And many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed. ⁸ And there was great joy in that city. ⁹ But a certain man called Simon had long been conjuring in the city, and amazing the nation of Samaria, claiming himself to be some great one. ¹⁰ All gave heed to him, from the least to the greatest, saying, This one is the great power of God. ¹¹ And they were paying attention to him, because for a long time he had amazed them with conjuring. ¹² But when they believed Philip preaching the gospel, the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. ¹³ Then Simon himself believed also, and being baptized, he continued with Philip. And seeing miracles and mighty works happening, he was amazed. ¹⁴ And the apostles in Jerusalem hearing that Samaria had received the Word of God, they sent Peter and John to them; ¹⁵ who when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit. ¹⁶ For as yet He had not fallen on any of them, they were baptized only in the name of the Lord Jesus. ¹⁷ Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit. ¹⁸ And when Simon saw that the Holy Spirit was given through laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money, ¹⁹ saying, Give me this power also, that on whomever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit. ²⁰ But Peter said to him, May your silver perish with you, because you have thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. ²¹ You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God. ²² Therefore repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you. ²³ For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bond of iniquity. ²⁴ And answering Simon said, You pray to the Lord for me that none of these things which you have spoken may come on me. ²⁵ Then, indeed, having earnestly testified and having spoken the Word of the Lord also having preached the gospel to many villages of the Samaritans, they returned to Jerusalem. ²⁶ And the angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, Arise and go toward the south, on the way that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza, which is a deserted place. ²⁷ And he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasure and had come to Jerusalem to worship, ²⁸ was returning. And sitting in his chariot he read Isaiah the prophet. ²⁹ Then the Spirit said to Philip, Go near and join yourself to this chariot. ³⁰ And Philip ran there to him and heard him read the prophet Isaiah, and said, Do you indeed understand what you are reading? ³¹ And he said, How can I unless some man should guide me? And he asked Philip to come up and sit with him. ³² And the content of the Scripture which he read was this: "He was led as a sheep to the slaughter, and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so He opened not His mouth. ³³ In His humiliation His judgment was taken away, and who shall declare His generation? For His life is taken from the earth." ³⁴ And the eunuch answered Philip and said, I beg you, of whom does the prophet speak this? Of himself or of some other man? ³⁵ Then Philip opened his mouth and began at the same Scripture and preached the gospel of Jesus to him. ³⁶ And as they passed along the way, they came on some water. And the eunuch said, See, here is water, what hinders me from being baptized? ³⁷ Philip said, If you believe with all your heart, it is lawful. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. ³⁸ And he commanded the chariot to stand still. And they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch. And he baptized him. ³⁹ And when they had come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, so that the eunuch saw him no more. And he went on his way rejoicing. ⁴⁰ But Philip was found at Azotus. And passing through, he preached the gospel in all the cities until he came to Caesarea.

⁷ Now therefore, restore his wife to the man. For he is a prophet, and he shall pray for you, and you shall live. And if you do not restore her, know that you shall surely die, you, and all that are yours.

¹⁸ And the magicians did so with their secret arts to bring forth lice, but they could not. So there were lice upon man and upon beast. ¹⁹ And the magicians said to Pharaoh, This is the finger of God. And Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as Jehovah had said.

³² Also take your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and go. And bless me also.

²⁹ But if you shall seek Jehovah your God from there, you shall find Him, if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul. ³⁰ When you are in trouble and when all these things have found you in the latter days, then you shall return to Jehovah your God and shall be obedient to His voice.

⁶ And these words which I command you this day shall be in your heart. ⁷ And you shall carefully teach them to your sons, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.

²⁶ And you shall not bring an abomination into your house, lest you be a cursed thing like it. You shall utterly hate it, and you shall utterly despise it. For it is a cursed thing.

¹⁸ Therefore you shall lay up these my words in your hearts and in your souls, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, so that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. ¹⁹ And you shall teach them to your sons, speaking of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. ²⁰ And you shall write them upon the door posts of your house, and upon your gates,

⁹ Beware that there is not a thought in your wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand, and your eye may be evil against your poor brother, and you give him nothing. And he may cry to Jehovah against you, and it is sin to you.

