⁷ Each one, as he purposes in his heart, let him give; not of grief, or of necessity, for God loves a cheerful giver.

² Speak to the sons of Israel that they bring Me an offering. You shall take an offering from every man that gives it willingly with his heart.

⁵ Take from among you an offering to Jehovah. Whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of Jehovah: gold, and silver, and bronze,

⁷ If there is among you a poor man of one of your brothers inside any of your gates in your land which Jehovah your God gives you, you shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother. ⁸ But you shall open your hand wide to him, and shall surely lend him enough for his need, that which he lacks. ⁹ Beware that there is not a thought in your wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand, and your eye may be evil against your poor brother, and you give him nothing. And he may cry to Jehovah against you, and it is sin to you. ¹⁰ You shall surely give to him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing Jehovah your God shall bless you in all your works, and in all that you put your hand to. ¹¹ For the poor shall never cease out of the land. Therefore, I command you saying, You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor, and to your needy, in your land.

¹⁴ You shall richly bestow on him from your flock, and from your grain floor, and from your winepress; with what Jehovah your God has blessed you, you shall give to him.

¹⁷ I know also, my God, that You try the heart, and have pleasure in uprightness. I, in the uprightness of my heart, have willingly offered all these things. And now I have seen with joy Your people who are present here to offer willingly to You.

²⁵ The soul who gives freely shall be made fat; and he who waters shall also be watered himself.

⁹ He who has a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he gives of his bread to the poor.

⁶ Do not eat the bread of him who has an evil eye, nor desire his dainty foods; ⁷ for as he thinks in his heart, so is he; Eat and drink, he says to you, but his heart is not with you. ⁸ Your bit which you have eaten, you shall vomit up, and spoil your pleasant words.

⁵ The fool shall no more be called noble, nor the miser said to be bountiful.

⁸ But the noble thinks noble things; and by noble things he shall stand.

³⁵ I have shown you all things, that working in this way we ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

⁸ or he who exhorts, in the encouragement; or he who shares, in simplicity; or he who takes the lead, in diligence; or he who shows mercy, in cheerfulness.

¹² For if the eagerness is present, it is acceptable according to what one has, and not according to what one does not have.

⁹ Do not grudge against one another, brothers, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge stands before the door.
