O God, the nations have come into Your inheritance; they have defiled Your holy temple; they have laid Jerusalem in heaps. ² They have given the dead bodies of Your servants as food for the birds of the heavens, the flesh of Your saints to the beasts of the earth. ³ They have shed their blood like water round about Jerusalem, and none to bury.

⁷ indeed to those who with patience in good work are seeking for glory, and honor, and incorruptibility, everlasting life. ⁸ But to those who indeed disobeying the truth out of self-seeking, and obeying unrighteousness, will be anger and wrath, ⁹ tribulation and anguish upon every soul of man who has worked out evil; of the Jew first, and also of the Greek.

²⁷ Isaiah also cries concerning Israel, "Though the number of the sons of Israel is as the sands of the sea, a remnant shall be saved. ²⁸ For He is bringing the matter to an end, and cutting short in righteousness, because the Lord will make a short work on the earth." ²⁹ And as Isaiah said before, "Unless the Lord of hosts had left us a seed, we would have been as Sodom, and would have been like Gomorrah."

⁷ What then? Israel has not obtained that which it seeks, but the election obtained it, and the rest were hardened ⁸ even as it is written, "God gave to them a spirit of slumber, eyes not seeing, and ears not hearing" until this day. ⁹ And David said, "Let their table become for a snare and a trap and a stumbling block and a recompense to them. ¹⁰ Let their eyes be darkened so that they may not see, and their back always bowing."

²⁵ For I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, lest you should be wise within yourselves; that blindness in part has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the nations has comes in.

¹¹ And all these things happened to them as examples; and it is written for our warning on whom the ends of the world have come.

²¹ In the Law it is written, "By other tongues and other lips I will speak to this people, and even so they will not hear Me, says the Lord."

³ But also if our gospel is hidden, it is hidden to those being lost, ⁴ in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving ones, so that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ (who is the image of God) should not dawn on them.

¹⁰ For as many as are out of works of the Law, these are under a curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the Book of the Law, to do them."

²⁷ Only let your conduct be as becomes the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you, or else am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, striving together with one mind for the faith of the gospel,

¹⁶ forbidding us to speak to the nations that they might be saved, to fill up their sins always; but the wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.

⁹ whose coming is according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, ¹⁰ and with all deceit of unrighteousness in those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, so that they might be saved. ¹¹ And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie,

³ But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you and guard you from the evil.

⁸ For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable to all things, having promise of the present life, and of that which is to come.

¹⁷ Charge the rich in this world that they be not high-minded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, He offering to us richly all things to enjoy, ¹⁸ that they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to share, to be generous, ¹⁹ laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

¹⁴ who gave Himself for us that He might redeem us from all iniquity and purify to Himself a special people, zealous of good works.

¹³ For when God made promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no greater, He swore by Himself, ¹⁴ saying, "Surely in blessing I will bless you, and in multiplying I will multiply you." ¹⁵ And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. ¹⁶ For men truly swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife. ¹⁷ In this way desiring to declare more fully to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, God interposed by an oath, ¹⁸ so that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us,

²⁷ but a certain fearful looking for judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

³⁰ For we know Him who has said, "Vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay, says the Lord." And again, "The Lord shall judge His people." ³¹ It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

²⁸ Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear, ²⁹ for also, "Our God is a consuming fire."

¹⁰ For whoever shall keep the whole Law and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. ¹¹ For He who said, "Do not commit adultery," also said, "Do not murder." But if you do not commit adultery, yet if you murder, you have become a transgressor of the Law.

⁹ But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for possession, so that you might speak of the praises of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; ¹⁰ you who then were not a people, but now the people of God, those not pitied then, but now pitied. ¹¹ Dearly beloved, I exhort you as temporary residents and pilgrims to abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul,

¹⁰ But the God of all grace, He calling us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little, He will perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

⁹ Behold, I give out of those of the synagogue of Satan, those saying themselves to be Jews and are not, but lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.

¹⁵ And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every freeman, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains. ¹⁶ And they said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him sitting on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; ¹⁷ for the great day of His wrath has come, and who will be able to stand?

⁶ And in those days men will seek death and will not find it. And they will long to die, and death will flee from them.

¹⁰ And the fifth angel poured out his vial on the throne of the beast, and its kingdom became darkened. And they gnawed their tongues from the pain. ¹¹ And they blasphemed the God of Heaven because of their pains and their sores. And they did not repent of their deeds.