¹⁸ And it shall be, when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he shall write a copy of this Law in a book from before the priests, the Levites. ¹⁹ And it shall be with him, and he shall read it all the days of his life, so that he may learn to fear Jehovah his God, to keep all the words of this Law, and these statutes, to do them,

¹⁰ There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that uses divination, an observer of clouds, or a fortune-teller, or a witch, ¹¹ or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or one who calls to the dead. ¹² For all that do these things are an abomination to Jehovah. And because of these abominations Jehovah your God drives them out from before you.

¹⁸ lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turns away today from Jehovah our God, to go serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that bears gall and wormwood, ¹⁹ and it happens when he hears the words of this curse, that he shall bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to snatch away the drunken with the thirsty. ²⁰ Jehovah will not be willing to forgive him, but then the anger of Jehovah and His jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie on him, and Jehovah shall blot out his name from under heavens.

³² For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah. Their grapes are grapes of gall. Their clusters are bitter. ³³ Their wine is the poison of serpents, and the cruel venom of asps.

⁸ And the sons of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days. And the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended.

⁸ Good and upright is Jehovah; therefore He will teach sinners in the way. ⁹ The meek He will guide in judgment; and the meek He will teach His way.

¹ To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David, the servant of Jehovah. The oracle utters transgression to the wicked within my heart. There is no fear of God before his eyes.

² Jehovah has made known His salvation; His righteousness He has unveiled to the eyes of the nations. ³ He has remembered His mercy and His truth toward the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of Jehovah. ⁴ Make a joyful noise to Jehovah, all the earth; breakout, and rejoice, and sing praise. ⁵ Sing to Jehovah with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. ⁶ With trumpets and sound of a horn make a joyful noise before Jehovah, the King.

¹⁶ O Jehovah, truly I am Your servant; I am Your servant, and the son of Your handmaid; You have loosed my bonds.

³² I will run the way of Your Commandments, when You shall enlarge my heart.

⁹⁹ I have more understanding than all my teachers; for Your testimonies are my prayer.

¹¹¹ I have taken Your testimonies as an inheritance forever; for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

¹ My son, if you will receive my words and hide my commandments with you, ² so that you attend to wisdom, you shall extend your heart to understanding; ³ yea, if you cry after knowledge and lift up your voice for understanding; ⁴ if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures, ⁵ then you shall understand the fear of Jehovah and find the knowledge of God. ⁶ For Jehovah gives wisdom; out of His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

²² His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be held with the cords of his sin.

³³ Hear instruction, and be wise, and do not refuse it. ³⁴ Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

¹⁰ Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might; for there is no work, nor plan, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave where you go.

²³ who justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!

¹⁹ And when they shall say to you, Seek to the mediums and to wizards who peep and mutter; should not a people seek to their God, than for the living to the dead?

²² So then do not be mockers, lest your bands be made strong; for I have heard from the Lord Jehovah of Hosts that a full end is decreed on all the earth.

¹⁸ And in that day the deaf shall hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of their gloom and darkness. ¹⁹ And the meek shall increase joy in Jehovah, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

¹ The wilderness and the desert shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the crocus. ² It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing; the glory of Lebanon shall be given to it, the honor of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of Jehovah and the majesty of our God.

⁶ Then the lame shall leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb shall sing; for in the wilderness waters shall break out, and streams in the desert.

⁸ And a highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called, The Way of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it. But He shall be with them; the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err in it.

¹⁰ Sing to Jehovah a new song; His praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and its fullness; coasts and their peoples. ¹¹ Let the wilderness and its cities lift up their voice, the villages where Kedar dwells. Let the dwellers of the rock sing, let them shout from the mountain tops. ¹² Give glory to Jehovah and declare His praise in the coastlands.

