²⁰ Truly our foe is not cut down, and fire has eaten their wealth.

²⁴ Then Jehovah rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire, from Jehovah out of the heavens.

¹⁶ While he was still speaking, there also came another and said, The fire of God has fallen from the heavens and has burned up the sheep and the servants, and destroyed them. And I only have escaped alone to tell you.

⁷ Remember, please, who ever perished, being innocent? Or where were the righteous cut off?

³ Does God pervert judgment? Or does the Almighty pervert justice? ⁴ If your sons have sinned against Him, and if He has cast them away for their transgression,

⁵ For your iniquity teaches your mouth, and you choose the tongue of the crafty. ⁶ Your own mouth condemns you, and not I; yes, your own lips testify against you.

³⁰ He shall not escape from darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and at the breath of his mouth he shall turn away.

¹⁸ giving back his gain, and he will not eat. As to the wealth of his trading, even he shall not enjoy it. ¹⁹ For he pressed down and forsook the poor; he stole a house, but he had not built it.

²⁶ All darkness shall be hidden in his secret places; a fire not blown shall consume him; those left in his tent shall be broken.

²⁷ Behold, I know your thoughts, and the plots which you wrongfully hatch against me. ²⁸ For you say, Where is the house of the noble, and where the dwelling-places of the wicked?

¹ And some were present at the same time reporting to Him of the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. ² And answering, Jesus said to them, Do you suppose that these Galileans were sinners above all the Galileans because they suffered such things? ³ I tell you, No. But unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. ⁴ Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were sinners above all men who lived in Jerusalem? ⁵ I tell you, No. But unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.

²⁹ but the day Lot went out of Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from the heaven and destroyed them all. ³⁰ Even so it shall be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

⁶ And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, He condemned them with an overthrow, setting an example to men intending to live ungodly. ⁷ And He delivered righteous Lot, oppressed with the lustful behavior of the lawless.
