¹⁹ And those of the south shall possess the mountain of Esau and the low country of the Philistines. And they shall possess the fields of Ephraim and the fields of Samaria; and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.

¹⁸ And Edom shall be a possession. Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies. And Israel shall do valiantly. ¹⁹ Out of Jacob shall come He who shall have dominion and shall destroy him who remains of the city.

² This is the land that still remains: all the borders of the Philistines, and all Geshuri, ³ from Shihor, which is before Egypt, even to the borders of Ekron northward, which is counted to the Canaanite, five lords of the Philistines: of Gaza, of Ashdod, of Ashkelon, of Gath, and of Ekron; also the Avim.

²⁵ And their coast was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the sons of Ammon, to Aroer, before Rabbah,

³¹ And half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan, were given to the sons of Machir the son of Manasseh, even to their half of the sons of Machir by their families.

²¹ And the furthest cities of the tribe of the sons of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

³³ In the low country were Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,

⁴⁵ Ekron with its town and its villages; ⁴⁶ from Ekron even to the Sea, all that were at hand by Ashdod, and their villages;

²¹ And the cities of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin according to their families were Jericho, and Beth-hoglah, and the valley of Keziz, ²² and Beth-arabah, and Zemaraim, and Bethel, ²³ and Avvim, and Parah, and Ophrah, ²⁴ and Chephar-haam-monai, and Ophni, and Gaba; twelve cities and their villages; ²⁵ Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth, ²⁶ and Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah, ²⁷ and Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah, ²⁸ and Zelah, Eleph, and Jebusi, which is Jerusalem; Gibeath, Kirjath; fourteen cities and their villages. This is the inheritance of the sons of Benjamin according to their families.

¹⁸ Also Judah took Gaza with its border, and Askelon with its border, and Ekron with its border. ¹⁹ And Jehovah was with Judah. And he took possession of the mountain. But he could not drive out those who lived in the valley, because they had chariots of iron.

²⁴ And the king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the sons of Israel. And they possessed Samaria and lived in its cities.

²⁶ And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria. And he exiled them, the people of Reuben and the people of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them to Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, to this day.

² then they came to Zerubbabel and to the chief of the fathers, and said to them, Let us build with you, for we seek your God, even as you. And we have sacrificed to him since the days of Esar-haddon king of Assyria, who brought us up here.

⁷ And in the days of Artaxerxes, Bishlam, Mithredath, Tabeel and the rest of their companions, wrote to Artaxerxes king of Persia. And the letter was written in the Syrian tongue, and interpreted in the Syrian tongue. ⁸ Rehum the chancellor and Shimshai the scribe wrote a letter against Jerusalem to Artaxerxes the king in this way. ⁹ Then Rehum the chancellor and Shimshai the scribe, and the rest of their companions, the judges, and the emissaries, the consuls, the officials, the Erechites, the Babylonians, the men of Susa, that is, the Elamites, ¹⁰ and the rest of the nations whom the great and noble Asnappar brought over and set in the cities of Samaria, and the rest of the province Beyond the River, and now,

¹⁷ The message the king sent to Rehum the chancellor, and to Shimshai the scribe, and to the rest of their companions who dwell in Samaria, and to the rest Beyond the River, Peace! And now,

³⁵ For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah; so that they may dwell there, and possess it.

¹³ And the envy of Ephraim shall depart, and the foes of Judah shall be cut off; Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not trouble Ephraim. ¹⁴ But they shall fly on the shoulders of the Philistines to the west; they shall spoil the sons of the east together; they shall lay their hand on Edom and Moab; and the sons of Ammon shall obey them.

⁴ Again I will build you, and you shall be built, O virgin of Israel. You shall again put on your tambourines, and shall go forth in the dances of those who rejoice. ⁵ You shall yet plant vines on the mountains of Samaria; the planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things. ⁶ For there shall be a day that the watchmen on Mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise and let us go up to Zion to Jehovah our God!

⁴⁴ Men shall buy fields for silver, and write it in a book, and seal it, and take witnesses in the land of Benjamin, and in the places around Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountains, and in the cities of the valley, and in the cities of the south. For I will cause their captivity to return, says Jehovah.

¹ So says Jehovah to the sons of Ammon: Has Israel no sons? Or has he no heir? Why does their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?

¹⁶ So the Lord Jehovah says this: Behold, I will stretch out My hand on the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites, and will destroy the rest of the sea coast.

⁶ So prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains and to the hills, to the rivers and to the valleys, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and in My fury, because you have borne the shame of the nations. ⁷ Therefore so says the Lord Jehovah: I have lifted up My hand; surely the nations around you shall bear their shame. ⁸ But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall put out your branches and yield your fruit to My people Israel; for they have drawn near to come. ⁹ For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown. ¹⁰ And I will multiply men on you, all the house of Israel, all of it. And the cities shall have people, and the wastes shall be built. ¹¹ And I will multiply men and beast on you, and they shall increase and be fruitful. And I will make you dwell as before, and I will do better to you than at your beginnings. And you shall know that I am Jehovah. ¹² Yea, I will cause men to walk on you, even My people Israel. And they shall possess you, and you shall be their inheritance, and not any more will increase their bereavement.

