⁵ Hear the Word of Jehovah, you who tremble at His Word; your brothers who hated you, who cast you out for My name's sake, said, Let Jehovah be glorified. But He will appear to your joy, and they will be ashamed.

²⁰ And those who give evil for good oppose me, because I follow good.

¹³ Whoever despises the Word shall be destroyed, but he who fears the commandment shall be rewarded.

⁶ Do not look on me, that I am black, that the sun has looked on me. My mother's sons were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but my vineyard I have not kept.

¹⁹ who say, Let Him hurry and hasten His work, so that we may see it; and let the purpose of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, so that we may know!

¹⁵ Instead of being forsaken and hated, so that no one passes through, I will make you for everlasting majesty, a joy of many generations.

² For all those My hand has made, and all those exist, says Jehovah. But to this one I will look, to the afflicted and contrite spirit, and the one who trembles at My Word.

¹⁶ And it happened when they had heard all the words, they turned to one another in fear and said to Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words.

¹⁰ Blessed are they who have been persecuted for righteousness sake! ²² And you will be hated of all men for My name's sake, but the one who endures to the end shall be kept safe.

²² Blessed are you when men shall hate you, and when they shall cut you off, and when they shall reproach you and shall cast out your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man. ²³ Rejoice in that day and leap for joy. For behold, your reward is great in Heaven. For so their fathers did according to these things to the prophets.

¹⁷ And when He had said these things, all His adversaries were ashamed. And all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.

³⁴ They answered and said to him, You were altogether born in sins, and do you teach us? And they cast him out.

¹⁸ If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. ¹⁹ If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. ²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you, The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they have kept My saying, they will also keep yours.

² They shall put you out of the synagogue. But an hour is coming that everyone who kills you will think that he bears God service.

⁹ I truly thought within myself that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth, ¹⁰ which I also did in Jerusalem. And I shut up many of the saints in prisons, having received authority from the chief priests. And they being put to death, I cast a vote.

¹⁵ who both killed the Lord Jesus and their own prophets, also driving us out and they do not please God and being contrary to all men, ¹⁶ forbidding us to speak to the nations that they might be saved, to fill up their sins always; but the wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.

⁶ since it is a righteous thing with God to repay tribulation to those who trouble you, ⁷ and to give rest with us to you who are troubled, at the revealing of the Lord Jesus from Heaven with the angels of His power, ⁸ in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God and who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, ⁹ who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power, ¹⁰ when He shall come to be glorified in His saints and to be admired in all those who believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that Day.

¹³ looking for the blessed hope, and the appearance of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

²⁸ so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many. And to those who look for Him He shall appear the second time without sin to salvation.

¹² Beloved, do not be astonished at the fiery trial which is to try you, as though a strange thing happened to you, ¹³ but rejoice according as you are partakers of Christ's suffering, so that when His glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding joy. ¹⁴ If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of God and of glory rests on you. Truly according to them, He is blasphemed, but according to you He is glorified.

¹³ Do not marvel, my brothers, if the world hates you.
