And I am a little child; I do not know to go out or come in! ⁸ And Your servant is in the midst of Your people whom You have chosen, a numerous people who cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude. ⁹ And give to Your servant an understanding heart, to judge Your people, to discern between good and bad. For who is able to judge this, Your great people? ¹⁰ And the word was good in the eyes of Jehovah, that Solomon had asked this thing. ¹¹ And God said to him, Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked for yourself long life, and have not asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to judge justly, ¹² behold, I have done according to your words. Lo, I have given you a wise and an understanding heart, so that there was none like you before you, and after you none shall arise like you. ¹³ And I also have given you that which you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that there shall not be any among the kings like you all your days.

⁵ And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house to be built for Jehovah is to be highly magnificent, for a name and for beauty to all the lands. I will now prepare for it. And David prepared abundantly before his death.

I have prepared timber also, and stone, and you may add to them. ¹⁵ And there are many workmen with you, cutters and workers of stone and timber, and all kinds of skillful men for every kind of work. ¹⁶ Of the gold, the silver, and the bronze, and the iron, there is no number. Arise and be doing, and may Jehovah be with you.

⁹ And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve Him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind. For Jehovah searches all hearts and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you. But if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.

²³ O Jehovah, I know that the way of man does not belong to man; it is not in man who walks to direct his steps.

¹² So their way shall be to them as slippery ways in the darkness; they shall be driven on, and fall in them; for I will bring evil on them, even the year of their judgment, says Jehovah.

⁹ They shall come with weeping, and with prayers I will lead them. I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way; they shall not stumble in it, for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is My firstborn.

⁶ Behold, I will bring it health and healing, and I will heal them and will show them the riches of peace and truth.

²⁸ Because he looks carefully, and turns away from all his sins that he has committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

³¹ Cast away from you all your sins by which you have sinned; and make you a new heart and a new spirit; for why will you die, O house of Israel?

²⁵ A plot by her prophets is in her midst, like a roaring lion tearing the prey. They have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they multiplied her many widows in her midst. ²⁶ Her priests have broken My Law and have defiled My holy things. They have put no difference between the holy and the common, and have not taught between the unclean and the clean, and have hidden their eyes from My sabbaths, and I am defiled among them. ²⁷ Her rulers in her midst are like wolves tearing the prey, to shed blood and to destroy souls, to get unjust gain. ²⁸ And her prophets have daubed themselves with lime, seeing vanity and divining lies to them, saying, So says the Lord Jehovah; when Jehovah has not spoken. ²⁹ The people of the land have used oppression and practiced robbery, and they have troubled the poor and needy. Yea, they have oppressed the stranger without right.

³ And those who are wise shall shine as the brightness of the sky; and those who turn many to righteousness shall shine as the stars forever and ever.

³ Then we shall know, if we follow on to know Jehovah. His going out is prepared as the morning; and He shall come to us as the rain, as the latter and former rain to the earth.

⁴ Hear this, you who trample the poor, even to make the humble of the land to fail, ⁵ saying, When will the new moon be gone so that we may sell grain? And the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small and the shekel great, and perverting the balances by deceit; ⁶ that we may buy the poor for silver and the needy for a pair of sandals; and sell the chaff of the wheat?

¹ Woe to those who plot wickedness and prepare evil on their beds! When the morning is light they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand.

⁵ So says Jehovah concerning the prophets who make My people err, who bite with their teeth and cry, Peace! And whoever does not give for their mouth, they even sanctify a war against him.

¹² For its rich men are full of violence, and its people have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.

³ Her rulers within her are roaring lions; her judges evening wolves. They do not gnaw bones for the morning.

¹⁰ And I will pour on the house of David, and on the people of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of prayers. And they shall look on Me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for Him, as one mourns for his only son, and shall be bitter over Him, as the bitterness over the first-born.

⁶ And it will be in that day, there shall not be light; the glorious ones shall shrink. ⁷ And it will be one day which shall be known to Jehovah, neither day nor night; but it will happen that at evening time it shall be light.

¹⁴ You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.

⁴⁵ so that you may become sons of your Father in Heaven. For He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

²² The light of the body is the eye. Therefore if your eye is sound, your whole body shall be full of light.

²³ And then I will say to them I never knew you! Depart from Me, those working lawlessness!

³⁴ Offspring of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. ³⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings out good things; and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings out evil things.

⁴⁴ Again, the kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which when a man has found it, he hides it, and for the joy of it goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field. ⁴⁵ Again, the kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls; ⁴⁶ who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

¹⁴ Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

¹⁹ For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies;

⁵ While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. And behold a voice out of the cloud which said, This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, hear Him.

¹³ But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of Heaven against men. For you neither go in, nor do you allow those entering to go in.

²¹ For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, ²² thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: ²³ All these evil things pass out from inside and defile the man.

³⁶ For what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? ³⁷ Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

³⁸ Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. Truly the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.

⁴⁵ A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth the good. And an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth the evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

⁴² But one thing is needful, and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

²⁰ But God said to him, Fool! This night your soul shall be required of you, then whose shall be those things which you have prepared?

⁶⁶ And when day came, the body of elders of the people, and the chief priests and the scribes, came together. And they led Him to the sanhedrin, saying,

²⁷ And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. ²⁸ And they drew near the village where they were going. And He appeared to be going further. ²⁹ But they constrained Him, saying, Stay with us, for it is toward evening and the day is far spent. And He went in to stay with them.

³² and what He has seen and heard, that He testifies, and no one receives His testimony. ³³ He who has received His testimony has set his seal to this, that God is true.