⁶ I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Do not keep back; bring My sons from far and My daughters from the ends of the earth;

²⁵ who brings to nothing the signs of the liars, and makes diviners mad; who turns the wise backward, and makes their knowledge foolish;

¹⁴ So says Jehovah, The labor of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia, and of the Sabeans, men of stature, shall come to you, and they shall be yours. They shall come after you in chains; and they shall cross in chains and they shall fall down to you. They shall plead to you, saying, Surely God is in you; and none else, no other God.

⁹ But these two things shall come to you in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood. They shall come on you in their fullness for the multitude of your sorceries, and for the great power of your enchantments. ¹⁰ For you have trusted in your wickedness; you have said, No one sees me. Your wisdom and your knowledge, it has perverted you; and you have said in your heart, I am, and there is no one else. ¹¹ But evil shall come on you; you shall not know its origin. And mischief shall fall on you; you shall not be able to put it off. And desolation shall come on you suddenly, you shall not know. ¹² Stand now with your spells, and with the multitude of your sorceries, in which you have wearied yourself since your youth. Perhaps you will be able to profit; perhaps you may bring terror. ¹³ You are exhausted by your many plans; now let the astrologers stand up and save you, the stargazers, making known what is coming on you into the new moons.

¹² Therefore I will divide to Him with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He has poured out His soul to death; and He was counted among the transgressors; and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for transgressors.

¹ Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat. Yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.

⁶ Seek Jehovah while He may be found; call on Him while He is near. ⁷ Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return to Jehovah, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.

¹² For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break out before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. ¹³ Instead of the thorn, the fir tree shall come up; and instead of the brier, the myrtle tree shall come up; and it shall be to Jehovah for a name, for an everlasting sign which shall not be cut off.

³ And do not let the son of the stranger, who has joined himself to Jehovah, speak, saying, Jehovah has utterly separated me from His people. And do not let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. ⁴ For so says Jehovah to the eunuchs who keep My Sabbath, and choose things that please Me, and take hold of My covenant; ⁵ even to them will I give within My house and within My walls a hand and a name better than of sons and of daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that shall not be cut off. ⁶ Also the sons of the stranger, who join themselves to Jehovah to serve Him, and to love the name of Jehovah, to be His servants, everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath, and takes hold of My covenant; ⁷ even them I will bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted on My altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples, ⁸ says the Lord Jehovah who gathers the outcasts of Israel, Yet I will gather beside him his gathered ones.

⁶ Is not this the fast that I have chosen? To loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed ones go free, and that you break every yoke?

Yes, those nations will be completely wasted. ¹³ The glory of Lebanon will come to you, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box tree together, to beautify the place of My sanctuary; and I will make the place of My feet glorious. ¹⁴ Also the sons of your afflicters shall come bowing to you; and all your despisers will bow down at the soles of your feet. And they will call you, The city of Jehovah, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel. ¹⁵ Instead of being forsaken and hated, so that no one passes through, I will make you for everlasting majesty, a joy of many generations. ¹⁶ You will also suck the milk of nations, and suck the breast of kings; and you will know that I Jehovah am your Savior and your Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob. ¹⁷ For bronze I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver; and for wood I will bring bronze, and for stones, iron. I will also make your overseers to be peace, and your rulers to be righteousness. ¹⁸ Violence will no more be heard in your land, wasting nor ruin within your borders; but you will call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise. ¹⁹ The sun will no more be your light by day; nor the brightness of the moon give light to you; but Jehovah will be to you for everlasting light, and your God your glory. ²⁰ Your sun will no more go down, nor your moon withdraw; for Jehovah will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning will be ended. ²¹ Your people also will all be righteous; they will inherit the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, so that I may be glorified. ²² A little one will become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I Jehovah will hasten it in its time.

¹⁰ I will greatly rejoice in Jehovah, my soul will be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the robes of salvation, He covered me with the robe of righteousness like a bridegroom adorns himself with ornaments, and like a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

²⁴ And it will be, before they call I will answer; and while they are still speaking, I will hear.

¹⁹ And I will set a sign among them, and I will send those who escape from them to the nations, to Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, drawers of the bow; to Tubal, and Javan, to the far away coasts that have not heard My fame, nor have seen My glory. And they will declare My glory among the nations.

