⁹ For this is as the waters of Noah to Me; for as I swore that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so I have sworn from being angry with you and from rebuking you.

²¹ And Jehovah smelled a sweet odor. And Jehovah said in His heart, I will never again curse the ground for man's sake, because the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth. And I will not again smite every living thing as I have done.

¹¹ And I will establish My covenant with you. Neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood. Neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. ¹² And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between Me and you and every living creature with you, for everlasting generations: ¹³ I set my rainbow in the cloud. And it shall be a token of a covenant between Me and the earth. ¹⁴ And it shall be, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow shall be seen in the cloud. ¹⁵ And I will remember My covenant which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. ¹⁶ And the rainbow shall be in the cloud. And I will look upon it that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

⁹ You have set a bound that they may not pass over, so that they do not turn again to cover the earth.

¹ And in that day you shall say, O Jehovah, I will praise You; though You were angry with me, turn away Your anger, and You shall comfort me.

¹¹ so shall My Word be, which goes out of My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall certainly do what I sent it to do.

³⁵ So says Jehovah, who gives the sun for a light by day and the laws of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, who divides the sea when its waves roar; Jehovah of Hosts is His name; ³⁶ if those ordinances depart from Me, says Jehovah, the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before Me forever.

²⁰ So says Jehovah: If you can break My covenant of the day and My covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season, ²¹ then also may My covenant with David My servant be broken, that he should not have a son to reign on his throne, and My covenant with the Levites the priests, My ministers. ²² As the host of the heavens cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so I will multiply the seed of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me. ²³ And the Word of Jehovah came to Jeremiah, saying, ²⁴ Do you not consider what this people have spoken, saying, The two families which Jehovah has chosen, He has even cast them off? So they have despised My people, that they should be no more a nation before them. ²⁵ So says Jehovah: If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not given the ordinances of the heavens and the earth, ²⁶ then I will cast away the seed of Jacob, and David My servant, so that I will not take any of his seed to be rulers over the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will bring back their captivity, and have mercy on them.

²⁰ And you shall be filled at My table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, all the men of war, says the Lord Jehovah.

¹⁶ For men truly swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. ¹⁷ In this way desiring to declare more fully to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, God interposed by an oath, ¹⁸ so that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us,
