⁵ He trusted in Jehovah, the God of Israel, and after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor who were before him.

¹⁰ So you shall speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.

¹⁵ And Hezekiah prayed before Jehovah and said, O Jehovah, the God of Israel, who dwells between the cherubs, You are God Himself, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made the heavens and the earth. ¹⁶ Jehovah, bow down Your ear and hear. O Jehovah, open Your eyes and see, and hear the words of Sennacherib, who has sent him to taunt the living God. ¹⁷ Truly, Jehovah, the kings of Assyria have destroyed the nations and their lands, ¹⁸ and have thrown their gods into the fire; for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone, and they have destroyed them. ¹⁹ And now, O, Jehovah our God, I beseech You, save us out of his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that You are Jehovah God, and You only.

²⁵ And there was no king like him before him, who turned to Jehovah with all his heart and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses. And after him none rose up like him.

¹¹ And Asa cried to Jehovah his God and said, Jehovah, it is nothing with You to help, whether with many or with him who has no power. Help us, O Jehovah our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O Jehovah, You are our God. Do not let man prevail against You.

⁷ And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said to him, Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and have not relied on Jehovah your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped out of your hand. ⁸ Were not the Cushites and the Libyans a huge army with many chariots and horsemen? Yet, because you relied on Jehovah, he delivered them into your hand. ⁹ For the eyes of Jehovah run to and fro in all the whole earth to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is perfect toward Him. You have done foolishly in this; therefore from now on you shall have wars.

²⁰ And they rose early in the morning and went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. And as they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and you people of Jerusalem. Believe in Jehovah your God, and so you shall be established. Believe His prophets, and so you shall be blessed.

³⁵ And after this Jehoshaphat king of Judah joined himself with Ahaziah king of Israel; he did wickedly to do so.

⁷ Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of the king of Assyria, or for all the multitude with him. For there are more with us than with him. ⁸ With him is an arm of flesh, but with us is Jehovah our God to help us and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves on the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

¹⁵ Though he slay me, I will not wait, but I will maintain my own ways before Him.

⁵ But I have trusted in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.

¹ A Psalm of David. Jehovah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? ² When the wicked, my enemies and my foes, came on me to eat my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

¹ To the Chief Musician. For the sons of Korah. A Song "For the Virgins". God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. ² Therefore we will not fear when the earth changes, and when mountains are slipping into the heart of the seas.

¹² O Jehovah of Hosts, blessed is the man who trusts in You.

⁵ Blessed is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose help is in Jehovah his God, ⁶ who made the heavens and earth, the sea and all that is in it; who keeps truth forever;

⁷ Blessed is the man who trusts in Jehovah, and Jehovah is his trust. ⁸ For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters; it sends out its roots by the river, and it shall not fear when the heat comes, but its foliage shall be green; and he is not worried in the year of drought, nor will it cease from yielding fruit.

⁴³ He trusted in God, let Him deliver Him now, if He will have Him. (For He said, I am the Son of God.)
