⁴ And I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them. And they shall fear no more, nor be afraid; nor shall they lack anything, says Jehovah.

⁴⁹ And they said to Moses, Your servants have counted the men of war who are under our charge, and there is not one man of us lacking.

⁷⁰ He also chose David His servant, and took him from the sheepfolds; ⁷¹ from following the ewes great with young He brought him to feed Jacob His people, and Israel His inheritance. ⁷² And he fed them according to the pureness of his heart, and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.

¹¹ And it shall be in that day, the Lord shall again set His hand, the second time, to recover the remnant of His people that remains, from Assyria and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Ethiopia, and from Persia, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the coasts of the sea.

¹⁴ Turn, O backsliding sons, says Jehovah; for I am married to you; and I will take you one from a city, and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion. ¹⁵ And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.

¹⁰ And you, O My servant Jacob, do not fear, says Jehovah. Do not be terrified, O Israel. For lo, I will save you from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity. And Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.

¹⁰ Hear the Word of Jehovah, O nations, and declare it in the coastlands afar off. And say, He who scattered Israel will gather him and keep him, as a shepherd keeps his flock.

²⁶ then I will cast away the seed of Jacob, and David My servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will bring back their captivity, and have mercy on them.

²⁷ But you do not fear, O My servant Jacob, and be not afraid, O Israel. For, behold, I will save you from afar off, and your seed from the land of their captivity. And Jacob shall return and be in rest and at ease, and none shall make him afraid. ²⁸ Do not fear, O Jacob My servant, says Jehovah, for I am with you. For I will make a full end of all the nations where I have driven you. But I will not make a full end of you, but correct you in measure; yet I will not leave you wholly unpunished.

²³ And I will set up one Shepherd over them, and He shall feed them, My servant David. He shall feed them, and He shall be their Shepherd. ²⁴ And I Jehovah will be their God, and My servant David a ruler among them. I Jehovah have spoken. ²⁵ And I will make a covenant of peace with them, and will send the evil beasts out of the land. And they shall dwell safely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods. ²⁶ And I will make them, and the places around My hill, a blessing; and I will bring down the shower in its season. There shall be showers of blessing. ²⁷ And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase. And they shall be safe in their land, and they shall know that I am Jehovah, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and have delivered them out of the hands of those who enslaved them. ²⁸ And no more shall they be a prey to the nations, nor shall the beast of the land eat them. But they shall dwell safely, and none shall terrify them. ²⁹ And I will raise up for them a noted planting place, and they shall never again be of those gathered by famine in the land, nor shall they bear the shame of the nations any more. ³⁰ And they shall know that I, Jehovah their God, am with them, and they, the house of Israel, are My people, says the Lord Jehovah. ³¹ And you My sheep, the sheep of My pasture, are men, and I am your God, says the Lord Jehovah.

³ And I said to her, You shall abide for me many days. You shall not be a harlot, nor be for a man. And I also will be for you. ⁴ For the sons of Israel shall live many days with no king, and no ruler, and with no sacrifice, and no pillars, and no ephod, or teraphim. ⁵ Afterward the sons of Israel shall return and seek Jehovah their God and David their king. And they shall fear Jehovah and His goodness in the ends of the days.

² And you, Bethlehem Ephratah, you being least among the thousands of Judah, out of you He shall come forth to Me, to become Ruler in Israel, He whose goings forth have been from of old, from the days of eternity.

⁴ And He shall stand and feed in the strength of Jehovah, in the majesty of the name of Jehovah His God. And they shall sit, for now He shall be great to the ends of the earth. ⁵ And this One shall be peace. When Assyria shall come into our land; and when he shall walk in our palaces, then we shall raise against him seven shepherds and eight anointed ones from men.

¹⁴ Feed your people with your rod, the flock of your inheritance, who dwell alone in the woods, in the midst of Carmel; let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.

³⁹ And this is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all which He has given Me I should lose nothing but should raise it up again at the last day. ⁴⁰ And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes on Him should have everlasting life. And I will raise him up at the last day.

²⁷ My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. ²⁸ And I give to them eternal life, and they shall never ever perish, and not anyone shall pluck them out of My hand. ²⁹ My Father who gave them to me is greater than all, and no one is able to pluck them out of My Father's hand. ³⁰ I and the Father are one!

¹² While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name. Those that You have given Me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

⁹ (that the word might be fulfilled which He spoke, "Of those whom You have given Me, I have lost not one of them").

¹⁵ Then when they broke fast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me more than these? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Feed My lambs. ¹⁶ He said to him the second time, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me? He said to Him, Yes, Lord, You know that I love You. He said to him, Feed My sheep. ¹⁷ He said to him the third time, Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me? Peter was grieved because He said to him a third time, Do you love Me? And he said to Him, Lord, You know all things, You know that I love You. Jesus said to him, Feed My sheep.

²⁸ Therefore take heed to yourselves, and to all the flock in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God which He has purchased with His own blood. ²⁹ For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

⁵ by the power of God, having been kept through faith to a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time;

¹ I exhort the elders who are among you, I being also an elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed. ² Feed the flock of God among you, taking the oversight, not by compulsion, but willingly; nor for base gain, but readily; ³ nor as lording it over those allotted to you by God, but becoming examples to the flock. ⁴ And when the Chief Shepherd shall appear, you shall receive a never-fading crown of glory.
