¹⁸ This charge I commit to you, my son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before about you, in order that you might war a good warfare by them,

³ For though walking about in flesh, we do not war according to flesh. ⁴ For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds,

¹² For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the world's rulers, of the darkness of this age, against spiritual wickedness in high places. ¹³ Therefore take to yourselves the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. ¹⁴ Therefore stand, having your loins girded about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness ¹⁵ and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace. ¹⁶ Above all, take the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. ¹⁷ And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, ¹⁸ praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching to this very thing with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

²² But you know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he has served with me in the gospel.

¹¹ according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust. ¹² And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who strengthened me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry--

⁴ For every creation of God is good, and nothing to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving.

¹⁴ Do not neglect the gift in you, which was given you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the body of elders.

¹² Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold on eternal life, to which you are also called and have professed a good profession before many witnesses. ¹³ I charge you before God (who makes all things alive) and in the sight of Christ Jesus (who witnessed the good confession to Pontius Pilate), ¹⁴ that you keep the commandment without spot and without blame until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁰ O Timothy, guard the Deposit, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of falsely-named science,

¹ Therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. ² And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit the same to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. ³ Therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. ⁴ No one who wars tangles with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who chose him to be a soldier. ⁵ And also if anyone competes, he is not crowned unless he competes lawfully.

¹ Therefore I solemnly witness before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who is going to judge the living and the dead according to His appearance and His kingdom, ² preach the Word, be instant in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine. ³ For a time will be when they will not endure sound doctrine, but they will heap up teachers to themselves according to their own lusts, tickling the ear.

⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.

⁴ to Titus, a true child according to our common faith. Grace mercy and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.
