Proverbs 21:13 Cross References - MKJV

13 Whoever stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

Deuteronomy 15:7-11

7 If there is among you a poor man of one of your brothers inside any of your gates in your land which Jehovah your God gives you, you shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother. 8 But you shall open your hand wide to him, and shall surely lend him enough for his need, that which he lacks. 9 Beware that there is not a thought in your wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand, and your eye may be evil against your poor brother, and you give him nothing. And he may cry to Jehovah against you, and it is sin to you. 10 You shall surely give to him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing Jehovah your God shall bless you in all your works, and in all that you put your hand to. 11 For the poor shall never cease out of the land. Therefore, I command you saying, You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor, and to your needy, in your land.

Nehemiah 5:1-5

1 And there was a great cry of the people and of their wives against their brothers the Jews. 2 For certain ones said, We, our sons, and our daughters, are many. Let us get grain for them, so that we may eat and live. 3 Some also said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and houses. Let us buy grain because of the famine. 4 And some said, We have borrowed money on our lands and vineyards for the king's tax. 5 Yet now our flesh is like the flesh of our brothers, our sons like their sons. And, lo, we bring our sons and our daughters into bondage, to be slaves, and some of our daughters are brought into bondage. And there is no power for our hand, for other men have our lands and vineyards.

Nehemiah 5:13

13 Also I shook my lap and said, So let God shake out every man from his house, and from his labor, who does not keep this promise, even may he be shaken out this way and emptied. And all the congregation said, amen, and praised Jehovah. And the people did according to this promise.

Isaiah 1:15-17

Judge the orphan, plead for the widow.

Isaiah 58:6-9

6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed ones go free, and that you break every yoke? 7 Is it not to break your bread to the hungry, and that you should bring home the wandering poor? When will you see the naked and cover him; and you will not hide yourself from your own flesh? 8 Then shall your light break out as the dawn, and your health shall spring out quickly; and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of Jehovah shall gather you. 9 Then you shall call, and Jehovah shall answer; you shall cry, and He shall say, Here I am. If you take the yoke away from among you, the pointing of the finger, and speaking vanity;

Jeremiah 34:16-17

16 But you turned and defiled My name, and each man caused his slave, and each man caused his slave woman, whom you had set free to do as they pleased, to return. And you brought them into service to be slaves and slave women to you. 17 So Jehovah says this: You have not listened to Me to proclaim liberty each man to his brother, and each man to his neighbor! Behold, I call for freedom for you, says Jehovah, to the sword, to the plague, and to the famine. And I will cause you to be a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth.

Zechariah 7:9-13

9 So speaks Jehovah of Hosts, saying, Judge true judgment, and practice kindness and pity, each man to his brother. 10 And do not crush the widow or the orphan, the alien or the poor. And great wrath came from Jehovah of Hosts. 13 And it will be, as He called, and they did not listen, so they called, and I did not listen, says Jehovah of Hosts.

And they came and told their lord all that was done. 32 Then his lord, after he had called him, said to him, O wicked servant, I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. 33 Should you not also have pitied your fellow servant, even as I had pity on you? 34 And his lord was angry, and delivered him to the tormentors until he should pay all that was due to him. 35 So likewise shall My heavenly Father do also to you, unless each one of you from your hearts forgive his brother their trespasses.

Matthew 25:41-46
