⁹ And his wife said to him, Do you still hold to your integrity? Curse God and die!

⁶ And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasing to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make wise, she took of its fruit, and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate.

¹² And the man said, The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.

⁴ For it happened when Solomon was old, his wives turned away his heart after other gods. And his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as was the heart of David his father.

³³ While he still talked with them, behold, the messenger came down to him. And he said, Behold, this evil is from Jehovah. Why should I wait for Jehovah any longer?

¹¹ But put forth Your hand now, and touch all that he has, and he will curse You to Your face.

³ And Jehovah said unto Satan, Have you set your heart on My servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one who fears God and turns away from evil? And still he is keeping hold of his integrity, although you moved Me against him to destroy him without cause.

⁵ But indeed put forth Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse You to Your face.

¹⁴ And they say to God, Depart from us; for we do not desire the knowledge of Your ways; ¹⁵ what is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what profit should we have if we pray to Him?

¹⁴ You have said, It is vain to serve God; and, What profit is it that we have kept His charge, and that we have walked as mourners before Jehovah of Hosts?