¹⁸ Your way and your doings have brought these things on you; this is your evil, because it is bitter, because it reaches to your heart.

¹⁵ Therefore so says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel, Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and make them drink poisonous water.

¹⁹ But I was like a docile lamb being brought to the slaughter. And I did not know that they had plotted evils against me, saying, Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, so that his name may be remembered no more.

³ But You, O Jehovah, know me. You have seen me and tried my heart toward You. Pull them out like sheep for the slaughter, and devote them for the day of slaughter.

²³ Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard its spots? Then you also may do good, who are accustomed to doing evil.

¹⁰ Weep not for the dead, nor moan for him; but weep bitterly for him who goes away. For he shall return no more, nor see his native country.

³⁴ And they shall no more teach each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, Know Jehovah; for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says Jehovah. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sins no more.

⁷ And Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, of the eunuchs in the king's house, heard that they had put Jeremiah in the pit (the king then sitting in the gate of Benjamin),

¹⁶ Go and speak to Ebed-melech the Ethiopian, saying, So says Jehovah of Hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring My Words on this city for evil and not for good. And they shall be done in that day before you.

⁴⁰ I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter, like rams with he-goats.

⁵ He built against me and has circled me with bitterness and hardship.

¹⁹ Remember my affliction and my wandering, as wormwood and bitterness.

¹² And the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me a sound of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of Jehovah from His place. ¹³ I also heard the sound of the wings of the living creatures touching one another, and the sound of the wheels along with them, and a sound of a great rushing. ¹⁴ So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of Jehovah was strong on me.

³ And He put out the form of a hand, and took me by a lock of my head. And the Spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heavens, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the opening of the inner gate facing north, where there was a seat of the image of jealousy, which provokes to jealousy.

¹ And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the eastern gate of Jehovah's house, which faces eastward. And behold, twenty-five men were at the opening of the gate; among whom I saw Jaazaniah the son of Azur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, rulers of the people.

²⁴ And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to the exiles. And the vision that I had seen went up from me.

¹⁹ And will you profane Me among My people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to kill the souls that should not die; and to save alive the souls that should not live, by your lying to My people who listen to lies.

³ Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and put the stumbling-block of their iniquity before their face. Should I at all be inquired of by them?

²⁵ And I will sprinkle clean waters on you, and you shall be clean. I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from your idols.

⁵ And the Spirit took me up and brought me into the inner chamber. And behold, the glory of Jehovah filled the house.

¹⁶ Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to return a word to you on this matter. ¹⁷ If it is so that our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, then He will deliver us out of your hand, O king. ¹⁸ But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods nor worship the golden image which you have set up.

²⁷ Therefore, O king, let my advice be pleasing to you, and break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor, whether there will be duration to your prosperity.

¹⁷ Then Daniel answered and said before the king, Let your gifts be to yourself, and give your rewards to another. Yet I will read the writing to the king, and make the meaning known to him.

¹⁰ And when he had learned that the document was signed, Daniel went to his house. And his windows were open in his roof room toward Jerusalem; and he kneeled on his knees three times a day and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did before.

²³ Then the king was exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no kind of hurt was found on him, because he trusted in his God.

²⁶ And after sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself. And the people of the ruler who shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. And the end of it shall be with the flood, and ruins are determined, until the end shall be war.

³ Then we shall know, if we follow on to know Jehovah. His going out is prepared as the morning; and He shall come to us as the rain, as the latter and former rain to the earth.

¹³ Yes, tear your heart and not your robes, and turn to Jehovah your God: for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and He pities because of the evil. ¹⁴ Who knows if He will turn and have pity and leave a blessing behind Him, a food offering and a drink offering to Jehovah your God?

⁶ Seek Jehovah, and you shall live; lest He break out like a fire on the house of Joseph and devour it, and there be none to put it out in Bethel.

¹⁵ Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate. It may be that the Lord Jehovah of Hosts will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.

⁶ And the chief of the seaman came to him and said to him, What is it to you, O sound sleeper? Arise, call upon your God! It may be that our god will notice us, and we will not perish.

