³⁶ While you have the Light, believe in the Light so that you may become sons of Light. Jesus spoke these things and departed and was hidden from them.

¹ Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of Jehovah has risen on you.

¹⁷ And leaving them, He went out of the city to Bethany, and spent the night there.

⁸ And the unjust steward's lord commended him because he had done wisely. For the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

⁷ This one came as a witness, to bear witness concerning the Light, so that all might believe through him.

²¹ But he who practices truth comes to the Light so that his works may be revealed, that they exist, having been worked in God.

⁴⁷ For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, "I have set You to be a light of the nations, for salvation to the end of the earth." ⁴⁸ And hearing, the nations rejoiced and glorified the Word of the Lord. And as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.

⁸ For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light

⁵ You are all the sons of light and the sons of the day. We are not of the night, or of darkness.

⁸ But let us, who are of the day, be calm, having put on the breastplate of faith and love and the hope of salvation for a helmet.

⁹ He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in darkness until now. ¹⁰ He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no offense in him. ¹¹ But he who hates his brother is in darkness, and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because darkness has blinded his eyes.
