² the mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,

¹⁴ And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the leaders, and all the mighty men of war, ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths. None remained except the poorest sort of the people of the land. ¹⁵ And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king's mother, and the king's wives, and his eunuchs. And the mighty of the land he carried into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon. ¹⁶ And the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon all the men of might, seven thousand of them, and a thousand craftsmen and smiths, all who were strong and able for war.

⁹ We did not see our signs; there is no prophet any more; neither is there among us any who knows how long.

¹³ And it shall be on all the high and lifted up cedars of Lebanon, and on all the oaks of Bashan, ¹⁴ and on all the high mountains, and on all the lifted up hills; ¹⁵ and on every high tower, and on every fortified wall;

¹⁴ And Jehovah will cut off from Israel head and tail, branch and rush, in one day. ¹⁵ The elder and honorable, he is the head; and the prophet who teaches lies, he is the tail.

¹² Rulers were hanged by the hand; the faces of elders were not honored. ¹³ They took the young men to grind, and the youths stumbled at the wood. ¹⁴ The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their music.

¹² And He said to me, Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, each man in his image room? For they are saying, Jehovah does not see us; Jehovah has forsaken the earth.

⁵ And He said to those in my hearing, Go over in the city after him, and strike. Let not your eye spare, nor have pity.

¹³ And he has taken of the king's seed and has made a covenant with him, and has taken an oath from him. He has also taken the mighty of the land,

³ And I will cut off the judge from its midst, and will kill all its rulers with him, says Jehovah.