⁵ And the people of Nineveh believed God. And they called a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of them.

⁹ Who knows? He may repent, and God may have pity and turn away from the glow of His anger, so that we do not perish.

⁴ Therefore the law has become helpless, and justice does not always go forth. For the wicked entraps the righteous; therefore justice goes forth, being perverted. ⁵ Look among the nations, and behold and wonder marvelously; for I will work a work in your days which you will not believe, not even if it is declared to you.

⁴ Behold, the soul of him is lifted up, and is not upright; but the just shall live by his faith.

⁹ Woe to him who robs evil booty for his house, to set his nest on high, to be delivered from the hand of evil! ¹⁰ You have planned shame to your house, to make an end of many people, and are sinning in your soul.

¹⁰ From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia, My worshipers, the daughter of My scattered ones, shall bring My food offering.

⁴ I will bring it forth, says Jehovah of Hosts; and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him who swears falsely by My name. And it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall devour it, and its timber and its stones.

⁵ Ashkelon shall see and fear; Gaza also shall writhe in great pain; and Ekron shall be ashamed for her hope. And the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited. ⁶ And a bastard shall dwell in Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.

⁷ Awake, O sword, against My Shepherd, and against the Man who is My companion, says Jehovah of Hosts; strike the Shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered. And I will turn My hand on the little ones.

² saying, Where is He who is born king of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east and have come to worship Him. ³ But when Herod the king heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. ⁴ And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

¹ In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, ² and saying, Repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand. ³ For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight."

¹⁶ And Jesus, when He had been baptized, went up immediately out of the water. And lo, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting upon Him.

²⁴ And His fame went throughout all Syria. And they brought to Him all those being badly ill suffering various diseases and torments, and those who had been possessed with demons, and those who had been moonstruck, and paralytics. And He healed them.

² And He opened His mouth and taught them, saying,

¹³ You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its savor, with what shall it be salted? It is no longer good for anything, but to be thrown out and to be trodden underfoot by men.

²² The light of the body is the eye. Therefore if your eye is sound, your whole body shall be full of light. ²³ But if your eye is evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! ²⁴ No one can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

⁷ Ask and it shall be given to you; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you. ⁸ For each one who asks receives; and he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, it shall be opened.

¹ And when He had called to Him His twelve disciples, He gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.

⁵ Jesus sent out these twelve, commanding them, saying, Do not go into the way of the nations, and do not enter into any city of the Samaritans. ⁶ But rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

⁸ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. You have received freely, freely give.

²³ But when they persecute you in this city, flee into another; for truly I say to you, In no way shall you have finished the cities of Israel until the Son of Man comes.

²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he is like his master, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more those of his household? ²⁶ Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing covered that shall not be revealed, and nothing hidden which shall not be known. ²⁷ What I tell you in darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear, proclaim on the housetops. ²⁸ And do not fear those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. But rather fear Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

⁵ the blind receive their sight, and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear; the dead are raised, and the poor have the gospel proclaimed to them.

⁴² The queen of the south shall rise up in the Judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it, for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, One greater than Solomon is here.

¹⁹ When anyone hears the Word of the kingdom and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown by the wayside.

²³ But that sown on the good ground is this: he who hears the Word and understands; who also bears fruit and produces one truly a hundredfold; and one sixty; and one thirty.

³⁶ Then sending the crowds away, Jesus went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, Explain to us the parable of the darnel of the field.

⁴⁴ Again, the kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which when a man has found it, he hides it, and for the joy of it goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field.

⁵¹ Jesus said to them, Have you understood all these things? They said to Him, Yes, Lord.

¹⁰ And He called the crowd and said to them, Hear and understand.

¹⁹ For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies;

³⁰ And great crowds came to Him, having with them the lame, blind, dumb, maimed, and many others. And they cast them down at Jesus' feet. And He healed them, ³¹ so much so that the crowd wondered when they saw the dumb speak, the maimed sound, the lame walk, and the blind see. And they glorified the God of Israel.

