12 If your brother, a Hebrew man or a Hebrew woman, is sold to you and serves you six years, then in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you.

Exodus 21:2-6

2 If you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years. And in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. 3 If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself. If he was married, then his wife shall go out with him. 4 If his master has given him a wife, and she has borne him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself. 5 And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my sons. And his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall serve him forever.

Leviticus 25:39-41

39 And if your brother who lives beside you has become poor, and is sold to you, you shall not compel him to serve as a bond-servant. 40 As a hired servant, as a temporary resident, he shall be with you, and shall serve you until the year of jubilee. 41 And he shall depart from you, he and his sons with him, and shall return to his own family. And he shall return to the possession of his fathers.
