²⁷ So you shall say to them, So says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel: Drink and be drunk, and vomit, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.

⁴² I will make My arrows drunk with blood, and My sword shall devour flesh, with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the hairy scalp of the enemy.

²¹ So now hear this, afflicted one, and drunken, but not with wine.

⁶ And I will tread down the people in My anger, and make them drunk in My fury, and I will pour their juice to the earth.

¹² The ravagers have come on all high places through the wilderness; for the sword of Jehovah shall devour from the one end of the land even to the other end of the land. No flesh shall have peace.

¹⁶ And they shall drink, and reel to and fro, and be maddened, because of the sword that I will send among them.

¹⁰ For this is the day of the Lord Jehovah of Hosts, a day of vengeance, that He may avenge Himself of His foes. And the sword shall devour, and it shall be filled and made drunk with their blood, for the Lord Jehovah of Hosts has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.

⁶ O sword of Jehovah, how long will it be before you are quiet? Put yourself into your sheath; rest and be still. ⁷ How can it be quiet, since Jehovah has given it a command? He has set it there against Ashkelon, and against the seashore.

¹⁶ You are filled with shame instead of glory; drink also, and be seen as one uncircumcised! The cup of Jehovah's right hand shall turn on you, and disgrace shall be your glory.
