1 John 5:9 Cross References - MKJV

⁹ If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater. For this is the witness of God which He has testified about His Son.

¹⁶ And Jesus, when He had been baptized, went up immediately out of the water. And lo, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting upon Him. ¹⁷ And lo, a voice from Heaven, saying, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

⁵ While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. And behold a voice out of the cloud which said, This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased, hear Him.

³² and what He has seen and heard, that He testifies, and no one receives His testimony. ³³ He who has received His testimony has set his seal to this, that God is true.

³¹ If I bear witness of Myself, My witness is not true. ³² There is another who bears witness of Me, and I know that the witness which He witnesses of Me is true. ³³ You sent to John, and he bore witness to the truth. ³⁴ But I do not receive testimony from man, but these things I say so that you might be saved. ³⁵ He was a burning and shining light, and you were willing for a time to rejoice in his light. ³⁶ But I have greater witness than that of John, for the works which the Father has given Me that I should finish them, the works which I do themselves witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me. ³⁷ And He sending Me, the Father Himself, has borne witness of Me. Neither have you heard His voice at any time nor seen His shape.

³⁹ You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life. And they are the ones witnessing of Me,

¹⁷ It is also written in your Law that the testimony of two men is true. ¹⁸ I am one who bears witness of Myself, and the Father who sent Me bears witness concerning Me. ¹⁹ Then they said to Him, Where is your father? Jesus said to them, You neither know Me nor My Father. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.

³⁸ But if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works so that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.

³² And we are His witnesses of these things. And so also is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him.

³¹ because He has appointed a day in which He is going to judge the world in righteousness by a Man whom He appointed, having given proof to all by raising Him from the dead.

⁴ God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with different kinds of miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

¹⁸ so that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us,

¹⁰ He who believes on the Son of God has the witness in himself. He who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he does not believe the record that God gave of His Son.
