¹² They set night for day; the light is near in the face of darkness.

⁶⁷ In the morning you shall say, Oh that it were evening! And at evening you shall say, Oh that it were morning, for the fear of your heart with which you shall fear, and for the sight of your eyes which you shall see.

³ so I am made to possess months of vanity, and weary nights are appointed to me. ⁴ When I lie down, I say, When shall I rise? But the night is long, and I am full of tossing to and fro until the dawning of the day.

¹³ When I say, My bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint, ¹⁴ then You scare me with dreams, and terrify me with visions;

¹⁴ The murderer rising with the light kills the poor and needy, and in the night he is a thief. ¹⁵ And the eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight, saying, No eye will see me; and he puts a covering on his face. ¹⁶ In the dark they dig through houses which they had marked for themselves in the daytime; they do not know the light.
