⁴² They lay hold on a bow and spear; they are cruel and will not show mercy. Their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride on horses arrayed like a man for the battle against you, O daughter of Babylon.

² Therefore we will not fear when the earth changes, and when mountains are slipping into the heart of the seas. ³ Let its waters roar and foam; let the mountains shake with the swelling of it. Selah.

⁶ The nations raged, the kingdoms were shaken; He uttered His voice, the earth melted.

²⁰ Look to the covenant; for the dark places of the earth are full of the houses of evil.

⁸ O daughter of Babylon, O destroyed one! Blessed is he who will repay to you your reward which you rewarded to us. ⁹ Blessed is he who seizes and dashes your little ones against the stones.

²⁸ whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent; their horses' hoofs seem like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind.

³⁰ And in that day they shall roar against them like the roaring of the sea; and one looks to the land, behold darkness, and lo, darkness! Distress! And the light shall be darkened by its clouds.

²² So says Jehovah, Behold, a people comes from the north country, and a great nation shall be stirred from the sides of the earth. ²³ They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel and have no mercy; their voice roars like the sea; and they ride on horses, set in order like a man for war against you, O daughter of Zion.

¹⁶ The snorting of his horses was heard from Dan; the whole land trembled at the sound of the neighing of his stallions. For they have come, and have devoured the land, and all that is in it; the city, and those who live in it.

³ At the noise of the stamping of the hooves of his strong horses, at the rushing of his chariots, the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers shall not look back to their sons because of feebleness of hands;

¹⁴ Put yourselves in order against Babylon all around; all you who bend the bow, shoot at her. Hold back no arrows, for she has sinned against Jehovah.

⁶ For lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, the bitter and hasty nation, which shall march through the breadth of the land to possess homes not their own. ⁷ He is terrible and fearful; his judgment and his majesty comes forth from Himself. ⁸ His horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves. And their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from afar. They shall fly like the eagle hurrying to eat.

¹³ For he who has shown no mercy shall have judgment without mercy, and mercy exults over judgment.

⁶ since they have poured out the blood of the saints and prophets; and You gave them blood to drink, for they were deserving.

¹⁴ And the armies in Heaven followed Him on white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. ¹⁵ And out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, so that with it He should strike the nations. And He will shepherd them with a rod of iron.
