⁶ And God said, Let there be an expanse in the middle of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.

¹⁴ And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to divide between the day and the night. And let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years.

²⁰ And God said, Let the waters swarm with swarmers having a living soul; and let birds fly over the earth on the face of the expanse of the heavens.

¹¹ In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, in the seventeenth day of the month, in this day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of the heavens were opened up. ¹² And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.

Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail, ²³ which I have kept for the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war? ²⁴ How is it, the way the light is distributed, and how does the east wind spread itself on the earth? ²⁵ Who has cut a channel for the flood, or a way for the thunderclaps; ²⁶ to cause rain to fall on the earth where no man is, a wilderness and no man in it;

¹ To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. The heavens declare the glory of God; and the expanse proclaims His handiwork.

⁶ By the Word of Jehovah were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.

⁹ For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood.

² covering Yourself with light as with a robe; and stretching out the heavens like a curtain;

⁵ To Him who by wisdom made the heavens; for His mercy endures forever. ⁶ To Him who stretched out the earth above the waters; for His mercy endures forever.

⁴ Praise Him, heavens of heavens, and waters that are above the heavens.

¹ Praise Jehovah. Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in the expanse of His power.

³ If the clouds are full of rain, they empty on the earth; and if the tree falls toward the south, or toward the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it shall be.

¹⁰ But Jehovah is the true God, He is the living God, and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to stand His fury.

¹² He has made the earth by His power; He has established the world by His wisdom, and has stretched out the heavens by His judgment. ¹³ When He utters His voice, there is a noise of many waters in the heavens. He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightnings with rain, and brings forth the wind out of His treasures.

¹ The burden of the Word of Jehovah for Israel, says Jehovah, who stretches forth the heavens, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him.
