⁷ The Jews answered him, We have a Law, and by our Law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

¹⁶ And he that blasphemes the Name of Jehovah shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall surely stone him. And the stranger as well, even as he that is born in the land; when he blasphemes the Name, he shall be put to death.

²⁰ But the prophet who shall presume to speak a word in My name which I have not commanded him to speak or who shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.

⁶³ But Jesus was silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, I adjure you by the living God that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God. ⁶⁴ Jesus said to him, You said it. I tell you more. From this time you shall see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of the heavens. ⁶⁵ Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Behold, now you have heard his blasphemy. ⁶⁶ What do you think? They answered and said, He is worthy of death.

⁴² He saved others, but he cannot save himself. If he is the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. ⁴³ He trusted in God, let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him. (For He said, I am the Son of God.)

⁶¹ But He was silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, Are you the Christ, the son of the Blessed? ⁶² And Jesus said, I AM! And you will see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power and coming in the clouds of the heaven. ⁶³ Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, What further need do we have of witnesses? ⁶⁴ You have heard the blasphemy; what do you think? And they all condemned Him to be guilty of death.

³⁹ And when the centurion, who stood across from him, saw that He cried out so, and expired, he said, Truly this man was Son of God.

¹⁸ Then, because of this, the Jews sought the more to kill Him, because He not only had broken the sabbath, but also said that God was His father, making Himself equal with God.

⁵⁸ Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Before Abraham came into being, I AM! ⁵⁹ Then they took up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus hid Himself and went forth out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and passed on by.

³⁰ I and the Father are one! ³¹ Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. ³² Jesus answered them, I have shown you many good works from My Father; for which of these do you stone Me? ³³ The Jews answered Him, saying, We do not stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy, and because you, being a man, make yourself God.

³⁶ do you say of Him whom the Father has sanctified and sent into the world, You blaspheme, because I said, I am the Son of God? ³⁷ If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me. ³⁸ But if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works so that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.
