1 Samuel 31:1-7

And the Philistines killed Jonathan and Abinadab and Malchishua, Saul's sons. 3 And the battle went hard against Saul. But his armor-bearer would not, for he was very much afraid. So Saul took a sword and fell on it. 5 And when his armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he also fell on his sword and died with him. 6 And Saul died, and his three sons, and his armor-bearer, and all his men, that same day together. 7 And the men of Israel beyond the valley, and who were on the other side Jordan, saw that the men of Israel fled and that Saul and his sons had died. And they abandoned the cities and fled. And the Philistines came and lived in them.

2 Samuel 18:7-8

7 And the people of Israel were killed there before the servants of David. And there was a great slaughter that day of twenty thousand. 8 For the battle was scattered there over the face of all the country. And the forest devoured more people that day than the sword devoured.
