¹⁵ And the Jews said with astonishment, Whence comes this man's learning, who was never taught?

²⁸ When Jesus had ended this discourse, the people were struck with awe at his manner of teaching; ²⁹ for he taught as one who had authority, and not as the Scribes.

⁵⁴ Jesus being come into his own country, taught the inhabitants in their synagogue; and they said with astonishment, Whence has this man this wisdom, and this power of working miracles?

²² And admiring his answer, they left him, and went away.

³³ Now, the people who heard this, were struck with awe at his doctrine.

² And on the Sabbath he taught in their synagogues, and many who heard him, said with astonishment, Whence has this man these abilities? What wisdom is this which he has gotten? and how are so great miracles performed by him? ³ Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James and Joses, and Judas and Simon? Are not his sisters also here with us? And they were offended at him.

⁴⁷ And all who heard him, were amazed at his understanding and answers,

¹¹ This is the stone which was set at nought by you builders, that is become the head of the corner: ¹² and there is salvation in no other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we can be saved.

²⁴ And as he was thus making his defense, Festus said, with a loud voice, Paul, you are distracted: much learning drives you to madness.
