⁹ To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against Him.

⁶ And Jehovah passed by before him and proclaimed, Jehovah! Jehovah God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, ⁷ keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of fathers on the sons, and on the sons of sons, to the third and to the fourth generation.

¹⁸ Jehovah is long-suffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons to the third and fourth generation. ¹⁹ I beseech You, pardon the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of Your mercy, and as You have forgiven this people from Egypt even until now.

¹⁷ And they refused to obey, neither were they mindful of Your wonders which You did among them. But they hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage. But You are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and did not forsake them. ¹⁸ Yea, when they had made them a molten calf, and said, This is your God who brought you up out of Egypt, and had worked great blasphemies, ¹⁹ yet You in Your great mercies did not forsake them in the wilderness. The pillar of the cloud did not depart from them by day to lead them in the way, nor the pillar of fire by night, to show them light and the way in which they should go.

²⁶ But they were disobedient and rebelled against You, and cast Your Law behind their backs. And they killed Your prophets who testified against them to turn them to You, and they worked great blasphemies. ²⁷ And You delivered them into the hand of their enemies, who troubled them. And in the time of their trouble, they cried to You, and You heard from Heaven. And according to Your manifold mercies, You gave them deliverers, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies. ²⁸ But after they had rest, they did evil again before You, and You left them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had the rule over them. But they returned and cried to You, and You heard from Heaven. And many times You delivered them according to Your mercies,

³¹ But for Your great mercies, You did not completely destroy them nor forsake them. For You are a gracious and merciful God.

¹² Also to You, O Jehovah, belongs mercy; for You give to every man according to his work.

⁵ For You, Lord, are good and ready to forgive, and rich in mercy to all those who call on You.

¹⁵ But You, O God, are God full of pity, and gracious, long-suffering, and rich in mercy and truth.

⁴³ Many times He delivered them, but they rebelled in their counsel and sank in their iniquities. ⁴⁴ And He looked on their affliction when He heard their cry; ⁴⁵ and He remembered His covenant for them, and was moved to pity, according to the multitude of His mercies.

⁴ But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared.

⁷ Let Israel hope in Jehovah; for with Jehovah there is mercy, and with Him is plentiful redemption.

⁸ Jehovah is gracious and full of pity; slow to anger, and of great mercy. ⁹ Jehovah is good to all; and His tender mercies are over all His works.

⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to Jehovah, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

⁷ I will mention the loving-kindnesses of Jehovah, the praises of Jehovah, according to all that Jehovah has benefited for us, and the great good to the house of Israel by which He benefited them according to His mercies, and according to the multitude of His loving-kindnesses.

⁷ O Jehovah, though our iniquities testify against us, act for Your name's sake; for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against You.

²² It is by Jehovah's kindnesses that we are not destroyed, because His mercies never fail. ²³ They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.

⁸ But they rebelled against Me and would not listen to Me. They did not each man throw away the abominations of their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Egypt. And I said, I will pour out My fury against them to fulfill My anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt. ⁹ But I worked for My name's sake, that it should not be profaned before the nations among whom they were, for I made Myself known to them in their eyes, by bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

¹³ But the house of Israel rebelled against Me in the wilderness; they did not walk in My statutes, and they despised My judgments, which if a man does, he shall even live in them. And they greatly profaned My sabbaths. And I said, I will pour out My fury on them in the wilderness to destroy them.

⁵ we have sinned and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from Your commandments and from Your judgments.

⁷ O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us the shame of our faces, as it is today to the men of Judah and to the people of Jerusalem, and to all Israel who are near and who are afar off, through all the countries where You have driven them because of their sin which they have sinned against You.

² And he prayed to Jehovah and said, Please, O Jehovah, was this not my saying when I was still in my land? On account of this I fled before to Tarshish. For I knew that You are a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and One who repents over calamity.

¹⁸ Who is a God like You, who pardons iniquity and passes by the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not keep His anger forever, because He delights in mercy. ¹⁹ He will turn again; He will have pity on us. He will trample our iniquities. Yea, You will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.

⁶ to the praise of the glory of His grace, in which He has made us accepted in the One having been loved. ⁷ In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace, ⁸ which He caused to abound toward us in all wisdom and understanding;

⁴ But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love with which He loved us ⁵ (even when we were dead in sins) has made us alive together with Christ (by grace you are saved), ⁶ and has raised us up together and made us sit together in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus, ⁷ so that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
