And Solomon and the congregation of Jehovah sought to it. ⁶ And Solomon went up there to the bronze altar before Jehovah, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it. ⁷ In that night God appeared to Solomon and said to him, Ask what I shall give you. ⁸ And Solomon said to God, You have shown great mercy to David my father, and have made me to reign in his stead. ⁹ Now, O Jehovah God, Your promise to David my father has been fulfilled. For You have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. ¹⁰ Give me now wisdom and knowledge that I may go out and come in before this people. For who can judge this Your great people? ¹¹ And God said to Solomon, Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches, wealth, nor honor, nor the life of your enemies, nor yet have asked for long life but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself that you may judge My people, over whom I have made you king; ¹² wisdom and knowledge is granted to you. And I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings have had that have been before you, nor shall any after you have the like. ¹³ And Solomon came from the high place that was at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel. ¹⁴ And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen. Your throne shall be established forever.

Therefore Your servant has found in his heart to pray this prayer to You. ²⁸ And now, O Lord Jehovah, You are that God, and Your Words are true, and You have promised this goodness to Your servant. ²⁹ Therefore, now, let it please You to bless the house of Your servant, to be forever before You. For You, O Lord Jehovah, have spoken. And with Your blessing let the house of Your servant be blessed forever.

And if that was too little, I would have given to you such and such things besides.

²⁰ I have found David, My servant; with My holy oil I have anointed him. ²¹ My hand shall be always with him; My arm also shall make him strong. ²² The enemy shall not use force on him, nor the son of wickedness afflict him. ²³ And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague those who hate him. ²⁴ But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him; and in My name his horn shall be lifted up. ²⁵ I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers. ²⁶ He shall cry to Me, My Father, You are my God, and the rock of my salvation. ²⁷ And I will make him My first-born, higher than the kings of the earth. ²⁸ I will keep My mercy for him forever, and My covenant shall stand fast with him.

³⁵ Once I have sworn by My holiness that I will not lie to David. ³⁶ His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before Me. ³⁷ It shall be established forever like the moon, and like a faithful witness in the heavens. Selah.

⁴⁹ O Lord, where are Your former loving-kindnesses which You swore to David in Your truth?

³⁴ Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your Law; yea, I shall observe it with all my heart.

⁷³ JOD: Your hands have made me and formed me; give me understanding so that I may learn Your Commandments.

⁵ until I find out a place for Jehovah, a dwelling-place for the Mighty One of Jacob. ⁶ Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah; we found it in the fields of the wood.

¹¹ Jehovah has sworn to David in truth; He will not turn from it; Of the fruit of your body I will set on the throne for you. ¹² If your sons will keep My covenant and My testimonies which I shall teach them, their sons shall also sit on your throne forever.

² so that you attend to wisdom, you shall extend your heart to understanding; ³ yea, if you cry after knowledge and lift up your voice for understanding; ⁴ if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures, ⁵ then you shall understand the fear of Jehovah and find the knowledge of God. ⁶ For Jehovah gives wisdom; out of His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

⁵ Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding. ⁶ In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

¹³ Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gets understanding. ¹⁴ For the profit from it is better than the gain from silver, and its produce more than fine gold; ¹⁵ she is more precious than rubies; and all the things you can desire are not to be compared with her. ¹⁶ Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand, riches and honor. ¹⁷ Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. ¹⁸ She is a tree of life to those who lay hold upon her; and happy is everyone who keeps her.

⁷ Wisdom is the main thing; get wisdom; and with all your getting get understanding.

⁸ The wisdom of the wise is to understand his way, but the folly of fools is deceit.

⁷ for as he thinks in his heart, so is he; Eat and drink, he says to you, but his heart is not with you.

⁹ I was great and increased more than all that were before me in Jerusalem; also my wisdom remained with me.

¹⁰ The bricks have fallen down, but we will build with cut stones; the sycamores are cut down, but we use cedars instead.

¹⁶ And Lebanon is not enough to burn, nor the beasts of it enough for a burnt offering.

³ Bow down your ear, and come to Me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

¹⁷ For bronze I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver; and for wood I will bring bronze, and for stones, iron. I will also make your overseers to be peace, and your rulers to be righteousness.

¹⁴ Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah: I was no prophet, nor was I a prophet's son. But I was a herdsman and a gatherer from sycamore trees.

³³ But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you.

⁷ Ask and it shall be given to you; seek and you shall find; knock and it shall be opened to you. ⁸ For each one who asks receives; and he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, it shall be opened.

²⁰ teaching them to observe all things, whatever I commanded you. And, behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the world. Amen.

³⁶ And He said to them, What do you desire that I should do for you? ³⁷ They said to Him, Grant to us that we may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on Your left hand, in Your glory.

⁵¹ And answering Jesus said to him, What do you desire that I should do to you? The blind man said to Him, My Lord, that I may see again.

²³ And in that day you shall ask Me nothing. Truly, truly, I say to you, Whatever you shall ask the Father in My name, He will give you.

⁴ While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own authority? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God.

¹⁶ to the one we are the savor of death to death, and to the other we are the savor of life to life. And who is sufficient for these things?

⁵ not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God;

²⁰ Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

⁹ Therefore God has highly exalted Him, and has given Him a name which is above every name, ¹⁰ that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of heavenly ones, and of earthly ones, and of ones under the earth; ¹¹ and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

¹² For the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing apart of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

⁵ But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and with no reproach, and it shall be given to him.

¹³ Who is wise and knowing among you? Let him show his works by his good conduct with meekness of wisdom.

¹⁷ But the wisdom that is from above is first truly pure, then peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.

¹⁴ And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. ¹⁵ And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.