³⁹ And many of the Samaritans of that city believed upon Him because of the saying of the woman, who testified, He told me all that I ever did. ⁴⁰ Then as the Samaritans had come to Him, they begged Him that He would stay with them. And He stayed there two days. ⁴¹ And many more believed because of His own word. ⁴² And they said to the woman, Now we believe, not because of your saying, for we have heard Him ourselves and know that this is truly the Christ, the Savior of the world.

⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the Words of eternal life.

¹⁶ Jesus answered them and said, My doctrine is not Mine, but His who sent Me. ¹⁷ If anyone desires to do His will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it is of God, or I speak from Myself.

¹² Then Jesus spoke again to them, saying, I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

⁹ Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble because he sees the light of the world. ¹⁰ But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles because there is no light in him.

²³ who was glad when he had come and had seen the grace of God. And he exhorted all with purpose of heart to remain near to the Lord.

¹⁰ and said, O son of the Devil, full of all deceit and all craftiness, enemy of all righteousness, will you not stop perverting the right ways of the Lord?

³² Why? Because it was not of faith, but as it were by the works of the Law. For they stumbled at that Stumbling-stone; ³³ as it is written, "Behold, I lay in Zion a Stumbling-stone and a Rock-of-offense, and everyone believing on Him shall not be put to shame."

⁹ Let love be without hypocrisy, shrinking from evil, cleaving to good;

¹⁶ minding the same thing toward one another, not minding high things, but yielding to the lowly. Do not be wise within yourselves.

³³ Do not be deceived; evil companionships corrupt good habits.

¹⁸ But we all, with our face having been unveiled, having beheld the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are being changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Lord Spirit.

¹⁷ that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

²⁵ Therefore putting away lying, let each man speak truth with his neighbor, for we are members of one another. ²⁶ Be angry, and do not sin. Do not let the sun go down upon your wrath, ²⁷ neither give place to the Devil. ²⁸ Let him who stole steal no more, but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, so that he may have something to give to him who needs. ²⁹ Let not any filthy word go out of your mouth, but if any is good to building up in respect of need, that it may give grace to the ones hearing. ³⁰ And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you are sealed until the day of redemption. ³¹ Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and tumult and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.

¹¹ And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

¹⁵ See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

¹⁷ Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

⁴ And fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

¹⁵ so that you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation. Among these you shine as lights in the world,

⁸ But no, rather, I also count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them to be dung, so that I may win Christ

⁸ But now also put off all these things: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, shameful speech out of your mouth.

¹¹ even as you know how we exhorted and comforted and testified to each one of you, as a father to his children, ¹² that you should walk worthy of God, who has called you to His kingdom and glory. ¹³ And for this cause we thank God without ceasing, that when you received the Word of hearing, of God, you welcomed it as the Word of God, not as a word of men, but as it is, truly the Word of God, which also effectually works in you who believe.

¹³ in order to establish your hearts blameless in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.

²¹ Prove all things, hold fast to the good. ²² Abstain from every appearance of evil.

¹⁰ and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, so that they might be saved.

³ But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you and guard you from the evil.

¹⁵ Faithful is the Word and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

⁹ In the same way also, I desire that women adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and sensibleness, not adorned with braiding, or gold, or pearls, or costly clothing, ¹⁰ but with good works, which becomes women professing godliness.

⁶ Having suggested these things to the brothers, you shall be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the Words of Faith and by the good doctrine which you have followed.

⁵ meddling, of men whose minds have been corrupted and deprived of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness. Withdraw from such.

⁵ taking recollection of the unfeigned faith that is in you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois, and in your mother Eunice. And I am persuaded that it is in you also.

¹⁵ and that from a babe you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

⁹ holding fast the faithful Word according to the doctrine, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and to convict the gainsayers.

¹ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

⁷ You have made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor and set him over the works of Your hands. ⁸ You subjected all things under his feet." For in subjecting all things to Him, He did not leave anything not subjected to Him. But now we do not see all things having been subjected to him. ⁹ But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor, that He by the grace of God should taste death for all.

⁹ And being perfected, He became the Author of eternal salvation to all those who obey Him,

¹³ And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way, but let it rather be healed.

¹⁵ looking diligently lest any fail of the grace of God, or lest any root of bitterness springing up disturb you, and by it many are defiled,

⁵ But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and with no reproach, and it shall be given to him.

¹⁴ But each one is tempted by his lusts, being drawn away and seduced by them. ¹⁵ Then when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin. And sin, when it is fully formed, brings forth death.

²¹ Therefore putting aside all filthiness and overflowing of evil, receive in meekness the implanted Word, which is able to save your souls.

²⁶ If anyone thinks to be religious among you, yet does not bridle his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is vain.

⁴ Behold, the hire of the laborers reaping your fields cry out, being kept back by you. And the cries of those who have reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of hosts. ⁵ You have lived luxuriously on the earth, and lived wantonly. You have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

¹ Therefore laying aside all malice and all guile and hypocrisies and envyings, and all evil speakings,

⁸ and a Stone-of-stumbling and a Rock-of-offense to those disobeying, who stumble at the Word, to which they also were appointed.

⁴ but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, the meek and quiet spirit, which is of great price in the sight of God.

⁴ And when the Chief Shepherd shall appear, you shall receive a never-fading crown of glory.

¹⁰ But the God of all grace, He calling us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little, He will perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

¹⁹ We also have a more sure Word of prophecy, to which you do well to take heed, as to a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the Daystar arises in your hearts,

¹⁴ having eyes full of adultery and never ceasing from sin, alluring unstable souls, having a heart exercised with covetousness. They are cursed children

¹⁸ But grow in grace and in knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

²³ And the city had no need of the sun, nor of the moon, that they might shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb.

⁵ And there will be no night there. And they need no lamp, or light of the sun; for the Lord God gives them light. And they will reign forever and ever.