²⁸ And you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers. And you shall be My people, and I will be your God.

²¹ And say to them, So says the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and will gather them on every side, and will bring them into their own land. ²² And I will make them one nation in the land on the mountains of Israel, and one King shall be king to them all. And they shall not still be two nations, nor shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all. ²³ Nor shall they be defiled with their idols, even with their filthy idols, nor with all of their transgressions. But I will save them out of all their dwelling places, in them where they sinned, and will cleanse them. And they shall be to Me for a people, and I will be to them for God. ²⁴ And David My servant shall be King over them. And there shall be one Shepherd to all of them. And they shall walk in My judgments, and obey My Laws, and do them. ²⁵ And they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, the land in which your fathers have lived. And they shall dwell in it, even they and their sons, and the sons of their sons for ever. And My servant David shall be their ruler forever.

¹³ So says the Lord Jehovah: This shall be the border by which you shall inherit the land according to the twelve tribes of Israel. Joseph shall have two parts. ¹⁴ And you shall inherit it, each man like his brother, that I lifted up My hand to give to your fathers; even this land shall fall to you for an inheritance. ¹⁵ And this is the border of the land to the north side, from the Great Sea, the way of Hethlon, to the entrance of Zedad; ¹⁶ Hamath, Berothah, Sibraim, which is between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath; Hazer-hatticon, which is by the border of Hauran. ¹⁷ And the border shall be from the sea to Hazar-enan, at the border of Damascus and the north northward, even the border of Hamath. And this is the north side. ¹⁸ And you shall measure the east side from between Hauran, and from Damascus, and from Gilead, and the land of Israel, shall be the Jordan, from the border to the Eastern Sea. And this is the east side. ¹⁹ And the south side, southward from Tamar, to the waters of Meriboth-kadesh, the torrent to the Great Sea. And this is the south side southward. ²⁰ And the west side is the Great Sea from the border until one is beside the entrance of Hamath. This is the west side. ²¹ And you shall divide this land for yourselves by the tribes of Israel.

¹ And these are the names of the tribes. From the north end, at the hand of the way of Hethlon to the entrance of Hamath, Hazar-enan, the border of Damascus northward, at the hand of Hamath. And there shall be to it an east side and a west: one part for Dan. ² And by the border of Dan, from the east side to the west side, one part for Asher. ³ And by the border of Asher, from the east side even to the west side, one part for Naphtali. ⁴ And by the border of Naphtali, from the east side to the west side, one part for Manasseh. ⁵ And by the border of Manasseh, from the east side to the west side, one part for Ephraim. ⁶ And by the border of Ephraim, from the east side even to the west side, one part for Reuben. ⁷ And by the border of Reuben from the east side to the west side, one part for Judah. ⁸ And by the border of Judah, from the east side to the west side, shall be the heave offering which you shall offer: twenty-five thousand cubits wide and long, as one of the parts, from the east side to the west side. And the sanctuary shall be in its middle. ⁹ The heave offering that you shall offer to Jehovah shall be twenty-five thousand cubits long, and ten thousand cubits wide.

⁸ And I will cut off the people from Ashdod, and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon, and I will turn My hand against Ekron. And the rest of the Philistines shall perish, says the Lord Jehovah.

¹³ So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of the sons of Ammon, yea for four, I will not turn away from it. Because they have ripped up the pregnant women of Gilead, to make their own border larger.

¹² so that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and of all the nations on whom My name is called, says Jehovah who is doing this.

¹⁴ Feed your people with your rod, the flock of your inheritance, who dwell alone in the woods, in the midst of Carmel; let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.

⁴ For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a ruin. They shall drive out Ashdod at the noonday, and Ekron shall be rooted up. ⁵ Woe to the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! The Word of Jehovah is against you: Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will destroy you, so that no inhabitant survives. ⁶ And the sea coast will be pastures, meadows of shepherds, and folds for flocks. ⁷ And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed on them. In the houses of Ashkelon they shall lie down in the evening, for Jehovah their God shall visit them and turn away their captivity.

⁵ Ashkelon shall see and fear; Gaza also shall writhe in great pain; and Ekron shall be ashamed for her hope. And the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited. ⁶ And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines. ⁷ And I will take away his bloods out of his mouth, and his idolatries from between his teeth. But the remnant, even he, shall be for our God. And he shall be as a governor in Judah, and Ekron like a Jebusite.

⁴ If Edom says, We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places. So says Jehovah of Hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them the region of wickedness, and the people with whom Jehovah is indignant forever. ⁵ And your eyes shall see, and you shall say, Jehovah will be magnified beyond the border of Israel.
