² Mountains, hear Jehovah's case, and the constant foundations of the earth. For Jehovah has a quarrel with His people, and He will plead His case with Israel.

²² For a fire is kindled in My anger, and shall burn to the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with its increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.

⁸ And the earth shook and trembled. The foundations of the heavens moved and shook because He was angry.

¹⁶ And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were uncovered, at the rebuking of Jehovah, at the blast of the breath of His nostrils.

⁵ He laid the earth on its foundations; it shall not be shaken forever.

²⁹ when He gave to the sea its limit that the waters should not pass His command; when He appointed the foundations of the earth;

¹⁸ Come now, and let us reason together, says Jehovah; though your sins are as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be like wool.

³ And now, O people of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, please judge between Me and My vineyard.

²⁶ Cause Me to remember; let us enter into judgment; declare yourself, that you may be justified.

⁹ Therefore I will contend with you, says Jehovah, and with your son's sons I will enter into judgment.

²⁹ Why will you plead with Me? You all have sinned against Me, says Jehovah. ³⁰ In vain I have stricken your sons; they received no correction. Your own sword has devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion. ³¹ O generation, see the Word of Jehovah. Have I been a wilderness to Israel, or a land of darkness? Why do My people say, We roam freely; we will come no more to You? ³² Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet My people have forgotten Me days without number. ³³ Why did you trim your way to seek love? Therefore you have also taught the evil women your ways. ³⁴ Also in your skirts is found the blood of the souls of the poor innocents; I did not find them by breaking in, but on all these. ³⁵ Yet you say, Because I am innocent, surely His anger shall turn from me. Behold, I will plead with you, because you say, I have not sinned.

³¹ A noise shall come to the ends of the earth; for Jehovah has a controversy with the nations; He will enter into judgment with all flesh. He will give those who are wicked to the sword, says Jehovah.

³⁷ So says Jehovah, If the heavens above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth below can be searched out, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, says Jehovah.

³⁵ And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there I will enter into judgment with you face to face. ³⁶ Just as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with you, says the Lord Jehovah.

¹ Hear the Word of Jehovah, sons of Israel. For Jehovah has a quarrel with the people of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

² Jehovah also has a quarrel with Judah and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings He will repay him.