¹⁶ And Simon Peter answered and said, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

¹ At that hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying, Who is the greater in the kingdom of Heaven? ² And Jesus called a little child to Him and set him in their midst, ³ and said, Truly I say to you, Unless you are converted and become as little children, you shall not enter into the kingdom of Heaven.

Untie them and bring them to Me. ³ And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, The Lord has need of them, and immediately He will send them. ⁴ All this was done so that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, ⁵ "Tell the daughter of Zion, Behold, your King comes to you, meek, and sitting on an ass, even a colt the foal of an ass." ⁶ And the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them.

⁶ And the rest took his servants and treated them spitefully, and killed them.

³⁴ Therefore, behold, I send prophets and wise men and scribes to you. And you will kill and crucify some of them. And some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city;

¹⁵ Therefore when you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place (whoever reads, let him understand).

⁶² And standing up, the high priest said to Him, Do you answer nothing? What is it that these witness against you? ⁶³ But Jesus was silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, I adjure you by the living God that you tell us whether you are the Christ, the Son of God.

³ Then he who had betrayed Him, seeing that He was condemned, sorrowing, Judas returned the thirty pieces of silver again to the chief priests and elders, ⁴ saying, I have sinned, betraying innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? You see to that. ⁵ And he threw the pieces of silver down in the temple and departed. And he went and hanged himself.

¹² And when He was accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing. ¹³ Then Pilate said to Him, Do you not hear how many things they witness against you? ¹⁴ And He did not answer him a word, so that the governor greatly marveled. ¹⁵ Now at that feast the governor was accustomed to release to the people a prisoner, whomever they desired. ¹⁶ And they then had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas. ¹⁷ Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said to them, Whom do you desire that I release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ? ¹⁸ For he knew they had delivered Him because of envy. ¹⁹ But as he was sitting down on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, Have nothing to do with that just man, for today because of Him I have suffered many things in a dream. ²⁰ But the chief priests and elders persuaded the crowd that they should ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. ²¹ The governor answered and said to them, Which of the two do you desire that I release to you? They said, Barabbas. ²² Pilate said to them, What then shall I do with Jesus, who is called Christ? They all said to him, Let Him be crucified. ²³ And the governor said, Why? What evil has He done? But they cried out the more, saying, let Him be crucified! ²⁴ But when Pilate saw that it gained nothing, but rather that a tumult was made, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, I am innocent of the blood of this just person. You see to it. ²⁵ Then all the people answered and said, Let His blood be on us and on our children. ²⁶ Then he released Barabbas to them. And when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered Him to be crucified.

¹⁹ Therefore go and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

³ Then they came to Him, bringing one who was paralyzed, who was carried by four. ⁴ When they could not come near to Him because of the crowd, they unroofed the roof where He was. And digging through, they let down the cot on which the paralytic was lying. ⁵ And seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic, Child, your sins are forgiven to you. ⁶ But some of the scribes were sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts, ⁷ Why does this one speak such blasphemies? Who can forgive sins except God only? ⁸ And instantly knowing in His spirit that they reasoned so within themselves, He said to them, Why do you reason these things in your heart? ⁹ Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, Your sins are forgiven you; or to say, Arise, and take up your cot and walk? ¹⁰ But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority upon earth to forgive sins, He said to the paralytic, ¹¹ I say to you, Arise, and take up your cot, and go to your house.

Follow him. ¹⁴ And wherever he may go in, you say to the housemaster, The Teacher says, Where is the guest room where I shall eat the passover with My disciples? ¹⁵ And he will show you a large upper room, furnished and prepared. Prepare there for us. ¹⁶ And His disciples went out and came into the city and found it as He had said to them. And they made the passover ready.

²⁵ And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. And this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel. And the Holy Spirit was on him.

² Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests-- the Word of God came to John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. ³ And he came into all the country around Jordan, proclaiming the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins, ⁴ as it is written in the book of the Words of Isaiah the prophet, saying, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight.

⁴ as it is written in the book of the Words of Isaiah the prophet, saying, "The voice of one crying in the wilderness, prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight.
