³⁴ Then I will cause the voice of gladness to cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem, and the voice of joy, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride. For the land shall be desolate.

³³ And I will scatter you among the nations, and will draw out a sword after you. And your land shall be waste, and your cities waste.

⁷ Your land is wasted, your cities burned with fire. Strangers devour your land right before your eyes, and it is wasted, as overthrown by strangers.

²⁶ And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she shall sit deserted on the ground.

¹¹ Then I said, Lord, how long? And He answered, Until the cities are wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land laid waste, a desolation,

⁷ The new wine mourns, the vine droops, all the merry-hearted sigh. ⁸ The gladness of tambourines ceases, the noise of those who rejoice ends; the joy of the harp ceases.

²⁷ For so Jehovah has said, The whole land shall be desolate, yet I will not make a full end.

⁹ For so says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will cause the voice of mirth to cease out of this place before your eyes, and in your days, and the voice of gladness, and the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.

¹⁰ And I will take from them the voice of rejoicing and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones and the light of the candle.

¹⁰ So says Jehovah: Again there shall be heard in this place, which you say is a waste without man and without beast, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem that are desolate without man, and without inhabitant, and without beast;

¹³ And I will cause the noise of your songs to cease; and the sound of your harps shall be heard no more.

¹¹ I will also cause all her joy to cease, her feast days, her new moons, and her sabbaths, and all her appointed feasts.

¹³ But the land shall be wasted because of those who dwell in it, for the fruit of their doings.

²³ And the light of a lamp will never more shine at all in you. And the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride will never more be heard at all in you. For your merchants were the great ones of the earth; for by your sorceries all nations were deceived.
