their sins by which they have sinned against Me, when they dwell securely in their land and no one terrifies; 27 when I have brought them again from the peoples, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations; 28 then they shall know that I am Jehovah their God who exiled them among the nations. But I have gathered them to their own land, and have not left any of them there. 29 Nor will I hide My face from them any more, for I have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel, says the Lord Jehovah.

Daniel 9:5-8

5 we have sinned and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from Your commandments and from Your judgments. 6 Neither have we listened to Your servants the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings, our rulers, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. 7 O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us the shame of our faces, as it is today to the men of Judah and to the people of Jerusalem, and to all Israel who are near and who are afar off, through all the countries where You have driven them because of their sin which they have sinned against You. 8 O Lord, shame of face belongs to us, to our kings, to our rulers, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against You.

Daniel 9:17-19

17 And now, O our God, hear the prayer of Your servant, and his holy desires, and cause Your face to shine on Your sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord's sake. 18 O my God, bow down Your ear and hear. Open Your eyes and behold our ruins, and the city which is called by Your name. For we do not present our prayers before You on account of our righteousnesses, but because of Your great mercies. 19 O Jehovah, hear; O Jehovah, forgive; O Jehovah, listen and do. Do not delay, for Your own sake, O my God; for Your city and Your people are called by Your name.

For You, O Jehovah, have done as it pleased You. 15 And they lifted Jonah up and threw him out into the sea; and the sea ceased from its raging.

And do you not remember? 19 When I broke the five loaves among five thousand, how many hand baskets full of fragments did you take up? And they were incensed with her. 6 And Jesus said, Let her alone! Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work towards Me. 7 For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you desire you may do them good. But you do not have Me always. 8 She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint My body for the burying. 9 Truly I say to you, Wherever this gospel shall be proclaimed in all the world, this also that she has done will be spoken of for a memorial of her.
