³ God has delivered into your hands the princes of Midian, Oreb and Zeeb. And what was I able to do in comparison to you? Then their spirits toward him went away when he had said that.

²⁴ And Gideon sent messengers throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, Come down against the Midianites, and take the waters to Beth-barah and Jordan before them. Then all the men of Ephraim gathered themselves. And they captured the waters to Beth-barah and Jordan. ²⁵ Then they took two princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeb. And they killed Oreb upon the rock Oreb, and they killed Zeeb at the winepress of Zeeb. And they pursued Midian and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon on the other side Jordan.

³ For they did not get the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them; but it was Your right hand, and Your arm, and the light of Your face, because You favored them.

¹ Not to us, O Jehovah, not to us, but to Your name give glory, for Your mercy and for Your truth's sake.

¹⁴ Jehovah is my strength and song, and He is my salvation. ¹⁵ The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tents of the righteous; the right hand of Jehovah does mighty things. ¹⁶ The right hand of Jehovah is lifted up; the right hand of Jehovah does mighty things.

¹ A soft answer turns away wrath, but grievous words stir up anger.

³² He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit is better than he who takes a city.

¹¹ A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

¹⁵ In being slow to anger a ruler is won over, and a soft tongue breaks the bone.

³⁷ And in this is the saying true, One sows and another reaps.

³ For I say, through the grace given to me, to every one who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think. But set your mind to be right-minded, even as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.

⁶ Then having gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, if prophecy, according to the proportion of faith;

¹⁸ For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ did not work out by me for the obedience of the nations in word and deed, ¹⁹ in power of miracles and wonders, in power of the Spirit of God, so that from Jerusalem, and all around to Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

³ Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves.
